Chapter 181
Mia blinked her eyes, a bit confused about what was real.
Hadn't Luna always been at odds with Amelia? Why was she suddenly helping Amelia?
"Luna, you..." Mia was a bit flustered for a moment.
Luna held Elise's hand and announced seriously, "Amelia is my sister-in-law. Bullying her means bullying me!"
Mia was furious enough to faint.
"Luna, this isn't Amelia! Her name is Elise. She's a different person who just looks like her!"
Mia glared at Elise.
"Tell her yourself, isn't your name Elise?"
Elise had originally planned to admit it, but seeing Mia's shameless attitude, she smiled slightly.
"If I'm not Amelia, would Matthew bring me home to see Grandpa?"
"Don't think I can see what you're thinking. You're worried that now I'm back, Matthew won't want you anymore, so you're denying I'm Amelia!"
That was indeed Mia's plan. Being exposed by Elise, a flash of embarrassment crossed her face.
Luna snorted coldly.
"I've seen shameless people, but I've never seen anyone as shameless as you! I'm warning you, move out of Matthew's villa right now, or don't blame me for being rude! When the time comes, I'll bring people to the villa to kick you out, and it won't be me who looks bad!"
Mia looked at Elise and Luna.
"Luna, I kindly told you the truth about this Elise, and you don't appreciate it! You deserve to be fooled by this, Elise!"
Luna gripped Elise's hand tightly and shot back, "We're united. Don't even think about driving a wedge between us or ruining Matthew and Amelia's relationship!"
Unable to argue with Elise and Luna, Mia could only turn and leave angrily.
"What's wrong with that woman!" Luna mocked, sticking her tongue out at Mia's retreating figure.
She comforted Elise again, "Amelia, don't worry. If Mia comes to trouble you again, tell me, and I'll definitely teach her a good lesson!"
Elise's lips twitched slightly, feeling quite embarrassed inside.
She had just admitted to being Amelia to annoy Mia. What if one day Luna found out her name was Elise, not Amelia? What would she do?
Elise couldn't help but ask curiously, "Over these three years, what was Matthew and Mia's relationship like..."
Luna, worried she might overthink, quickly said, "Amelia, don't misunderstand Matthew! During the three years you were gone, it was Mia who shamelessly stayed at the villa. Matthew had no choice but to let her stay, but Matthew never had feelings for her. He only has you in his heart! You don't know how much effort Matthew put into finding you!"
Elise really wanted to know what had happened between Matthew and Amelia, but didn't know how to ask.
After shopping, Elise returned to her company, and Luna went back to the Moore Manor.
Matthew was working in his study when Luna walked straight in.
"Matthew, do you know who Amelia and I ran into while shopping?" Luna fired away as soon as she entered.
Seeing her contemptuous and angry expression, Matthew couldn't help but be curious.
"Who did you run into?"
Luna came to his side, raising her voice, "Mia! She's so shameless, she's gone crazy wanting to be your wife!"
Matthew frowned, "What happened?"
Luna said, "Mia actually said Amelia is fake, that she's someone called Elise! What complete nonsense! I think there's something wrong with her brain! Matthew, you can't let Mia keep staying there, right? Amelia's back now!"
Matthew signaled Luna to lower her voice.
"Don't let Grandpa hear Mia's name!"
"I'll handle the Mia situation myself!"
Luna muttered unhappily, "If you were going to handle it, why has it dragged on until now!"
Matthew stood up.
"I'm going back to the villa. Keep a close eye on Grandpa's condition, and call me immediately if anything happens!"
Matthew left the Moore Manor and returned to the villa, entering the living room with a dark expression.
Mia wasn't in the living room. He went straight upstairs but couldn't find her anywhere!
Suddenly, he saw something through a door crack and was shocked. He quickly pushed open the door to find the floor covered with shredded clothing!
"Amelia! Amelia!" Matthew called out frantically, picking up the pieces from the floor and clutching them in his hands, as if they weren't clothing scraps but Amelia's soul itself.
"Someone, come here!" Matthew roared.
The servants immediately ran in.
"Mr. Moore!"
Matthew pointed at the pieces on the floor and demanded sternly, "Who did this?"
None of the servants dared to speak.
Matthew understood, "Was it Mia?"
The servants didn't speak either. If they admitted it, Mia would kill them!
"Where's Mia?" Matthew trembled with anger.
Kaia said, "She went out during the day and hasn't come back yet!"
Matthew shouted, "Call her immediately and tell her to come back!"
Just then, Mia's car pulled into the garage.
Matthew slowly walked downstairs and stood by the wine cabinet, waiting for Mia to come in.
Seeing Matthew, Mia struck first, rushing over in tears.
"Matthew, Luna was so cruel today!"
Matthew swung his arm and slapped Mia hard across the face. Mia looked stunned, staring at Matthew in disbelief.
"What are you doing? Luna bullied me, and you're bullying me too?"
Matthew shouted, "Who told you to go see Elise? Who told you to tell Luna she's Elise? Do you know what will happen if Luna tells Grandpa and Grandpa doubts Elise?"
Mia said aggrieved, "I didn't think that much! I was worried Elise would use Amelia's identity to deceive you and Luna."
"You're not worried about us being deceived!" Matthew said. "You're worried that Amelia has come back! I've told you more than once that I love Amelia, and things between you and me are over! Why do you still do this!"
After a pause, Matthew opened his palm, showing Mia the clothing scraps in his hand.
"Did you cut these?"
Mia's lips trembled. After a moment of silence, "Yes, I cut them! I don't want you to keep longing for Amelia, unable to free yourself! Matthew, you need to come out of this shadow."
Matthew shook his head in disbelief, looking at the Mia before him incredulously.
"How can you be so cruel? Is this the Mia I've always known? Where did that gentle and lovely Mia go?"
Mia said righteously, "You forced me to be like this! What woman likes the feeling of being abandoned? Do you know how much pain I'm in? Do you know how desperate I am? Right now, you're my only reason to live. Without you, what's the point of my living!"
Matthew said firmly, "Stop threatening me with death. The more you do this, the more I find you annoying!"
Mia froze, a barely noticeable panic showing in her eyes.
"You think I'm threatening you? You think I'm just saying this?"
"Matthew, don't regret this!"
Before she finished speaking, Mia rushed toward the wall.
A loud crash, and Mia's head started bleeding as she fell to the ground.
Matthew only reacted a second later.
"Mia? Mia?"
"Someone, come quick, take her to the hospital!"
Besides this method of self-harm, Mia really couldn't think of any other way to stay by Matthew's side.
If she didn't control the force well, she might just die.
