Chapter 140 Hello brother
Chapter 140: Hello brother
Milo POV
The sound of the door creaking open echoed through the darkness, light spilled through the room, illuminating the faces of the intruders.
This time, it wasn't Cornelius or the generals. Men in black masks entered my cell. They moved like shadows, silent and quick, without making any sound.
"What do you want?" I asked, but my voice came out weak.
They didn't answer. They never did.
I felt the chain around me loosen for a moment only to be replaced with a heavier one that suddenly made me feel so weak all round my body.
“What…” I tried to struggle, but my words came out slurred.
One of them pulled out a needle. Long and sharp. I had seen it before. Too many times from the pack hospital.
"No," I tried to move away, but the chains held me tight. "Please, not again."
The needle went into my arm. I bit my lip to stop screaming. The pain was nothing compared to what came next.
Blood, They were taking my blood again.
Red filled the tube attached to the needle in a few minutes or maybe hours, I couldn't tell which was which, as I saw myself drifting in and out of consciousness.
Then, another tube filled up, followed by another.
My head started spinning. How much blood could a person lose before...
"Careful," one masked man said suddenly. "We need him alive."
"The Queen wants more," another replied. "His blood is special."
"The Moonfire Gene," the first one said. "Who would have thought it would be in an omega?"
Moonfire Gene? What were they talking about?
"Such power," the second man continued, watching my blood fill another bag. "Infinite power, if the stories are true."
"They are true. The Queen confirmed it herself."
My vision started getting blurry. Black spots danced in front of my eyes.
"That's enough for now," someone said. "We don't want to kill him yet."
Yet…
That word echoed in my head as they pulled out the needle.
"When?" one asked.
"Tomorrow. During the blood moon. First, we use him to get the cursed alpha."
"And then?"
"Then we kill the cursed alpha. The Queen will be the only True Alpha left. The prophecy will be complete."
Noo, They were going to kill Damon. Tomorrow is the blood moon, that's why they were holding me hostage.
The door slammed shut after they left with the tube of blood they had collected from me.
I was alone again. With only the darkness to be my helper and only friend.
My arm throbbed where the needle had been. Blood still dripped from the wound. They hadn't even bothered to bandage it properly.
I tried to reach out through the bond. To feel him for the last time, to warn him.
But I was too weak. The bond felt like a thin thread, ready to snap.
“Don't come, I thought desperately. It's a trap. Please don't come.”
But I knew he would never listen. right now, he might be looking for a way to get me out.
And he would fight his way here to save me. he would come
And they would kill him.
Tears ran down my face. Not from pain. From knowing I was the bait that would destroy him.
The Moonfire Gene. Infinite power. True Alpha.
Words that meant nothing to me. Words that were going to get us killed.
My eyes started closing. The blood loss was too much.
As darkness slowly took me, I heard something distant and far away.
Like a brokened howl.
Was it real? Or was my lightheadedness really affecting my thinking, to the extent I was now hearing sounds?
I didn't know anymore.
All I knew was that tomorrow was the blood moon.
And tomorrow, everything will end.
I didn't know how much time had passed since the masked men came to collect blood from me. And I didn't know when they would come back again either.
Being strapped into a metal platform with no one to talk to and no sense of what is happening around you was the worst kind of torture and suspense that anyone could undergo.
The door opening woke me up from my restless sleep.
I flinched instinctively, my heart racing in my chest.
Have they come to collect another blood? Has time reached for the execution? Did they capture Damon?
Different sinister thoughts ran through my head at the spot, but I realised that the person that entered was a strange person I had not seen. it wasn't the masked men. It wasn't the generals.
It was a woman.
I swallowed hard, amazed at the way her aura and charisma seemed to fill the whole room, just from her presence.
My body tensed involuntarily. Whoever this one was, she was somebody important.
She wore a long black cloak that covered most of her face. But when our gazes collided, my eyes widened like saucers.
I suddenly felt inferior, like I was at the bottom of the food chain, a feeling I hadn't felt for a very long time now.
The soft echoe of her shoe seemed to vibrate deep into my soul, like I was. The prey and she was the predator.
But that wasn’t the worse. The feeling of danger intensified as her cold calculating gaze landed on me.
I immediately felt a wave of nostalgia, like i have seen her before...
Too familiar.
The world stopped for me.
My blood seemed to flow in reverse. Unimaginable shock passed through my already battered body like electricity.
“Nooo It couldn't be” I whispered,
The woman pulled back her hood, and my worst fear came to pass.
"Millen?" My voice cracked.
My twin sister smiled… The same smile she used to give me when we were kids. Before everything changed between us.
"Hello, brother... we need to talk."
