Chapter 62 Will Meeting You
A letter arrived at Kay's apartment. Soon after, Toni contacted the man and informed him that this was quite a pleasant experience. It was a direct invitation from Mr. Adam, along with an apology and thanks. He apologized for not being able to meet Kay in person some time ago, and thanked her for the gift, which was truly extraordinary.
"It seems he's fallen for a trap, or perhaps he's just curious about me."
Julia, who had just served some freshly made drinks, furrowed her eyebrows, deeply intrigued by what her husband had just said. She picked up the letter her husband had been reading, and realized that there were some very serious details.
The invitation was from Mr. Adam, and it was a family dinner, meaning it wasn't a public event; it was a special event for only the two of them. This, of course, was quite telling, and anyone who knew about it would naturally focus on two points. At first, Mr. Adam might have been very curious and wanted to thank him directly. But secondly, there was certainly suspicion that Mr. Adam might have set some kind of trap, and that was absolutely unthinkable for Kay.
"You can't possibly go alone, right? Even if you think you're such a great man and capable of anything, I just want to advise you never to go alone, because this is something truly terrifying. I don't know what they've prepared, but it's clear they're very likely, beyond our suspicions, not good people, and they'll likely do anything to make you feel like a terrible person. I don't want you to be trapped, and I don't want you to be treated like the stupidest person in the world."
Kay was deeply touched by Julia's words. Being with the woman beside him, now his wife, truly made him feel incredibly happy and appreciated. Some were worried, and others were paying attention, and that was Julia.
"Would you like to come with me? I think it would be more fun if this family dinner was attended by our immediate family, right? That way, we would truly feel the warmth of family, and this would be a very pleasant experience for all of us."
"Will you let me come?"
"You're my wife; there's no reason for me to stop you from joining me for dinner and accompanying you. And if you come, the man won't suspect anything, because we're husband and wife."
Julia couldn't even say anything. She wanted to say many things to her husband, but she was already traumatized by what happened some time ago when her husband suddenly became cold towards her simply because he didn't want to discuss such a complex issue: the heart and feelings. However, as the days went by, Julia began to feel that her feelings could no longer be contained, and she understood that what she felt was love, and that it could never be challenged by anyone. A feeling that slowly grew from the intensity of their meetings and from how they always strengthened and complemented each other. A feeling no one could ever describe, and now it's become a point of reference that no one can ever deny. Julia assures us that this is a truly sincere love.
"I've never felt anything this deep, and I don't know how to describe it to you."
The woman muttered as her husband left, then smiled wryly. She didn't dare say it directly because she knew she was a loser.
That morning, the two of them got ready, ordering the clothes they would wear that night. Since it was a special day, of course, they had to prepare everything well.
"Are you sure you won't bring anything else besides this? Just in case, they might have prepared an unpleasant surprise for us. Judging by the party they threw, there were some suspicious people keeping watch. I'm worried they've also arranged for those creepy people to keep an eye on us behind the room where we'll likely meet."
Kay paused for a moment, preparing for what Julia might be referring to.
"Have you prepared anything?"
"Of course. I'm quite meticulous in these matters, and I don't want us to be trapped by them. Just the thought of being killed makes my skin crawl."
Kay laughed at his wife's words. Sometimes, the content was so adorable that he couldn't just ignore it.
"Bring a small pistol and a sharp weapon that you can tuck away in a sensitive place so no one can find it. I'm afraid if you bring them all, suddenly some security officers will try to find out, and that would have fatal consequences. Then all our pretense would become very difficult to unravel."
"You're right, we don't have to make them so suspicious of us, because if we do, they'll do something that could be considered very bad. Moreover, we're alone, while they're likely with a crowd of people who will do anything they can because they feel safe in their own place."
"Okay, let's get it done, everyone. Your safety is my responsibility, and I will never let anyone hurt you. So don't worry, and trust me, I'll do anything for you. Now get ready, I've hired the most renowned makeup artist in the country to get you ready."
Julia couldn't believe how her husband could hire a makeup artist.
"You shouldn't be overdoing it like this, right? You've prepared something that feels so over the top to me. How could you prepare all this for me? I can do my own makeup without you having to hire such brilliant people and spend so much money."
"Since this is a semi-formal event, and the host is someone so important to us, we must present something valuable as well. We mustn't make them regret inviting us, especially with such a simple appearance. We must silence them and show them who we truly are."
"But wouldn't he be suspicious if he saw your face? Who knows, maybe it would remind him of your parents."
"I don't know. I don't know about that."
