Chapter 54 Kay Coming
And not long after that, her husband actually arrived. Even Julia didn't give any greeting other than dancing to her husband and telling him to sit down.
"What do you really want to talk about? Why are you suddenly pulling away like this? Don't you know I'm very tired and want to sleep? If you want to do it tomorrow, I don't mind at all."
"Are you only thinking about dirty fantasies with me? While I'm thinking about so many things you could have gone through so much better. First of all, didn't you promise me before you left on this case not to hurt anyone? Not to kill or injure anyone for any reason? Then why did I receive a report from my friend that your movements were already known to the state police syndicate, and more than that? From the news I heard, you injured a very well-known businessman in southern Berlin. Now tell me honestly what you did? Did you kill him?"
Kay could only sigh deeply because of course she knew this was one of the risks of marrying a member of the elite police force, not just about any problems, but also the possibility that if he were to have an affair, his wife would find out very quickly. However, it didn't matter to her at all, nor did it make her feel afraid or anything like that. More than anything, she felt incredibly calm, and this was one of the biggest reasons she remained completely indifferent to whatever was happening.
"You know that, you're overreacting, Miss Police."
"Don't tease me like that. Of course, even though I know you're a mafia member, I don't want to put you in trouble. You should try your best to minimize any potential harm, right? You shouldn't kill unless you're stealing a woman's chastity, and you shouldn't do anything stupid. I'll certainly accept that you're different from me. But how could you hurt that businessman?"
"Can you listen to my explanation without accusing me if I'm the one at fault first?"
Julia held her breath, then tried to calm her mind and heart as she sat with her husband and tried to pay attention to whatever he might explain to her.
"Say whatever you want to say, and I'll listen very carefully."
“The man came to me to make an offer, namely to sell illegal weapons that he got from one of the most terrible robbers in the world. He claimed that all the weapons he had were genuine and numbered 100 like what he sold me and not a single one he sold to other places. As a very famous mafia, I had to ensure the authenticity of the weapons, but unfortunately he only gave 20% of the total number of weapons he had stolen. Of course, I felt that I did not accept it and continued to give all the weapons and I did not even bargain for the price of the weapons at all. He only wanted my money and he insisted and said that all the weapons he had were genuine and that I had misunderstood and also seen wrong. Is it possible that he wanted to say that I was blind and did not understand the problem of weapons? until finally my group found a pile of weapons that he had deliberately kept to be sold to several other businessmen or even robbers and other mafia, I just didn't accept it, I took all the weapons, but one of them tried to hurt me, but they didn't know they were in contact with "Are they because I'm protected by God? It's only natural that they're the ones who get hurt first, even without my intervention at all."
Julia wanted to laugh at her husband's story. Even a criminal still mentions God's name, as if he's never done anything wrong and is the victim of everything that happens. The woman's initially furious expression changed to a much calmer one, then she remembered something—a secret she had to tell her husband.
"Do you remember the gemstone you wanted to give to Mr. Adam? I already did it last night."
"You're going to cure that cough, worth billions of dollars, aren't you stupid? Not even a president or a wealthy businessman in the world can afford that gemstone, yet you're giving it away for free to that damn man, Julia. You're so annoying."
At first, Julia thought her husband would be angry. Who would have thought he'd only complained like that and not done anything violent to her? She knew the weapon was a truly terrifying and incredibly rare gemstone. And of course, to obtain it, her husband must have gone to extraordinary lengths.
"Who knows? Didn't you say that before? Actually, last night you were invited to Mr. Adam's party. I felt this would be my chance to get proof of everything that happened. Of course, I tried to win his favor, and luckily, I remembered about the item. I packed it very carefully and immediately went there, pretending to be in your place because you were so busy, and do you know what I found? You're going to be delighted."
"Did you meet your ex?"
Julia immediately glared at her husband's incredibly annoying remark. Shouldn't he stop saying something annoying for a moment?
"The way you say things makes me upset, Kay!"
"So what do you know?"
Julia handed him her phone and played some of the videos. The man's eyes were immediately transfixed, seemingly completely affected by the sight. He couldn't believe that all the evidence and his incredible curiosity had been proven by his own wife. The woman's face looked incredibly satisfied as she watched her husband, who was currently looking at her with a very confused gaze. But she still tried to prove to him that this was just the beginning and that she was still capable of doing much more than this, of course.
"What do you think? Aren't I amazing? And that expensive gemstone is worth what I've earned, right?"
