Chapter 258: last dance 4
pov
The pleasure increased tenfold the moment Damon's teeth sank into my mating mark.
White-hot ecstasy exploded through every nerve ending in my body, so intense I couldn't even scream. My back arched impossibly high off the bed, my mouth open in a silent cry as the sensation overwhelmed every sense I possessed. Through our bond, the connection between us blazed like a supernova, fusing us together in a way that transcended the physical.
I felt his seed flood my insides, hot and claiming, marking me in the most primal way possible. But it was more than that—I could feel his soul touching mine, his essence mingling with my own until we were truly one being sharing two bodies.
The orgasm seemed endless, rolling through me in wave after devastating wave. My vision went completely white, then fractured into kaleidoscope colors I didn't have names for. Every cell in my body sang with pleasure so profound it bordered on painful.
Damon's roar of completion vibrated against my throat where his teeth still held me, the sound purely animalistic. Through the bond, I felt his climax crashing into him with the same devastating force, felt his wolf finally recognizing and claiming its true mate after months of separation and uncertainty.
Time lost all meaning. We could have been frozen like that for seconds or hours—I genuinely couldn't tell. All I knew was the feeling of being completely, utterly claimed. Owned. Cherished. Loved beyond measure.
When Damon finally released my throat, licking tenderly at the fresh bite mark, the aftershocks were still rolling through both of us. My body trembled uncontrollably, oversensitive and wrung out in the best possible way.
"Milo," Damon breathed against my neck, his voice wrecked. "Oh goddess, Milo."
I couldn't form words yet. Could only whimper as smaller waves of pleasure continued to pulse through me, each one making my already exhausted body jerk and clench around him.
We stayed locked together like that, both of us trembling and gasping for breath, our bodies refusing to separate even as the intensity slowly, gradually began to fade. Damon's weight pressed me deep into the mattress, grounding me, anchoring me to reality when I felt like I might float away entirely.
"I've got you," Damon murmured, pressing kisses along my jaw, my cheeks, my forehead—anywhere he could reach. "I've got you, baby. You're safe. You're mine. I've got you."
His litany of reassurance helped pull me back from wherever that transcendent experience had sent me. Slowly, sensation returned to my limbs. My vision cleared. My breathing evened out, though my heart still raced like I'd run a marathon.
"That was..." I started, but couldn't finish. There weren't words in any language for what we'd just experienced.
"I know," Damon agreed, understanding perfectly through our bond. "I didn't expect—the second mating bite, after everything you've been through, with your new power—goddess, Milo, I felt like I was dying and being reborn all at once."
"Exactly," I whispered, finally managing to open my eyes and meet his gaze.
What I saw there stole my breath all over again. Damon's eyes were still glowing gold, but softer now, filled with such raw emotion that tears pricked at my own eyes. Love, devotion, possessiveness, gratitude—it was all there, written plainly across his face.
"I love you," he said, and the words carried the weight of a sacred vow. "I love you more than I thought it was possible to love anyone. You are everything to me—my mate, my omega, my future, my reason for existing."
A tear slipped down my cheek. "I love you too. So much it terrifies me sometimes."
"Don't be terrified," Damon said gently, wiping away the tear with his thumb. "This is what we were always meant to have. This connection, this bond, this love. Everything before was just the universe pushing us toward this moment."
He started to pull away, probably planning to get something to clean us both up, but I tightened my legs around his waist immediately.
"Not yet," I said, my voice still rough. "Stay. Just... stay inside me for a while longer. I need to feel you."
Understanding flooded through our bond. Damon settled his weight more carefully, adjusting so he wasn't crushing me but still remained deeply seated inside my body.
"As long as you need," he promised, pressing a soft kiss to my lips. "I'm not going anywhere."
We lay like that in comfortable silence, trading lazy kisses and gentle touches. My hands explored the planes of his back, tracing the muscles I'd missed touching during my recovery. His fingers carded through my sweat-dampened hair, massaging my scalp in a way that made me practically purr.
"You know," I said eventually, a drowsy smile tugging at my lips, "we probably traumatized half the castle with our noise."
Damon chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest into mine. "The soundproofing isn't that bad. Besides, they all know what mating sounds like. It's natural."
"Still embarrassing," I mumbled, feeling heat creep up my neck. "Especially when you made me scream about letting everyone know who was claiming me."
"You loved every second of it," Damon countered, and he wasn't wrong. "But if it bothers you, we can add additional soundproofing. Though..." He paused, his eyes gleaming mischievously. "I kind of like knowing that they know. That there's no doubt in anyone's mind that you're mine and I'm yours."
His possessiveness should probably annoy me, but instead it sent a warm flutter through my chest. After months of feeling weak and vulnerable, being claimed so thoroughly felt incredibly affirming.
"Yours," I agreed softly, pressing a kiss to his jaw. "Always yours. Just like you're always mine."
"Always," Damon confirmed. Then his expression turned more serious. "How are you feeling? Really? I didn't hurt you, did I? I tried to be careful, but toward the end I lost control and—"
"You didn't hurt me," I interrupted, placing my fingers over his lips. "I'm not fragile anymore, Damon. I can handle you at full strength. That's what I've been trying to tell you—I'm different now. Stronger. Powerful enough to match you."
"You're also barely two months recovered from dying," Damon pointed out, though his tone was gentle rather than scolding. "I don't want to push you too hard too fast."
I shifted beneath him, deliberately clenching my muscles around his softening length still inside me. Damon's eyes fluttered closed, a groan escaping his lips.
"Does that feel like I'm too weak?" I asked innocently.
"Point taken," he muttered, opening his eyes to fix me with a look that promised retribution. "You're going to be the death of me, omega."
"Good thing I know how to bring people back from the dead then," I quipped, and we both laughed at the dark humor.
Outside our window, I could hear the first birds beginning their morning songs. Dawn was approaching, which meant Ezra would wake soon, hungry and demanding attention. Our peaceful bubble was about to burst.
But for now, wrapped in my mate's arms with his body still joined to mine, I let myself just exist in this moment. This perfect, precious moment of intimacy and connection.
