Chapter 138 Destined

Chapter 138 Destined
Chapter 138: Destined

Milo's POV

“I am so sorry…”

I woke up gasping. Sweat covering my body despite the chilling temperature. My heart was racing, but it was for a different reason entirely.

I had heard him…,

Damon, I had heard him apologizing in my sleep through the fragile bond. But then I didn't know why he was apologizing

What in the world has he done?…

The door to my cell opened with a loud creak.

Cornelius walked in. This time, Catherine hadn't followed him. Ever since she left me here, no one had bothered to come inside.

I was not shocked seeing corneliuse here, infact i was expecting it, but then i was not expecting the two men that came after him to be part of their group.

General Elijah. And General Garth.

My heart sank. Two of his generals are traitors, and not just that, even cornelius a shadow had also betrayed him, even Catherine and then one other person in his pack, his sister, Selene.

All were traitors.

"Hello, little omega," Cornelius said cheerfully, "Miss us?"

"Traitors," I spat, staring at them with disgust and enough hatred I could muster.

"Such harsh words," Elijah said, pulling up a chair. "We prefer to think of ourselves as visionaries."

"All of you betrayed Damon! Your Alpha!"

"A weak Alpha," Garth corrected. "A cursed Alpha who will destroy us all."

I gritted my teeth so hard I felt it crack. "The curse isn't his fault…"

"No, but keeping him in power is," Elijah said. "Do you know what the curse does? Every blood moon, he loses control completely. Becomes a mindless beast."

"Last time, he killed a hundred of his own warriors, and he even caused the death of his mate…”

“It's all a lie.” I yelled at him, willing my ears not to hear anything coming out of his mouth.

“Milo, this is a top secret I am telling you. Your precious Alpha killed his mate. Garth added. "This time, with the curse getting worse, who knows how many will die?"

"You are lying."

"Are we?" Cornelius pulled out a rolled paper. "This is a report from 10 years ago when it all happened. The last blood moon. Would you like me to read the names of the dead?"

I turned my head away.

"That's what I thought," he said. "Face it, omega. Your precious Alpha is a ticking bomb. And we are trying to save everyone from the explosion."

"By starting a war?" I shot back. "By working with the Righteous Pack?"

"The war was necessary," Elijah said calmly. "To show the pack how weak Damon has become. How unfocused. How dangerous."

"And it worked," Garth smiled. "Right now, Damon is probably locked in his Room of Chains, hiding from what he's done."

Room of Chains? What was that?

"Oh, you didn't know?" Cornelius laughed. "Your Alpha has a special prison. Filled with wolfsbane and silver. He locks himself there during the blood moon period.”

"But this time," Elijah said, "it won't be enough. The curse has grown too powerful. And without you there to calm him..."

They all shared a look.

"What do you mean, calm him?" I asked.

"You really don't know anything, do you?" Garth shook his head. "You are his mate, boy. Your presence keeps the curse under control."

"That's impossible. I am an omega. A male omega. We can't be…"

"Mates?" Elijah finished. "Tell that to the bond between you. Tell that to the mark on your neck."

I reached up to touch my neck. There was a scar there. From when Damon had saved me by giving me his blood. I remembered asking what it was about, but as usual, I was kept in the dark.

Did he really give me just his blood?

"That's not a normal scar," Cornelius continued. "That is a mating mark. He claimed you during the ritual."

My mind was spinning. No matter how fast I tried to process whatever I was hearing, my brain couldn't just keep up.

Mates? We were mates?

Damon had marked me without my consent?

"But that's not why we're here," Elijah said, standing up. "We're here to tell you about your future."

"My future?"

"The Council has big plans for you," Garth said, coming closer to stand beside the stone platform I was lying on. "You see, you are special. More special than you know."

"I'm just an omega…"

"No." Elijah's voice was firm. "You're much more. The Queen confirmed it herself."

"The Queen you keep talking about," I said. "Who is she?"

They shared another look.

"You'll meet her soon enough," Cornelius said. "But first, she wants us to prepare you."

"Prepare me for what?" I couldn't help the desperation that was creeping into my voice. All the suspense and staying in the dark were getting to my head.

"For the truth about what you are," Elijah said. "You see, there's a prophecy. An old one. About two True Alphas being born in the same generation."

My blood went cold. "But Damon is the only True Alpha…"

"Is he?" Garth smiled. "Think about it. Your red fiery wolf is as rare as a blue moon. we had all seen how your blood healed any kind of sickness, the way you fought Selene and almost won."

"That doesn't mean…"

"It means everything," Elijah interrupted. "You are not just an omega, boy. You are something that shouldn't exist. A True Alpha born in an omega's body."

"That's impossible!"

"Is it? You have felt it, haven't you? The power inside you, that keeps on getting stronger and stronger without you doing anything."

I blanked, numerous weird and bizarre things I had overlooked as luck playing inside my head like film in slow motion. I am an omega passing the induction of the shadow units, and not just that, i had even passed it with a golden badge, something that had only occurred twice since time memorial. Then the fight between me, selene, and i. That strange energy that kept getting bigger… my body shuddered uncontrollably, because I just realised something terrifying...

No matter how I tried to look into that strange energy that threatens to overwhelm me, it's like looking into an endless pit.

An unending pit.

"The prophecy says that when two True Alphas exist, they must fight…"

Their voices sounded in the background ,but I was not listening. My mind kept on repeating their words. Me, a true alpha.

"No." My voice shook

"You won't have a choice, Milo," Garth said. "It's destiny, that's written in the stars. One must die for the other to reach full power."

"But the Queen has a different plan," Elijah said. "Perhaps a more favorable path for you.”

“I don't care about your stupid qu…”

"You are left with no choice but to. Elijah cut me off, walking to the door. "But know this, you will never see Damon again."

"He'll find me," I said desperately. "He'll come for me."

"Oh, we're counting on it," Garth smiled. "In fact, we have prepared a special trap just for him."

"What?"

"Did you think we just wanted you?" Cornelius laughed. "No, no. You are the bait, little omega. And knowing who Damon is, he will come for you. Just like a mouse is attracted to cheeks.”

"When Damon comes for you… we will be ready," Elijah said. "The prophecy says only one True Alpha can live. We're going to make sure it's the right one."

The door slammed shut behind them.

I was shaking. Not from the cold now, but from fear.

They were using me as bait to trap Damon.

And worse, they might be right about what I was.

A True Alpha? An abomination?

I remembered the red wolf in my dreams that was destroying everything and causing havoc to the people.

What if it was me?

What if I was really the monster?

But that would mean...

My throat bubbled hard as I swallowed dry spit.

That would mean Damon and I were destined to fight…

Destined for one of us to die...
