Chapter 73

Alessia.

Two days later.

"Is everything ready?" Annie popped her head through the curtain she was hiding. "If you're not ready then let's back out. I told you to hide. What if he comes inside now." I threw her a glare.

Annie had asked me to help her in making Kelvin confess. I mean I do believe he would do that when he's ready but Annie doesn't want to buy my idea saying unless she pushes him to, he won't take a step and she doesn't want to be the one to do that.

We have been coming up with plans for the past two days which hasn't been going through. The first one was a dinner which Kelvin called in for an emergency at the last minute. The second one, Lillian helped too. But it still didn't go well.

We then decided to kick him by the ass this time around. Annie would hide behind the curtains while I would attack Kelvin with questions and he'd possibly have no choice but to confess his love. What we did was pretend Annie was sick.

"Go." I hushed her when I heard the sound of steps approaching the door. Annie quickly covered the curtains while I went ahead and opened the door to her room for him. "You're here Kelvin," I said.

"Where is she?" He asked his eyes going around the dim light room.

"She just entered the bathroom. Come in." I opened the door for him. Annie stepped inside. I could see the nervousness inside of him.

"How is Angelo?" I didn't even know why I asked when we were together with him a few hours ago. We nearly argued about his lack of concern for his health. I always try to make sure he takes his medication on time. Although the doctor assured us he'd be operated on within a few days, I couldn't bring myself to allow a chance that would make the situation worse before surgery. But Angelo prefers to go to and fro to the court for Dominic and my father's trial.

Angelo had suggested I pay him a visit which I was contemplating on. I told myself that I wouldn't have anything to do with him. But it won't be bad to have a conversation with him once.

"He's great. He was about to go to the court before I left the house."

"And you allowed him to?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"He doesn't listen to me, you know." Kelvin shrugged. "Why is she taking time? Has she taken her drugs? Hope it's not—"

"I thought you didn't care that much." I cut him off. "Of course I do."

"I don't think you do Kelvin. Let me ask you this since we're the only ones in the room. What's your relationship status?" His eyes briefly widened before he fixed it around somewhere in the room.

"I don't have time for dating." He answered. I was sure Annie would be fuming with anger behind the curtain.

"You don't? You don't have a crush on someone or even like someone. Like Annie."

"An—nie. She's like a sister to me." I could swear I saw the curtain make a move. I just pray she won't appear right now. I needed to push him button more.

"A sister? Are you sure? But she told me you kissed her the only day." Okay, Annie will kill me for this. It wasn't part of what we agreed on talking about to him.

"She did?" Shock danced on his face. "Uhm. Do brothers kiss their sisters?"

His silence made me continue. I took a step forward folding my arms across my chest. "What is holding you back, Kelvin? Annie is a beautiful woman. You guys get along so I don't see any problem in dating each other."

He cast his head down. "I don't know. But I feel like I'm not up to her standard. You know, she's Angelo's cousin. And I work for Angelo. What will—"

"Okay, so you prefer another man to slide that ring in her fingers right before your eyes, right?"

"What? Who is Annie seeing? Who is he?" He looked more serious than before. I decided to make the situation hot. "I don't know. I saw her talking to someone. And from the way she was giggling, he was already winning her heart. She seems happy. And I think it's good for her. She might tie the knot real soon."

"No."

"What does that mean?" I asked him. "She can't. I mean she shouldn't just accept any man without knowing about them."

"And you think she doesn't? Look, Kelvin, it's good that you clear things off for me. I can support her confidently now. All the best." I patted his arm and proceeded to take off.

"Wait, Alessia." A smile curved up my lips. I knew it would work. I turned around and frowned my face. "I don't have the courage. Please help me."

"Help you with what?"

"I like Annie. No, I love her. I've had my eyes on her since the very first day I set my eyes on her. But I was scared and didn't know how to confess. I don't know how to but I can't bear to see her with another man. I need her in my life. Please help me."

"If you need her be a man and claim her as yours," Annie spoke up as she dashed out of the curtain. Kelvin's eyes widened to a certain degree as he fixed his eyes on her. "You asshole!" Before Annie could haul her attack, I darted for the door.

"All the best lover birds!" I waved and took off. I pray things will go smoothly between them.

"I should go check up on Angelo." I muffled out as I absentmindedly walked away. However, a gasp escaped my lips when I was suddenly dragged to a room. My back collided with the closed door, a familiar eyes attacked mine.

"Why are you here?" I asked in surprise. Angelo caged me in his arms. "Because I've missed you." He whispered. His touch didn't fail to ignite fire out of my body and his voice was enough to send shivers down my spine. "You should have called," I uttered avoiding his gaze.

"I couldn't think straight. I knew I had to come here. I wanted to feel your lips so badly."

Damn! Angelo will kill me with his deep voice. How can he be perfect? "But you're sick." I tried to come up with an excuse. Angelo pinned me more to the door, his hand sliding down to my waist. I thought my skin would burn from how hot his hands were on my waist.

"You're my cure. Kiss me before I go crazy." He whispered in a seductive yet loving way. "You're so bad."

"I'm bad for my, Bella. How do—" I didn't allow him to complete his sentence before I smashed my lips on his. Angelo responded with much intensity. His body weight was all pressed on mine as he deepened the kiss. I parted my lips giving him more access to explore my lips.

My eyes closed on their own when Angelo's hand began roaming all around my body, powering the cells in my body. I felt a strong need engulfed me. But all of a sudden, the hands that were undressing me began shaking. His weight went heavier. I slowly pulled away to see Angelo's body shaking immensely. "What's wrong, Angelo? Are you okay?"

Before I could hold on to his body well, he staggered back and fell on the floor. "Angelo!" I shouted. His eyelids were shaking and every part of his body. "Kelvin! Annie! Help!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

After a few seconds, the door was kicked with Kelvin hot on his tail. He crouched down to the floor and picked up Angelo. "We have to take him to the hospital, immediately!" Kelvin panted out.
