Chapter 80 THE MORNING WHEN EVERYONE NOTICED

Chapter 80 THE MORNING WHEN EVERYONE NOTICED

~ Elara ~

I was wide awake My body was used to waking up extra early for school, but obviously Calvin’s wasn't. His arm was tightly wrapped around my lower waist, pushing my back against his chest.

He was sound asleep, and wasn't going to let go anytime soon. I try elbowing him away, but he just grumbles something I can't understand.

I couldn't deny it, the fact that I slept better near Calvin . Maybe it was the way his arm felt around me, or the way he made me feel safe.

Maybe it was just him.

My back was faced towards him, so I had to be extra cautious with my movements to escape.

"I'm going to be late for school." I grumble, freezing when he suddenly moves his face to rest between my neck and collarbone.

" Me too." He replies lowly, causing his lips to slightly graze over my skin as he speaks. I try my best to ignore how hot my body had gotten just by his lips touching my skin on accident.

"You're always late though, it's not the same." I say, adjusting my body carefully so I'm facing him now. I thought seeing him face to face would make it easier to not get so many weird thoughts in my head.

It doesn't help, especially since I didn't expect him to be shirtless of all things.

Calvin slowly opens his eyes, looking over my face before making eye contact with me.

" Good morning angel." He smirks, catching me off guard. I flush red, finally pushing his arms off when he loosens his grip on me.

"I...I'm going to go get ready for school." I stumble out, quickly grabbing my box that held the present from Calvin and Wayne inside of it.

I open the door, only to feel my heart drop to my stomach when I'm suddenly facing Mrs. Conner.

She looks back at me curiously while holding a tray of breakfast in her hand.

This looked wrong didn't it
"Mrs Conner, I swear it's not what it looks lik-" My words are cut short when I feel Calvin’s presence behind me. He just made the situation worse, especially since he was shirtless on top of it all.

There's no saving me from this one
I'm done for.

"I knew something was up with you two."

Mrs.Conner says to herself. She gives me a soft smile and hands me the breakfast tray.

I stand there in shock, not able to move as I hold the tray in my hands. I only watch as Mrs. Conner walks away, hoping with everything in me that she didn't take what she saw the wrong way.

Who am I kidding.

My eyes follow Calvin’s hand when he takes a waffle from the tray and eats it, not caring at all about what just happened.

I couldn't help but wonder if this was normal to him. How many other girls he's brought to his room. For some reason, the thought wasn't making me feel the best.

Calvin stops the next bite he's about to take, looking down at me confused. " Why do you look so ma-" Before Calvin finishes talking I shove the tray into his arms, quickly walking away.

I couldn't handle the embarrassment from what happened any longer, so I left.

My hand covers my mouth in shock the entire walk back to my room. This will never stop haunting me now will it?
When I finally reach the door to my room I silently get ready. It felt like I just put myself in time out.

Today I decided on pulling my hair up into a high ponytail. It was hotter than usual, and I didn't want my thick hair to make the heat worse than it already was.

I sit on my bed as I contemplate on wearing the new shoes Calvin bought me to school. Would people notice we were matching?

Ignoring my thoughts I pull the shoes on, hoping no one would care to notice.

I hear a notification pop up on my phone, but I don't look down at it as my eyes instantly move to the time. I jump up from my bed, quickly grabbing my backpack as I walk outside.

If I walked fast enough I could still make it on time and be a little early.

Walking back into school was rough, especially since no one exactly liked my presence there. I don't miss the usual glare from Leslie and her friends as I walk by her locker to get to my own.

I sigh as I open my locker, quickly grabbing my books for first hour. Thankfully I still had a chance to get to class on time. Mr. Silas was strict on attendance, and if anyone was late he'd make sure the entire class noticed too.

Someone suddenly taps my shoulder, causing me to turn my head towards them in surprise. I watch curiously as I look at the girl from the dinner, Charlotte, looking me up and down.

"So, you're the Elara girl." She says to herself, nodding her head in approval.

I couldn't exactly tell if she was about to threaten me, or was just asking genuinely.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I say nervously, moving a step back from her just in case she didn't like me either.

"Nothin, I just heard a lot about you." She shrugs.

The warning bell starts blaring and Charlotte rolls her eyes as all the students start rushing to class.

" Why do you look like you just saw a ghost?" Charlotte asks, following me while I walk to my own first hour before I was late. She didn't know I was in calvin's room too, right? Or was I just paranoid?

"I…I don't." I say, swallowing the lump in my throat when she squints her eyes at me

unconvinced.

Charlotte suddenly starts laughing before playfully punching my shoulder. " I like you, let's be friends." She says nonchalantly.

I watch with wide eyes as I look over at her

Friends.

" Really? With me?" I ask, trying to see if she was being serious or not.
