Chapter 30 Rebecca And Mr. Michelle
Tonight was truly a tense night for Julia, how could it not be? The woman was dressed so neatly and beautifully. She was wearing red with the same lipstick, but that wasn't what made Julia feel so stuck. It was that she had to bring her best friend together with her husband. A truly terrible possibility, and how could Julia possibly bring together a police officer and a criminal at the same time? It was impossible and not even in Julia's mind at all. Meanwhile, her husband looked so calm. He had just emerged from the bedroom, perfectly groomed.
After all, Kay was the ideal man no one could ever have imagined. He was so incredibly handsome with an incredibly proportioned body, coupled with his style that was never boring at all. His dark, cold, and intriguing aura emerged, making anyone feel like a man no one could ever reach. And it also made Julia wonder again: could she ever marry and have a husband like the man before her?
"If you're so fascinated by me, then stop. Let's continue your fascination later, because we're already very late." Kay quipped at his wife with an incredibly confident tone, and Julia was naturally taken aback by her husband's remark.
"Who's fascinated by you? Some confidence is a good thing, but being overconfident isn't a good thing for you at all, sir." Julia, annoyed by the flushed face, immediately hurried away, which succeeded in making her husband smile faintly. Who was fascinated? Julia was clearly smitten, and as a normal man, Kay knew that very well. However, it wouldn't be Julia if she admitted what she was feeling. She was quite stubborn and even secretive, often denying what she was experiencing.
"How many friends are coming?"
"We in the police force aren't that close, only when we're on duty. I tried contacting some of my friends there, but it seemed like they were on very important assignments, so in the end, only two showed up: Mr. Michelle and Rebeka. And do you know who Mr. Michelle is? He's the chief of police, highly respected by the entire elite police force. We're a top-secret team that relies on Mr. Michelle for everything. And by God, I can't believe this happened. Can we go home now? I can tell them your stomach hurts, or you're on a business trip abroad, or whatever. I'm sure they'll be okay, but if you keep avoiding me and I give them an excuse, they'll definitely be upset. Besides, those women and men are so busy with their work, I'm sure they won't have time to see you except today."
"Why are you so scared, honey? Aren't you confident enough to introduce your handsome husband to your friends? Come on, do I look so hideous that you feel so insecure? I'm quite good-looking, and I'd even be proud if you introduced me to his friends. And I can guarantee they'll be the best and most captivated by everything I have. Especially my face."
Julia's mouth immediately fell open. She hadn't expected her husband to possess such extraordinary self-confidence. This wasn't about his good looks, wealth, or even his career, but rather about his future. Her husband was the head of the mafia. How long would he still try to think that he was just a mere mortal who could mingle with just anyone, let alone the elite police force, which possessed god-level vigilance and suspicion? This was a completely different matter, and even Julia couldn't say anything at all, seeing how proud her husband looked.
"Oh my God, I've never seen a man as confident and shameless as you. How can you say something like this when I'm so dizzy and trying to save you? Are you that shameless? In fact, I get so annoyed every time I see you looking so proud of yourself? Isn't this one of the most annoying things? You have to know, the context here isn't because of your wealth, your job, or your face, but rather, you are—"
"I know, Julia. And you don't need to say anything or explain to me repeatedly why you're so upset or even scared. Trust me, I understand more than you can imagine. But then again, I'm also quite self-aware, and I'm not doing anything, and you don't need to be so scared. Do you think they know my boyfriend? Of course not? Even now, none of them know what my visions are like at all, which is why they haven't been able to catch me."
Kay actually has a personal mission, besides he wants to meet the two humans, he himself knows that the two humans are the two most dangerous humans in the elite police team who even become infiltrators in every thing that always tries to thwart his plans. However, he also feels that this is a golden opportunity, since long ago the man was quite curious about the name Mr. Michelle and this time I got the opportunity to meet directly and even face to face, an honor and also a challenge that is so extraordinary that can even make him spur adrenaline that is so extraordinary and he should thank his wife for giving him this extraordinary opportunity that this opportunity can never be replaced by any amount of money.
The journey had been incredibly long, and the two were now on their way to a restaurant Kay had booked. It was a seven-star restaurant renowned throughout the city and frequented by high-ranking officials and celebrities. Not just anyone could visit such a place. Kay was even a VVIP guest of the restaurant, a truly extraordinary feat that left Julia once again unable to revel in the privileges afforded her husband.
"I hope this membership card of yours here is in the name of a wealthy businessman like you, and not one of those highly respected criminals or someone who has committed a horrific crime or some shady dealings with the owner of this restaurant, right?"
"Are you always watching pointless movies? Why are your words so annoying, and there's not even a single one I can relate to so well? Come on, stop imagining things that aren't important, because they're certainly pointless. Let's just focus and don't ever discuss this matter if you don't want your two friends to find out and even expose my true identity."
"Sorry, I'm just panicking."
Julia had never felt this way before. In her entire life, she would have preferred to be asked to catch or spy on even a major criminal rather than have to pretend and discover two things that were so completely opposite, which made her incredibly scared. Eventually, the restaurant manager led them into a room, and Kay ordered the restaurant's best dishes, as he and his wife were certainly unfamiliar with the various dishes Julia's two friends might like and dislike.
"I hope your two friends like the food I ordered, because I don't really understand other people's food. I'm usually the one who gets food ordered, and I'm not used to ordering for others."
