Chapter 140: Selene, why did you try to trick me?

Lyall opens his eyes slowly, whispering the name of his beloved:

"Selene!"

She, for her part, can't contain her joy, throwing herself on top of Lyall:

"You're awake!"

"At last, Brother. I thought I'd spend eternity asleep." Ethan also approaches

"I heard everything you were saying, I just couldn't wake up. I think something inside me kept me from waking up, but Selene's arrival changed everything." Lyall pulls his Luna close to him and gives her a long hug and an intense, loving kiss,

"I'm glad you're alive and well. Now we can take back Sirion and its rightful place, Lyall."

"It's not like that. Jamal won in a duel and within the rules of Lycan law, on a day when I was completely distracted, the day of our wedding."

"He really did plan this situation well. He made Nix seal my powers and Sophia steal the Spellbook, took our children away from me and threatened me that if I didn't marry him, I'd hurt Wahid and Uriah, I had no choice but to accept." Selene looks away and takes a step back.

"How long did I sleep?" Lyall gets out of bed

"Eight days"

"And all this happened in such a short time? Selene, have you married that bastard yet?"

"Not yet, but the wedding is scheduled for next Saturday," Selene says in a muffled voice

"Are the children all right?"

"Yes. They're in Nifhil with Leila and the other wizards from my clan and that's why I'm calm and since you've woken up I won't have to marry that bastard Jamal anymore."

"On the contrary"

"You will go back to the castle and follow everything he says and in the meantime, Ethan and I will meet with the allied packs and plan how to destroy Jamal and take back Sirion's power and the leadership of the Lycans."

"What? You want me to come back? What if he wants to possess me in the meantime? Jamal is stronger than me, you know." Selene gets angry and crosses her arms, turning away from Lyall.

"It's necessary, love. Or do you want him to find out I'm alive?" Lyall hugs Selene from behind and kisses her neck

"It doesn't matter. You have to go back anyway, or you've forgotten that Dashell is risking his life for you to be here with your handsome Alpha." Maeve intrudes on the conversation

"It's true. I need to go back and get Dashell out of this mess before it's too late." Selene thinks

"It will be hard for me to stay away from you, Selene, my beautiful Luna. But it will be for the greater good." Lyall embraces Selene and kisses her goodbye, watching her leave the room with Maeve.

"Now, my dear Ethan, I need to be discharged and I need you to arrange a meeting with all the Alphas from the packs allied to me. But before you invite them and tell Angellus I'm alive, make sure he's on your side. We can't be fingered at a time like this." Lyall walks imposingly to the window of the hospital room.

"Yes, my King."

On the way back to Sirion, Selene and Maeve talk about how they're going to make the switch between the werewolf and the white-haired wizard with the piercing green eyes:

"I'm going to turn you into a maid again and inside you'll have to find a way into your room so that Dashell can turn into a moth and fly away. I'll speed things up a bit, the sun will be setting soon." Maeve Placed her right foot down on the accelerator.

"That's fine with me. But you know what I was thinking, Maeve?"

"Of course no"

"I have to find a way to separate Jamal and Nix, to end their alliance. But how?" Selene placed her hand to her chin thoughtfully and Maeve remembered something important she realized while she was still Nix's slave:

"I think I know how" Maeve looks at Selene who stares into her big amber eyes expectantly.

"Nix is completely in love with Jamal."

"What?" Selene is stunned

"Yes, she is!"

"I can use that to my advantage." The beautiful werewolf smiles as she feels the car stop and Maeve cast the identity switch spell on Selene, who discreetly gets out of the car and heads towards the castle, entering without any problems. However, just as she was at the door to her room, she heard a voice behind her call out:

"Hey, maid! What are you doing?" It was Nix's voice

"I was just going to get the laundry," Selene says in a distorted voice with her head down

"Wait! Don't I know you from somewhere? Your smell is not strange to me." Nix moves even closer to the fake maid.

"You must be from right here in the castle, I've been a maid for a while" Selene tries to keep calm

"No! There's something strange. Look at me, let me look at your face." As Nix lifted the supposed maid's chin:

"Leave the maid alone, Nix. Come with me, we need to talk."Jamal arrived, pulling the witch into his room, making Selene breathe a sigh of relief and finally, with the key Dashell had given him, he opened the door to find him sitting in front of the desk."

"Selene, you really are back." he smiles

"We agreed, didn't we? And I'm a woman of my word."

"So, did it work out?"

"Yes. Mission accomplished."

"Excellent! I'll have to go now, Nix could come in any minute. Take care, Selene." Before the wizard turns into a moth and flies out of the window, Selene throws herself into his arms and hugs him tightly:

"Thank you Dashell!"

The smitten wizard accepts Selene's embrace with affection, forgetting for a minute that he is in danger if he continues to stand there.

"Now yes. Go yours! And get ready for Saturday. Maeve is waiting near the forest."

Dashell turns on his heel and goes out of the window. Selene watches him and just as the door is unlocked, Jamal and Nix appear:

"That smells like magic. Have you had a visitor, Selene?" Nix asks around the werewolf

"I don't owe you any satisfaction, you bastard."

"Why, you..." Nix lunges at Selene, who rushes to Jamal's side, who takes her in.

"Stop it, Nix. Do what you came to do and leave."

"But Jamal, can't you see that this woman is deceiving you?" Nix tries to approach Jamal

"I am? What do you mean? Because of the smell of magic? Maeve opened the window and guess what... she used magic to do it." Selene says sarcastically.

"That's not Maeve's smell and you know it."

"Enough! Nix, I've told you to stop. Do what you came to do and leave, I won't say it again." Jamal pulls Selene behind him and, to provoke the witch, she grabs the end of Jamal's shirt and her face against his back while looking at Nix, who can't hold back her anger.

"All right, Jamal. I'll seal the window as you asked." Nix, annoyed by the situation, uses a spell to seal the window.

"That's it! It's done."

"Good! You can go now. I need to talk to my fiancee."

Nix leaves in silence, staring at Selene who does the same until the evil witch leaves the room.

"Now that we're alone, answer me... Why did you try to trick me?"
