Chapter 34 Trying to Seduce Kay
Made her husband wonder if he was truly in love with her. Julia then sat down. She had to find a way to make this relationship normal again, without any awkwardness or emotional involvement. Julia was even willing to let this issue go, and even if her hopes of getting her husband were dashed, while she could enjoy life with him as a sweet couple, she had to try to savor the moments she might never have again, and she had to keep them to herself. Julia immediately rushed out of the room, seeing her husband hunched over, as if contemplating all the terrible things. She knew that her husband was thinking about the matter so deeply was something she could never deny, and Julia was certain that he felt the same way.
Julia removed her nightgown and walked in front of her husband, the dim light dimming.
"Why don't you come into the room? I want you."
"No, I don't want to make love to you."
"Then satisfy me with something else."
Kay continued to refuse, as if brushing aside everything his wife wanted to do. He then tried to stand up, annoyed, and Julia quickly sat on Kay's lap.
"What are you going to do?" Kay asked in a cold voice.
"To make you understand some things you've been trying to avoid."
Kay then pulled Julia up and stood her up. He closed his eyes completely.
"Get some rest. You have some very difficult work to handle tomorrow. Don't let it make you even more dizzy and sleepy. I think gathering more energy for tomorrow would be very enjoyable."
"Just because you have work tomorrow means you don't want to touch me?"
Julia said this with suppressed embarrassment. How could she not? She had even taken off her entire nightgown just to tease her husband, yet he would touch her and even tell her to go to bed. It wouldn't have mattered to her if her husband didn't want to, or perhaps because he was tired. But the problem was that she was absolutely certain that her husband was deliberately avoiding her in this way, either trying to protect her feelings or trying to play a trick on Julia.
"Our relationship is just a partnership."
"And I'm just giving you your wages."
Kay lowered her head and gripped both of her hands. This was truly not an easy thing for her. "What do you want now? Don't play with me, Julia. I'm a terrifying mafia leader, and one day we'll definitely have many conflicts and arguments. And I don't want this to happen. Killing each other is our destiny, and right now we're just waiting for a time bomb that could explode at any moment, right?"
Julia, who was initially furious and disapproving of what her husband had done, could only smile wryly. The woman's explosive anger overflowed. What her husband had said was right. She shouldn't have feelings for him, especially since it would be very difficult for them to be together. She was a member of a special police team tasked with eradicating crime and even eliminating all the criminals who were disturbing the city's residents, while her husband was the most feared and wanted criminal in the world. So how could Julia think that the two of them could be together until the end? It was all just Samata's wishful thinking and it seemed like whatever happened would be pointless and it would only make the woman even sadder as if the slap had truly become a part that could never be denied.
"But I'm willing to do that if it's all purely for mutual benefit, but I hope there will never be any heartbreak between us as long as we pursue this relationship."
Closed, all of Julia's hopes were completely shut, as if there was no reason to reopen them. The woman gathered her evening and put on a face filled with sadness and devastation. She walked into the room in utter frustration and even slammed the door shut as if to prevent her husband from entering again. Meanwhile, Kay immediately sat down limply, the man so frustrated that he immediately poured out the bottle he had been holding and ruffled his hair in frustration. It was truly a very complicated feeling that somehow everything could have turned out like this. To be honest, he also had very deep feelings for his wife because no matter what, he had just found a woman as special as his wife in his heart. However, what could he do? It seemed like they were not meant to be together, and there were still so many goals he had to achieve, and he would never be swayed by love until all of those goals were achieved. Moreover, he also didn't want to involve anyone in this problem because he knew very well that the problem was a truly complicated problem that even his life was at stake.
The next day, Julia was really cold towards her husband, the woman was even in the office with a very cheap expression. And of course, this succeeded in making Julia's friends feel very shocked, how could it not be? They had just had dinner together with Julia's husband, so how could Julia now come in such a gloomy state.
"Why are you so gloomy? Shouldn't you be happy this morning? Newlyweds shouldn't be gloomy and confess their faces, because that's certainly not a good thing. You should be happy with your husband no matter what, and wasn't that what you promised him last night?"
"It's nothing at all. I'm just a little upset with him."
"Why? Tell me."
Julia could only stare at her best friend without saying a word. How could she possibly tell her that she had fallen in love with her husband? More than that, how could she tell him who he really was? It was so impossible that even Julia was at a loss for words, as the pain was so profound that it overwhelmed her. She then laid her head on the table, seemingly utterly exhausted. Finally, she closed her eyes, trying to suppress the disappointment she was feeling. It was so painful that it felt like there was no reason for her to be okay.
"I just found a really great movie. Don't you want to see it with me? You could ask your husband if you could come home a little late, right? Two or three hours isn't long enough?"
Rebecca started chatting while turning on her computer screen. She glanced at her friend, who was still feeling lazy, or even experiencing something that confused her.
"What movie?"
"It's about a mobster who falls in love with a police officer. However, the story is a valuable lesson for us all, and it's a tragic tale. I was deeply touched by the story. Even though they ended up killing each other, and he, sorry, gave in for the woman he loved, I still felt sorry for him. It shouldn't have ended like that, and—"
