Chapter 65 MARKED
~ Elara ~
I thought over what Wayne had told me.
How he said we'd work better being more then buddies.
I guess it sparked a flame in my brain, because after that I realized all the other gestures he'd shown me probably weren't friendly.
I think Wayne liked me.
And not in a friendly way but in a I want to date you way. I'm not sure how I felt about that yet, but when the realization hit its not like I was upset.
I felt warm inside, I could tell there had been a smile on my face. But did I like Wayne back?
Well, that didn't matter.
It's not like I'd make it in my life far enough to have to think about that.
My fingers hold onto the straps of my backpack tightly as I slowly walk outside of the school with my head low.
I knew each second of the day was only ticking closer and closer to the meet up with Andrew. It was eating away at me inch by inch, haunting my every thought.
The sounds of my classmates around me just sounded like mumbles as they all got in their expensive rides back home.
Everyone had just been talking about Wayne and Calvin’s birthday party all day.
They made it seem like some celebrities party, which was close enough.
I'm sure it was impossible for anyone to get an invite.
I bit my lip in thought as I go on my walking route back to the estate. Should I get Wayne a birthday gift? Did Calvin even deserve one from me?
I almost laugh at my thoughts. What could they possibly not have being raised with so much money.
It would be pathetic to even try getting them a gift.
My body suddenly tenses as I'm walking when a familiar motorcycle speeds by. The sound digs into my ears as I try to ignore how it had slowed down ahead of me to a stop.
I swallow the lump in my throat as I contemplate on walking to the other side of the street so I can avoid Calvin .
Unfortunately he was already off of the motorcycle and taking off his helmet before I could decide.
I could see through my peripheral vision as he looked my way, running a hand through his messy hair.
My heart was racing nervously as I attempt to just walk by like I hadn't seen him. Sadly his large hand grips onto my backpack and drags me back towards his body before I can even escape.
"O... oh I didn't see you there." I laugh nervously, looking up at his dark eyes. He still had a firm grip on my backpack as he looked down at me.
" Get on." He orders, pushing his helmet onto my head suddenly. I stumble in my steps at the sudden weight on my head, holding onto the helmet to keep me in place.
" Why? Where are you taking me?" I ask, too scared to hear the answer as I lean my head up to look at his standing form with my head tilted to the side.
Calvin just looks down at me with his brows furrowed, his eyes looking over me.
" You look stupid in that." Is all he says before sitting on the motorcycle.
"Rude." I mutter under my breath before crossing my arms over my chest as I look down at his sitting form.
" Why should I come with you? You made the entire school hate me even more then they already do." I mumble, nervously playing with my fingers.
I usually don't confront people like this, especially not to someone like Calvin .
But for some reason I wasn't as scared of him anymore. I knew he wouldn't hurt me, hopefully.
"A.and you...you stole my first kiss, I didn't like that." I rant out. Calvin just sits there, watching me as he listens to whatever I was saying. The motorcycle helmet covering my face was making me too confident, because as soon as the words leave my mouth I feel instant regret.
"Take off that helmet." He says, a dark look in his eyes as he watches me. I slowly shake my head no, scared at what he was trying to do.
Calvin’s jaw clenches before he stands up, towering over my shorter frame. His hands grab my helmet, pulling it off of my head.
" You didn't like the kiss?" He mutters lowly, not as a question. He knew I was lying, he knew I liked it.
I watch him as he looks down at me, my breaths ragged as I try to control my nerves at his close distance.
"S...stop it." I breathe out as he steps closer to me, his large hand cupping the side of my face and tilting it upwards. I could feel his minty breath against mine, the distance making my heart go crazy.
"You like it when I touch you, Lara?" He mumbles, and I feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise up at the touch of his hand pushing my hair behind my ear.
"N...no." I lie, gasping when his arm wraps around my lower waist and I'm pushed against his chest. I tried my best to ignore his eyes on me. It felt like he could see right through me, through every feeling in me, every thought going through my head.
I look up at him, confused when he grabs my hand and places it on top of my chest so I could feel the fast beating of my heart, so fast it felt like it would nearly beat out.
" Don't lie to me, angel." He says, suddenly letting go of me as he pushes the helmet back onto my head. I stand there, frozen in thought as I watch him with my lips parted.
My cheeks turn red in embarrassment when I realize what he'd done. How did he know how fast my heart beat around him?
I watch him as he leans his head down to me height, looking at me through the helmet on me. " Now get on before someone fires you for being late to work."
He smirks before walking back towards the motorcycle as if nothing just happened.
What was going on with me? Why was whatever he was doing making me feel weird?
Hesitantly my feet drag me towards the motorcycle as I sit down silently.
I knew he was going to speed like he always did, and a part of me just wanted to run away from him while he wasn't looking.
I'm about to build up the courage to run away until Calvin grabs my hands and wraps it around his waist.
"Hold on tight."
" Calvin?" I mumble nervously, feeling his body go tense under my hands.
" What is it Lara."
"Your not going to kill me on this thing are you?" I say, holding on even tighter when the loud sound of the motorcycle reaches my ears.
" Probably not."
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion at the answer.
What was that supposed to mean?
Much to my surprise, he didn't speed once.
It'd probably been the calmest I've seen him driving anything.
Which was shocking coming from Calvin.
When we reach the house I get a notification on my phone, causing my stomach to drop. It was Andrew.
I open the message to a picture of a loaded gun and another one of me walking out of the estate going to school.
