Chapter 91 Facing the bully
Facing the bully
Milo pov
My mouth went dry, but that was just from the shock of how the unbearable pressure just vanished into thin air. I clenched my fist by my side and gritted my teeths, careful not to let my fear show.
“I only defended someone who could not defend herself.”
Gasps of shock came from the crowd of kneeling wolves. No one dared to speak back to an alpha, especially not a visiting Alpha like Alpha kael.
The surrounding wolves reactions told me that I have made the biggest mistake of my life. I braced myself for the unexpected, but instead of the fury that I expected, the alpha's scarred face twisted into something that looked like a smile, but I didn't see anything like amusement in his hardened face… It was far more dangerous, like a predator who had just found an interesting prey.
“You are a feisty little one” he murmured, I fought the urge to hide my body, as his eyes raked over me hungrily, “Most omegas break the moment I look their way. But you…” His lips curved into a dark smile, as he tilted his head, coming closer to sniff my neckline.
My throat tightened at the proximity. My omega instincts kicked against my restraints, demanding that I kneel before an alpha and ask for forgiveness, but I fought back, keeping my face as neutral as possible.
“Milo…. Please don't” daphne whispered hoarsely behind me, tugging at my cloak.
The Alpha towered over me, his shadow swallowing mine immediately. His expression twisted into a frown that made him even more hideous. He tugged at the leash in his hands, immediately the girl stumbled forward, head down, like a perfect trained pet.
A painful whimpered echoed through the surrounding as the hideous Alpha held his pet by the throat, lifting her up effortlessly. The girl's eyes bulged out, as she struggled to breath with a choking sound.
My stomach sank. All my body mechanism and disgust for bullying the weak screamed for me to do something, but there was one thing being brave, and another being stupid. I knew what the Alpha was doing, he was proving a point.
“I like fire in the weak ones. Makes it more entertaining to break…” His eyes never leaving mine, his hands tightened, by now the girls struggling were now a bunch of weak little protests that were barely noticeable.
My blood flowed in reverse. I could feel my blood boiling with a sizzling sound. A deep anger that I didn't know I had, began to form inside my chest. But I held it in, barely.
My eyes narrowed almost to a slit, “Release her, you demon.”
The air shifted very fast, I felt a ripple of energy roll out from him, before in a flash his iron grip was closed in, on my throat, brushing over my jugular vein. One time he was choking his pet, the next moment he was in my front, his hands around my throat.
“You are a big mouthed omega,” he snarled, his grip becoming more painful, “and probably the last there will be…”
Something in his tone made my stomach knot. His eyes didn’t just see me as somebody. They saw me as a thing, an object, something unworthy. As I looked into his blazing yellow eyes, I saw all the loathing and disgust that I had tried to move on from, all of it laid bare infrastructure of me.
“They caused you pain… accept me, let's kill the bastard, destroy them all” the voice so clear like never before kept on repeating in my head.
My vision changed, the voice in my head increased, becoming more insistent as time went by. The heat inside my chest surged without my control, but then before it could explode…
“Milo, Enough.”
The voice was sharp, commanding, and annoyingly familiar. It tugged deep inside my being, deeper than where the strange voice in my head could reach.
“Step away from him” Damon growled, breaking the tension. Both of us turned at the same time to see him marching angrily towards us, his aura exploded at his back, like a whip, it crashed into the hideous Alpha’s. Wolves instinctively bowed down lower, caught between two Alphas tests of dominance that crushed the air. Unyielding, and unrelenting.
“Step away from him, now.” Damon growled.
The Alpha laughed, as though this was nothing but mere sport to him. “So, this little spark belongs to you?” His eyes gleamed but this time, with a kind of light that was not there before. “I should have guessed. Only someone like you would keep a boy with a mouth that runs like a tap.”
I narrowed my eyes in confusion, at the way Damon’s body tensed. He didn’t reply nor say anything else. He moved with long strides, stepping in the middle of the alpha and i, and quickly dragged me back behind him, shielding me from the hideous alpha. His face was contorted in an ugly expression, his body was still tense, like a spring that would snap at any time.
I have never seen him like this when talking to anyone, almost like he was scared about something.
“He is mine,” Damon said coldly, dragging me to himself. "He is my pet. And no one touches what is mine.”
His voice rang through the air, the word pet was extremely loud and precise, like he wanted to prove a point. But looking at the way his eyes glared at the alpha, I understood something, He wasn’t just claiming me. He was warning a tyrant to back off.
The Alpha gave a low chuckled, his eyes flicking between Damon and me that was hidden at his back, his smile widened as though Damon had just confirmed something for him. “A boy pet, hmm very interesting choice Damon.”
The Alpha had no atom of fear in his face while addressing Damon. Instead I saw a strange competitive light that I only see in alphas that are fighting for their territories.
I didn't know why, but I felt my gut twisting painfully.
“I am yet to see all the other interesting things your pack has to offer, mate.” He gave a chilling laugh, then he turned and walked on, dragging the chained girl with him.
I stood frozen, my heart continued to pound in my chest from the lingering adrenalin that was still running inside my system. My whole body trembled from the clash of fear, rage, and something else, something I couldn’t name…
Damon didn’t look at me again. Didn’t say a word as he turned, His hands lingering on mine for one or two seconds before he let go.
“Go back home, and wait for me.”
That was his only words, before he left, a silent command that ran through my body like an electric shock.
