Chapter 129: The big day!

March 19th

Wedding day

The big day arrived for Selene and Lyall, although they had been together and in a stable relationship for just over a year, getting pregnant and giving birth to Uriah and Wahid", conceived on a night of escape from her former miserable life, a flash of her life flashed before her eyes, she couldn't help comparing her past with her present, imagining what her future would be like, a mixture of emotions took over her mind. Selene was overjoyed to have finally found the love of her life in such an unexpected way and believed that nothing could get in the way of her happiness, she thought as she let a professional fix her hair, leaving Selene's reddish strands in waves and half up, with a tiara of small, varied white flowers meticulously placed on the bride's head that almost smudged her make-up - luckily it was waterproof. In the meantime, Irene, Leila and Ava arrived in the room, Selene was already making the final adjustments to her dress and, when she was ready, the two girls helping her stepped aside and the three friends could see her:

"You look beautiful!"

"Radiant!"

"Wonderful!"

"Finally, you'll stop winding up the young master"

"Irene, I wasn't winding Lyall up, I just wasn't ready to marry him yet, I had some things to sort out and I didn't feel ready for it. It's a lot of responsibility, you know? I'm going to become a queen.

"You'll be an extraordinary queen, I'm sure."

"Thank you, Ava!"

"Irene and the children?"

"Mrs. Rose and Sophia, who are just finishing tidying up." It was only when Irene fell silent that the bedroom door opened, revealing Wahid and Uriah in the presence of their grandmother and granddaughter, who also marveled at Selene's beauty.

"I was wondering how Lyall was doing." Selene sighs

"Very nervous, I'm sure. I passed his room before I came here, he was happy and very nervous at the same time."

"Poor my fiancé," sighs Irene aloud

"And Ethan," Leila adds

And speaking of Lyall, who looked dapper in his pants, tie and gray vest, whose white shirt gave off the charm of the handsome alpha and king of the werewolves, Pavlos was sacrificing the finishing touches to Lyall's vest, who complained:

"I can do this myself, why are you treating me like a child?"

"Sorry, young master, I think it's because you're finally getting married and this is my way of expressing that I'm happy." Pavlos takes two steps back, leaving Lyall to straighten his own tie.

"Who would have thought that that womanizer, that Don Juan, would be swept off his feet like that, you remember, Pavlos, it was a different woman every day, my sister would go mad with rage. "With all of them, really with me, Lyall? That's what she used to shout." Ethan grimaces at Lyall, who approaches his friend and says in a threatening tone:

"If you tell Selene that, I'll rip your heart out and make it my meal. Do you understand, Ethan? Lyall asks with a distorted voice and red eyes, Ethan, in turn, swallows dryly, trying to stay calm:

"Yes, perfectly!"

"Pavlos, can you tell me if Selene is ready and if the guests have arrived at the wedding venue and the party?"

"I've just spoken to Irene, who's with the bride, and she says that Miss Kouris is beautiful and ready, and as for the guests, almost all of them have arrived, with only the rest of us from the castle to go.

"Excellent!"

"Pavlos, you take Selene and my children, Ethan and the driver take the rest of the guests." They all agreed and prepared to head for the fairy garden, a beautiful place, well wooded, full of flowers of various species and scents, a waterfall also added to the beauty of the place.

However, Jamal was at Nix's house, he was planning his plan carefully and nothing could go wrong:

"What about Freah's diary, did you get it?" Nix asked Jamal.

"Of course! I had a little but important help."

"Very good work. Now give me the book"

"No! Do you think I'm stupid? The book is very well kept for later use in case you turn against me and Selene."

"And why would I do that?"

"I ask you, why would I trust you? Isn't your goal to kill Selene?"

"However, I have an obstacle."

"Obstacle?"

"Yes, you"

Jamal looks strangely at Nix and Maeve reveals:

"It's because she loves you."

"No, it's because of that and the pact. Now, enough talk, everyone here knows what to do, let's get going, it's almost 4 pm."

Back at the wedding, Lyall was waiting for his bride next to the flower arch with the wooden altar where the judge was waiting for them, the guests were all settled in their comfortable chairs, all the couple's allies and friends except Dashell who was late and therefore saw Nix arriving in the company of Jamal and Maeve, he stood in front of them trying to stop them:

"Whatever you want, stop now." Dashell concentrated his powers and just as he was about to attack them, Nix was quicker and hit his older brother, who was thrown away."

"You didn't have to do that."

"Are you scolding me, Maeve?

"No, ma'am" Maeve lowers her head

"If you don't want to take part in what's going to happen, feel free. But don't forget that every act has its consequences." Nix looks sideways at Maeve who, despite feeling a shiver run down her spine, rushes to save Dashell even though she doesn't know where he fell.

Back at the wedding, Selene was announced and everyone looked in her direction, the sun shining down on her, radiating her beauty even more. And with every step she took, her heart pounded, especially when she saw Lyall's broad smile waiting for her in front of the altar; the birds and the sound of the waterfall also seemed to be celebrating the union.

Selene finally reaches Lyall, who kisses her on the forehead, and the judge begins the ceremony with all the procedures, everything is going very well until the judge asks the usual question:

"If there is anyone here who is against this marriage, let them speak now or forever hold their peace."

Suddenly the weather began to darken, a strong wind began to blow, the guests looked at each other without understanding anything and finally, a male voice echoed in everyone's ear:

"I have!"
