Break up with your boyfriend...
I woke up to one of the worst headaches I'd had in a very long time. I could not even explain why my head was aching so much.
The events of last night came flooding into my memory all at once. I sat up on the bed, my kind drifting off to every single thing that had happened.
I knew that Luciano had dropped me off after we left the bakery. How I got inside and Lilian and Greg were sleeping and his I got to sleep in my bed.
I did not know if I had eating anything after coming back again. I did not take any alcohol so maybe I was just tired from the unnecessary dress.
My dress had given me a lot if problems but thankfully, I was able to strip it off then get to bed.
I do remember that Luciano had made me an offer to sleep over at his house since it was very late but I refused. J had to refuse or else I would be letting my guard down around a man that was possibly wanted by all. He had too many women around him, I did not need all that drama.
After going about my morning routine, I finally went downstairs. I was taking my time this morning because I knew that Luciano had given me one week off. I still had to report to his office but it did not have to be so early anymore.
I was usually not the lazy type bit he would turn down an opportunity to have a full with to theirself? After the unnecessary stitching and making of ball gowns, I think I needed a break. A long break, very long break. After that, I could come back to work with a new agenda and healthy spirit.
"Good morning." I greeted immediately I got to the kitchen.
"We have not seen you for two consecutive days." Lilian said immediately, her face etched in a smile.
"Where have you been?" Greg asked from the living room, his newspaper covering his face. I could not read his emotions since he was busy with the newspaper.
Who still read newspapers? I really felt that was just his way if ignoring Lilian for as long as possible. It was cute if you asked me. They were keeping a very defined distance between each other, that means there was still friction left.
"I've been working." I announced before taking a sit on one of the kitchen stools.
Lilian raised her brows. "I am worried about your new job." She announced.
My heart raced immediately. What did she mean by new job? I hope it's not what I'm thinking. I did not tell her I had signed any contract. As far as I was concerned, they still thought I was just busy with my company.
Why was she implying that I had a new contract? Oh, goodness! I can not be dealing with any of this right now.
"What new job?" I asked chuckling nervously.
She folded her arms. "don't you understand what I am saying?"
I scratched the back of my head. "No, I don't understand what you're saying."
She sighed exasperatedly. "you have been unavailable for quite some time due to this your job. It's almost like you now have two jobs..."
"That is not the case!" I sighed in relief cutting her off. "I've just been get busy trying to make a name for myself."
"You have already made a name for yourself." Greg imputed this time.
"It is never enough. Besides, j love what I do. It's my way if letting loose." I argued. Grateful that they were still in the dark about my contract.
"You're beginning to let yourself go." Lilian snapped.
I frowned. What was that even supposed to mean? "What do you mean by that? How am I letting myself go"
"You barely have time for your personal life!" She queried.
I shook my head in disagreement then interjected, "my job is my personal life! You both know how hard u worked to have a company if my own! I did not go through all that just to sit down and have fun?"
"You are not getting any younger Anastasia!"
"I am not even almost thirty! Please! My job is what I want to focus on now!" I snapped.
I did not plan to let myself go off like that but I had to defend my love for my craft.
"You said you had a boyfriend." Lilian stated.
I rolled my eyes. "yes, I have a boyfriend..."
"Doesn't he winder why you are so unavailable?" She asked, her voice rising with each word.
I furrowed my brows, trying to understand what she just said. Even if j really had a boyfriend, it was none if his business if I wanted to work as much as I wanted. "how does that come into any of this?"
"It comes in because I want to know if your boyfriend has issues with your working habit."
"Well, he does not. Be works too and besides, no man is going to tell me how I live my life. A life that I spent years building before I met him. It's not happening." I said to her.
She shook her head. "I knew that whomever you were dating was not man enough. If he was, he would have put you..."
"There is no man that can use me as an excuse to be man enough. I like my boyfriend. He's good enough for me. That's enough." I insisted.
"What is enough is not what matters. I have to look out for you!" Lilian snapped.
Why were we even having a conversation about who I chose to be with? This was one if the reasons why I never liked to stay at Lilian and Greg's place. She always had a way of trying to get control in my life.
"You need to break up with your boyfriend." She suddenly said.
Okay, what?
