Chapter 41 Interseting

Chapter 41 Interseting
The place Julia and Kay were currently headed was incredibly far away, and it had taken them approximately eight hours to get there to find out if the man was there. Of course, Julia, who had initially been incredibly excited, was now drowsy and looked utterly exhausted.

"I had no idea if the bad guy was on the other side of town, the other side of the city, or even the border? This was absolutely insane, and we sat in the car for a while, almost making my head spin."

"You've never been on a long trip?"

Julia shook her head completely, then looked at her husband with a tired gaze.

"I always take priority transportation so I don't have to wait in traffic, and so on. I think my life is fun because I don't have to experience all that, and I have to do things that are so incredibly terrifying. Now, what should we do after we're done and we've arrived here? Which man are you looking for, and how are you going to act? I find it quite strange because I'm afraid you're just guessing where the man is, then you're looking for an address, and then a person. I never would have imagined that the mafia had such a pointless, time-consuming job. Maybe that's why they need so many extra members, right?"

Kay simply smiled at his wife's words. In the end, he didn't know anything at all, but he had already said so much. However, the man understood that women would talk a lot, and it seemed to be a characteristic that no one could ever break. The man seemed to be staring in one direction, a towering building that was currently in front of him. The black sedan was still parked across the road as if it was reluctant to go anywhere to observe the situation and conditions until finally a call came in on Kay's phone. And the man quickly picked up the phone to find out what to do next and where the man was from.

"I've located his location, sir. Furthermore, I've also investigated several things. I'll send you a photo of him and his current location. He's not at the company, but if you'd like to come by and say hello to some of the people there, that's fine."

"Is he on a business trip? It certainly seems like it, seeing as he suddenly disappeared so easily."

"He's currently on business, in a client meeting, and will be back at 3 p.m.."

Kay hung up his phone and glanced at his wife, as if wanting to say something, but she was already staring at him with a knowing gaze.

"I'm going out for a moment and going into the company. Do you want to come with me?"

"The criminal is inside?"

"He's in a meeting with some of his business associates, but I'm extremely curious about the company and I need to find out if my suspicions are correct."

Hearing this naturally made Julia feel excited. Without a second thought, she immediately went along with her husband's plan. Learning new things about the investigation, and even if it had something to do with her husband, was certainly a challenge in itself. Now, she was beginning to understand how the mafia solved problems, and it was quite practical. It turned out that the mafia weren't like typical criminals. Criminals would try to avoid vulnerable areas or simply disguise themselves, but the mafia were far more daring. They would come alone, even without any masks, which was quite extraordinary. She looked at her husband again; he was truly confident and thoughtless. After the car parked right in the company yard, her husband quickly got out with Julia, naturally, once again very curious.

"Good morning, sir. Is there anything we can help you with?"

"I'm the owner of Antara Corp. I'd like to meet with the owner of this company to discuss business. I've made an appointment, but it seems he's not in the company right now."

"Oh, Mr. Adam just went out, and the driver said he'd be back at 3 p.m. What time is your appointment with Mr. Adam, sir?"

Kay looked at his watch and then answered the question from the security guard in front of him.

"Around 1 p.m., but he probably forgot he had some work to do because he immediately agreed to a guest last night. But no problem at all, I can wait here, right?"

"Oh, please. We'll have the receptionist provide a comfortable place for you, along with some snacks and drinks. Sorry if there's a scheduling conflict. I'll inform the receptionist, and you can come inside with the secretary, okay?"

The security guard glanced at Julia, but Kay quickly gave a rather terse answer.

"She's my wife. She just happened to want to see some of my work, so she came with me."

"Excuse me, sir. Madam, please come in with us. We'll show you to a comfortable place so you can rest while you wait for Mr. Adam."

Julia even just found out that the man's name was Mr. Adam, it seemed familiar at all, right? The woman could only stay silent while following her husband's steps wherever he went, there was something that had to be investigated now because after all this was a criminal case that might have such a big potential. Even for Julia, she had to really find out in detail and this was not only because she wanted to help her husband if indeed this man named Mr. Adam was the perpetrator of the death of her husband's parents, but this could also reveal the case that had so far had no results at all in the police. There were several lists of names that they had been targeting because they suspected that these names were the masterminds of a very terrible criminal case and as far as Julia knew, Adam's name was included in one of the lists of names being sought by the police. And coincidentally, her husband was now here and of course this made Julia feel that her work was a little helped so that in the end the woman thought again that in the world of health they were like a food chain, interconnected and when one crime was revealed, it would reveal another crime like the perpetrators themselves.
