Chapter 104 Rebellion {Rosie}
Chapter 104 Rebellion {Rosie}
I broke into maniacal laughter for the main purpose of scaring Berlo. He wasn’t the only crazy one here. At first, I did it to spite him, but when I got my desired look of disgust from him, it made me laugh harder.
My head dropped back; the lack of hair on my head made me feel light.
Suddenly, I felt his hand grip the front of my top, and he forcefully lifted me off the floor with it. I met his covered eyes with a dead look. “Listen here, slut!” He spoke to my face. He took my everything not to hurl my saliva at his face.
He brought my face close to his, sneering at me with undiluted disgust. “I don’t care what tricks you play; I’m not letting you go. You’re mine.”
The top of my lip twitched. “I—” my voice shivered mainly because I was cold. I squinted my eyes, hoping to catch a glimpse of his demonic eyes. “I belong to no one.” I bit out with pure venom.
He let out a short laugh. “I see you still have that rebellious spirit in you, and I’m sure you know how much happiness it brings me to break it out of you.” His words brought a shiver down my spine. My breath hitched. He must have sensed my fear because his lips stretched into a devilish smile.
“Ah,” he snickered. “You must have forgotten who I am, Rosie. But not to worry, I’m going to remind you.”
The words ‘I’m sorry’ were tempted to leave my mouth, but they didn’t. I survived him in the past; I could do it again.
I looked up at him from beneath my lashes and flashed a smirk. He wanted rebellious? That was what he would receive.
“I hate to break it to you, Berlo, but you and I know you would never be able to defeat Kieran without underhand tricks.” I forced out. His hold on my top tightened.
“For a soldier, you lack the dignity and honour. You’re merely a coward that gains pleasure from watching people weaker than him suffer because you know men like Kieran would wipe the floor with your scared, disgusting ass.”
I staggered when he suddenly released me. The next thing I saw was his hand coming to meet my face. His slap sent me down to the floor without mercy.
The room spun. Luckily I was able to place my hands on the floor before my face could hit the concrete.
My entire face ran hot; blood dripped from my split lip to the floor in fat drops. My breathing came fast and hard. Tears filled my eyes from the pain, but not a single tear dropped.
“I guess playtime is over.”
I swung my head back to face him, with my eyes expressing nothing but hatred. He slowly undid his cuff links and pulled his sleeves to his elbow.
My heart pounded rapidly. I knew what was coming; I knew I should get on my knees, but I didn’t.
My hands trembled slightly from the weight of my upper body and the fear coursing through my veins.
He stepped forward and reached down to grab a fistful of my top so he could drag me across the floor with it.
My legs and backside burnt from the intense friction that came with him dragging me across the floor like a rag doll.
“I must say,” he began mockingly. “I’m impressed. This is the part where you usually beg.”
He dragged me towards the stairs. I quickly had to put my hands to work, letting them do my legs' work of climbing the stairs as he pulled and tugged on my top relentlessly. The heels of my feet would hit each step the higher we climbed until we eventually got to the top. He didn’t stop.
“I really don’t want to bruise your pretty face so it doesn’t ruin the plans I have in mind for you, so I have to use different tactics to keep you in place.” He spoke like he was talking to a feral dog.
“I will never work for you, Berlo!” I continued the rest of my sentence in Italian, shouting a series of curses at him to distract myself from the burning pain my body was passing through.
Berlo simply laughed. “You must be forgetting who is in charge here, darling. You will do just as I tell you to.” He tightened his hold on my top, purposefully having the fabric squeeze my throat in a suffocating manner.
“O-over my dead body.” I managed to utter. It was hard getting air through my lungs.
“Oh, I’m sure you’d change your mind once you see the souvenir I got for you.”
My vision began to blur. My surroundings passed by me in a haze. His guards didn’t blink an eye at the scene; even the maids in uniform passed without giving me a second glance.
They must be used to watching derogatory scenes like this in their boss’s mansion. I wasn’t the first woman or man to be publicly humiliated like this, but I would definitely be the last. I would make sure of it, no matter the cost.
I was sure the skin on my lower back and feet was bruised badly, but thankfully he stopped. He loosened his hold on my top, and I finally got to breathe properly. My eyes watered.
“Remember, Rosie. You are only given one chance to choose right. I don’t give second chances.”
I couldn’t understand what he was trying to say, but I got a foreboding feeling that whatever he intended to show me wasn’t an early Christmas present.
“Come on, get up.” He ordered, but I genuinely could not summon the strength to obey. “Rosie…” he warned in a low tone.
I shut my eyes for a quick second and tried to get up but couldn’t. My limbs were too weak; my vision was hazy.
“I can’t.” I gritted out.
He sighed. “Get her up.” I looked up at the guards that suddenly appeared from nowhere. They helped me up on my feet and turned me around.
I stood by the entrance of an empty room, and sitting in the middle of the room, sitting on a chair, was a man with a bag over his head and his hands tied behind his back.
My heart stuttered. I refused to believe the man in that chair was—
“My men caught him searching the airport for an ‘Elizabeth Grant’, but he also knew you as ‘Rosie Eleganzo’.”
No. No. No.
Berlo’s guard went over and yanked the bag off the man’s head. My breath got stuck in my throat.
The man’s head limply fell forward; his face was bloody and covered with bruises.
I slapped my hands over my mouth to stop the scream that intended to break out.
