Chapter 45 A man without a little finger
"So now you're turning to attack his son?" A question arose after the two decided to return home without even meeting Mr. Adam.
Kay glanced at his wife with a very strange look, but the man didn't respond at all. He only smiled wryly and remained silent, which made Julia feel incredibly uneasy with her husband's attitude.
"Can you explain something to me, Mr. Alexander? You've been silent, and that makes me even more suspicious of you."
"You're a special police officer, which is a sign that you have extraordinary thoughts. And I don't deny what you said. Wouldn't it be incredibly enjoyable if I could exact revenge exactly like what that man named Adam did to my family? I'd like to see him experience the pain of losing, or even witness his beloved child being murdered before his eyes, so perfectly."
Julia couldn't say anything. She finally learned that her husband's parents had been murdered in such a horrific manner. Finally, the woman turned around, feeling something odd about her husband's words.
"So, your parents were murdered by someone? Does that mean you're saying they were murdered right before your eyes and in your head? Does that mean you already know who killed your parents?"
Kay turned around for a moment at that question. The man seemed silent, gripping the scene before him tightly. There was so much trauma stored up, and this was one that no one could ever deny, and it certainly left a scar that was so incredibly difficult, even more so than anything else in this world. The trauma, the death, and all the tragic events unfolding before her eyes—even the blood and the pleading cries of her parents—felt so real. The man even stopped the car, almost causing Julia to fall over because the brakes were so sudden.
"What's wrong? Did something happen to you?"
"I can't remember their faces. That incident completely devastated me and left me mentally shattered. I was traumatized and depressed, and had to undergo treatment for all of my trauma for three years. I can't recall those horrific faces at all, but I still remember very clearly some of the marks on the man's body."
"What? Maybe I can help you. Or could it be that the reason you became part of the mafia was to find your parents' killer?"
Kay looked at his wife with a fierce gaze, but the man didn't answer, meaning he confirmed what she had said. Meanwhile, Julia, realizing her guess was correct, felt incredibly sad and emotional. How could she not? She never imagined that a child would lose their parents in such a horrific and tragic way. She knew that the police had immediately closed the case without investigating or finding out who was behind the brutal murders, simply because the parents died, leaving behind only a small child who seemed to have no right to hear the truth. Eventually, the child grew up with such incredible trauma that he decided to seek his own path to righteousness: by becoming the most evil villain and searching for the culprit behind his parents' deaths. Julia's hands clenched as if she were holding back all the pain her husband felt. She never imagined she would feel the same pain.
"This time, you're not alone. I'll help you. I'll make sure your parents' killers receive their just punishment. Now you don't have to hide anything from me anymore, and we must uncover the crime together. Kay, but there are some things you shouldn't do, right? Revenging murder with murder as cruelly as they did to your parents will certainly get you in big trouble. You could be imprisoned and even receive a very severe sentence. And even then, you'll never get the truth about your father's death. I'm just suggesting you carry out your revenge in a much better way, according to the law, and I'll help you as much as I can."
"I'm not a police officer who always obeys the law. I'm a criminal, and breaking the law is an obligation I must abide by. So how can you tell me to obey the law I've always broken? Don't tease me like that, because it's completely inappropriate for me to do so. And I hope you'll stop imagining things that aren't worth imagining."
Julia understood how the man felt. Disappointment with the police's treatment of his family was the most reasonable way to seek revenge. However, she didn't want her husband to continue committing crimes just because of one person. She had to make him realize that what he was doing was wrong. He shouldn't have committed such a horrific act, even endangering the entire world with his evil actions. Who didn't know him? The entire world was searching for him and even racing to kill him, and that was completely unfair to someone who was currently trying so hard to get justice for what happened to his family. Julia then gripped her husband's hands tightly, as if she wanted to offer him extraordinary support for everything that might have happened.
"Whatever your decision, I will always be by your side, and I will help you solve this case and prove that those who committed this crime deserve the punishment they deserve. Tell me what characteristics you still remember so I can at least know and be very kind and able to help you. Don't worry, for evidence and so on, I can search secretly in the police database, which will certainly be much more accurate and faster than what you can do. Didn't you also learn about the whereabouts of the man named Adam from me? Which means that indirectly, I have contributed greatly to helping you solve this case."
"The man who executed my parents was a left-handed man, and the other man who gave the order was a man with a facial deformity so deep that even if he underwent surgery many times, the scar would never heal completely. And I also injured and accidentally cut off his little finger, leaving him without one. And if Mr. Adam had those two marks, then it would be certain that he was the criminal who killed my parents."
