Chapter 21 Kay?
"Can I ask you a few questions? This is incredibly strange, and I need to confirm everything with you."
Kay, who had been sitting so quietly, immediately turned to his wife, who had entered the apartment and sat down next to him. The man knew and could already guess why his wife had suddenly arrived, filled with intense emotions and even intense curiosity. He even tried to remain calm about everything she might say.
"I know what you want to ask, so sit down first. Have you brought what I want?"
Julia showed him a flash drive containing what her husband wanted. The woman immediately glared at him with a much more serious look than usual. This had to be straightened out today to avoid any prejudice that could have negative consequences for anyone and even cause quite complicated problems later. "I'll give you anything you want as long as you tell me the truth. I'm also very curious about what happened. I suddenly came to the office, and Rebeka and Mr. Michelle were so proud and enthusiastic about me. They said they received a message from me, and it contained some evidence of your whereabouts. Now tell me, what happened? Because I don't feel like I sent them anything about you at all. Or did you secretly know that I was assigned to investigate you?"
Kay poured rosemary tea in the classroom and offered it to his wife.
“I accidentally saw the file in the cupboard, because I was quite curious I thought it was my hacker who might have slipped I opened the file. However, who would have thought that in the file I found a letter of assignment that was quite shocking to me. At first I thought maybe you had secretly done something behind my back, trying to lurk to get something that could make you feel not disadvantaged at all. However, of course there was a part of the thing that made me feel quite shocked, where I saw that until now you didn't even make any movements which is a sign that you are definitely confused between wanting to carry out the task as desired by your valley or doing something as you please, isn't it like that? Now I am also quite self-aware, by giving you some hints and sending them to them so that they feel happy and so that you don't worry anymore. Have you never thought about how ugly your face is when you always frown all the time? In fact I think you are going through very difficult times that will never be broken by anyone. However, who would have thought that the problem is as trivial as that. So just think of it as if I was just "He helped you without any warning at all. The problem of everything that might happen certainly has nothing to do with you, and I thought everything would be fine, right?"
Julia couldn't even say anything at all when she heard her husband's words. Was this a kindness? Or was this one of the man's ways of trying to ensnare her as a wife even deeper so that she couldn't do anything anymore? Julia immediately looked away, completely confused, because of course, this was something she never could have imagined. “By God, I don’t know what to do with you. Should I thank you or should I be annoyed because you always do things that I can certainly say are very inappropriate. How can you help me by risking yourself like that? Aren’t you afraid that all the police forces in the world will come and search for everything you have sent? In fact, all the evidence you have sent has been distributed to all the governments in the world and even now they are competing to get you by any means. And by God, I don’t want you and all your members to be caught just because of me. I don’t want that, because I think this relationship will be enough from a mutually beneficial relationship, not a mutually detrimental relationship like what you want.”
Kay couldn't even say anything at his wife's words. Why did he feel like the woman in front of him had such a different mindset than any woman he'd ever met? Even sending some evidence, and he didn't think it was something his group would be vulnerable to being discovered, and even all of its members were such terrifying criminals that it was highly likely the woman in front of him had a grudge and a secret mission to capture him. But how could this woman, the woman he'd just called his wife, be angry and even worried about him? Kay felt something strange inside, so he chose to look away and try to ignore it all, then talk about something that hadn't gotten too deep.
"I don't want to discuss this anymore. Besides, we have to go to dinner now. Get ready and let's go, lest I have to postpone this event for the umpteenth time just because of our argument. As for all the data I requested, just put it on my desk. I'll look at it all tonight after we get home."
"Then, can I ask you something?"
"As long as you don't bring up the previous issue, perhaps I can answer your question."
Julia paused for a moment, then clenched her fists tightly, a feeling of dilemma.
"What's the reason you're requesting data on all the criminals our members have handled? Are you planning something? Or are you even looking for someone who might be an important figure in your life?"
Kay Yang was about to walk into the room when she glanced at his wife with a dark, cold gaze that was deeply hurt. He looked serious and irritated by her wife's question.
"I just want to find out who killed my parents."
As if struck by lightning in broad daylight, Julia could only freeze at her husband's answer. And after that Julia didn't dare to ask anymore.
