Chapter 130: Truth of Time!

The judge was about to end the ceremony when he asked a question that would change the whole context of the story:

"If anyone here has anything against this union, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Suddenly the clouds in the sky darkened, a strong wind began to blow, and the guests looked at each other without understanding what was happening, until they heard a voice echoing in their ears:

"I have"

"Jamal, what are you doing?" Selene turned to him indignantly

"Stop right there. If you take another step, I'll have to finish what I started that day on the bridge."

"Shut up, Lyall. I'm not in the patient and I want to get this over with, so... Nix, please!"

Jamal calls for the witch who was actually responsible for the total change in the weather, she quickly launches a mantra that makes everyone stand still, approaching Selene and sucking the witch's powers with an Occult spell she recently learned, Selene while feeling her strength going away says:

"Are you that angry with my mother to take it out on me and my family?" she asks almost voicelessly.

"Ah Selene, you tire my beauty. Let me tell you once and for all, because I don't think you understand yet... It was your mother who taught me occult magic, in parallel to the magic called good, I never had any other tutor or master but Freah. She had these two personalities inside her, but when she married your father, that filthy werewolf limited herself to the simple task of maintaining harmony between the clans, and for what? For love. She practically gave up her powers for love, for Zayn and for you, she abandoned not just me, but the entire Sons of Gaia clan and she was our sovereign." Nix expresses all his anger and resentment.

"I think you should forgive and move on, let this revenge aside. We can make our clan strong again."

"You're so naive as to be stupid. I'm not here for revenge, otherwise, you and those you love would be dead, I'm here to fulfill my part of the Pact I made with Jamal. And without your witch powers you can't stop what's going to happen from now on. Just sit back and accept it." Nix smiles mockingly

"You're a demon!" Selene snaps, hearing a sinister laugh from Nix.

Thanks to Nix's powers, what finally shows the extent of his strength, with some allies who were renegades from the Children of Gaia clan scattered around the guests who try to impose themselves, especially the alphas of each Pack, but they are already under the effect of Nix's spell, so they are forced to just listen and watch what is going to happen. Unlike Lyall, who struggled against his momentary helplessness:

"Let me out of here, you damned witch. I'm going to kill Jamal and then it'll be your turn."

"Let's see how long your courage lasts when the truth is revealed" Nix faces the Lycan king

"What truth?"

"The truth is that we're blood brothers on our father's side, Lyall."

"What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Are you drunk? It's a crime to besmirch the image of the sovereign king of the Lycans." Lyall retorts

"I'm telling the truth. I have witnesses, and I have proof, that my mother Anne had a one-year relationship with King Wyatt and the result of that relationship is me. In this little chest are the cataloged and notarized love letters between my father King Wyatt and my mother, a young woman at the time who ended up falling in love with a gallant man who seduced her."

" Bullshit! You're only doing this out of jealousy because you like Selene. Slander, bearing false witness, everything you're saying leads to imprisonment. So take it back."

"Jamal won't do that, because what he's saying is the truth. I know it must be shocking for you to hear this, Lyall. But it's the truth, your father fell in love with my Ana when she was 16 years old, he was charming, engaging, affectionate, and attentive and she ended up getting involved. A year later you were born, but Queen Tanith found out and chased after my Ana. That's when she discovered that Wyatt was the Lycan King and at the same time found out that she was expecting his child, she wrote a letter and gave it to her faithful squire at the time to deliver to him telling him the news. Wyatt asked for forgiveness and said that he had many responsibilities to fulfill and that he couldn't take on Ana's child even though he knew it was also his. In the same letter, he told her that his wife Tanith was also pregnant and asked Anne never to tell anyone this secret, including their bastard son. As for Lyall, he was raised in a golden cradle, treated as the sole heir to the Lycan throne, Jamal had to isolate himself and live off scraps."

"What a beautiful invention. you combined this story well with your grandson, you old liar."

"Lyall, don't talk to Grandma Rose like that. What's gotten into you?

"Selene, are you scolding me because of these two's crazy story? Nix is right, you're too innocent.

"You don't know anything. Rose told me a while ago that Jamal wasn't the son of Mrs. Ana's husband but of a powerful Alpha."

"And you didn't even tell me?"

"If I told you, you'd say I was a gossip and I wouldn't care."

"If you're doubting me, I have here in this envelope a test I did compare my DNA with Lyall's and guess what? 99.5% compatibility, which means we're brothers. And before you ask me how I followed the sample, I had Elena's help, I got a lot out of you two." Jamal smiles mischievously.

"So, you planned for Elena to do that with Lyall? You have no limits, Jamal."

"Sorry Selene, I had to claim what's rightfully mine."

"And what do you think is rightfully yours?"

"To claim the throne and Selene."

"You're joking, right?" Lyall mocks as Ângellus draws everyone's attention.

"He's right, it's his right, and in such cases, a duel to see who gets the throne is the rule described in one of the Lycan laws. In the absence of the king, if there is more than one heir, a duel can be held between the two to see who will succeed to the throne."

" ngellus, why are you doing this?" Lyall, frowning, looks at the Sheriff, his faithful ally until then.

"Because I'm the king's faithful advisor who took his letters to Miss Anne, and her letters to him. When I learned of Miss Anne's pregnancy, I was devastated because I knew that King Wyatt, as much as he loved her, couldn't take her on, he had too many responsibilities and commitments. Just as Mrs. Rose consoled her daughter's cries, it was I who consoled King Wyatt's cries." ngellus makes a shocking revelation, so much so that Lyall cries and roars with rage.

"If it's a duel you want, Jamal. Fine with me, but without the help of your pet witch."

"Fine with me. Whoever wins gets everything, including Selene."

All set for the duel, no one could interfere about the death penalty, the two brothers were face to face, their red eyes fixed on each other showing the anger they were feeling, as did the gnashing of teeth. And finally, they attack each other in an intense and cruel fight, in which only one will survive and take the throne. Who will emerge victorious from this battle?
