Chapter 206 - Repulsive

Chapter 206 - Repulsive
Camila's P.O.V.
I tried not to gasp as Raphael drove through the pack village. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this. While our pack had more large and well-kept houses, which couldn't testify to the strength and size of it, the houses here were less updated and modern. They were clearly built to serve a rudimentary purpose and not for decorations. However, there were still large and well-kept houses, but they were situated amidst scraggly trees and small rolling hills.
The ride to the pack house didn't take long, as the three-story house that somehow looked more elegant than the others stood not too far from us. It was the largest house I could see. I could also see two figures standing in front of the pack house, and I assumed they were the Alpha and Gamma already waiting to receive us. Thankfully, the pack land isn't as large as ours, and that could make our search here less difficult compared to ours, which needed lots of time for anyone to be found in the pack.
"Come on." Raphael said as he stopped the car in front of the house. He turns to me and gives me a small smile. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." I nodded, returning his smile before stepping down from the car along with the others.
“Welcome! It's short notice to meet you again, Alpha Raphael." "The bulkier one among the two men who I knew as the pack's Alpha, Kelvin," he said as he began to walk towards us. We've met once during one of the community meetings I've been to. He was several inches over six feet tall with his head shaved. The gamma behind him was as big as him, but the gamma paled in comparison to him. The gamma was a dark-brown-skinned man, while he was light-skinned.
“Yes. Our source gave us the information relating to this place just a while ago." Raphael responded as we got to Alpha. "You will have to forgive us for not informing you beforehand.“
Alpha Kelvin shook his head, dismissing Raphael's statement with a fling of his hand. “That's not necessarily. You are always welcome here, any day and any time.” He turned to face me. He narrowed his eyes at me before scanning my body.
My stomach curled with uneasiness, and I furrowed my brows in confusion, shifting on my foot at his disturbing gaze on me.
Why the hell is he looking at me like that? Of course, I was aware of the look on the Alpha's face. I've seen it several times when a man lusts after a woman, and this man's gaze was giving me the chills.
It was said that as soon as a female wolf is mated to a male wolf and vice versa, they are no longer attractive for an unmated wolf to find interest in. The female or male would bear the markbite symbol to indicate that they are already mated to a wolf. Then the other unmarked and unmated wolves would find them repulsive. That is the phenomenon of wolves. Unlike humans, whether you are married or not to a person, you can still be prone to being considered attractive and suitable to other people. That seemed to be a similar case for me at the moment.
As a wolf, I was mated already for goodness's sake, and the fact that he was looking at me that way in front of my mate, Raphael, was insane. It is even more audacious and unbelievable to stare at a wolf's mate lustfully, especially in the presence of the wolf. This werewolf in particular was looking at me like he could eat me up and not feel a bit repulsive about doing it. Which is strange.
Oh. I'm starting to think it was actually a terrible idea to come to this place to search for Sasha.
I glanced at Raphael and saw him already shooting glare daggers at the man whose eyes were already on my body. Just as Raphael was about to open his mouth to say something, the Alpha chuckled, bringing his eyes back to my face.
“Luna Camila. It's a pleasure to see you again.“
