Sliver bullet

REECE'S POV.

Staring at the ugly rogues made me even madder. They were the reason I had been in the hospital for so long. They didn't even care about me being an Alpha, and took advantage of me being alone, and they being plenty in numbers. Well, they were going to regret it.

I was going to make sure of it.

For days, I had been forced to act as an exemplary Alpha, and had craved for the old times when having trouble with Kaden was my only job.

Well, I didn't need to act as an exemplary Alpha at the moment.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the infamous rogues, who have been wrecking havoc in our pack." Kaden began, as he walked towards them slowly. I could tell he was also delighted to have caught them.

"Who sent you?" Ethan asked.

"Why do you assume someone sent us?" One of the men, who looked like the leader of the rogues shot back.

The audacity.

"Because you're too confident to be alone." I replied, icily.

How dare they run their mouths carelessly in front of us?

"Let's say this was some months ago, then definitely someone had to be backing us." The man replied, hitting a club on his palm gently.

"What do you mean?" Ethan asked.

"It means the Alpha's dead, and while we don't dare mess with him, we don't care as much for you three. We're not scared of you." The leader spat, and I lost my temper immediately.

In a blur, I was in front of him with my hand on his neck, choking him, and lifting him off the floor. His men attacked, but so did my brothers, and my men.

"You. You're the one who stuck your claws into my tummy, right?" I asked, menacingly, recognizing a scar on his cheek, and he tried throwing my hand off his, but I threw him to the ground instead.

He fell on a chair, pushing it backwards, and they both crashed to the ground.

"Damn you." I spat, striding over to him once more, and picking him up by the collar. He managed to slash my arm, and as my blood drizzled out, I felt even more angry.

I raised him, and plunged him into the breakfast table with so much force that the weak, wooden table gave way, and split down the middle.

I proceeded to hit him till he was unconscious, but another rogue slashed my back, causing me to turn, and give him a kick that sent him crashing into the wall carelessly.

He didn't move again, as thick dark blood poured down his head. I didn't mind. After all, it was what they had intended for me.

Before I could turn back to the man I had been dealing with, a spatula was suddenly placed in front of my neck, and was pushed backwards, tightening my neck, and choking me.

It only made me madder. Did he think such a thing would make me lose my breath? Not engaging in fights like a tyrant didn't mean I was bad at fighting.

I placed my fingers in the space left by the spatula, and pushed. He lost his grip on it, and I caught the spatula, and turned around, hitting him with it.

"This is for all the people you hospitalized, and killed." I shot at him and hit him continuously with it, ignoring his shouts.

The fight lasted almost two hours. Ethan didn't want us to kill them, and we were only to knock them out. but Kaden, and I didn't want that. So, we beat them to a pulp, until they couldn't move anymore.

Thay was satisfactory. The best moment of the fight was when the rest, after realizing they were outnumbered, and weaker than us, went down on their knees and begged.

Well, I didn't fail to take a picture. I wanted our people to be at rest, knowing that their Alphas could deal with something as little as rogues.

Their pleas, and surrenders didn't stop us from dealing with them. It made it even more fun to beat them hard.

It was revenge for the people. For Yrene, and for me.

After the long fight, we apologized to the kids for all the violence, and promised to replace the broken things in the breakfast hall.

But they were smart, and thanked us, calling us superheroes, which was cringing, but we accepted it.

Kaden left to get us all chilled drinks, and after that, the battered men were loaded into one car, piled atop each other like waste.

After draining half my bottle, I convinced Ethan, and Kaden to do whatever talking they wanted to do in the car. They smiled, and we all got into the car.

"Finally, those idiots are gone." I said, picking up my phone.

"It was nice beating them up. Frustrations, and anger bottled inside of me was unleashed on them." Kaden added and laughed.

"Damn. Yrene called four times." I said, and tried dialing her number, but it kept on ringing. She didn't pick the call.

"She also called me." Kaden muttered, and tried to call Yrene too.

Then Ethan picked his phone up to check if Yrene had also called.

Why had she been calling?

"Do you think that could have been the work of the rogues?" One of two approaching women asked.

"No. The rogues attacked the orphanage. See. The Alphas settled it." The second one replied, pointing.

"So you mean they're not aware the Palace was burnt?" The first woman asked, looking worried, and I, Ethan and Kaden looked at each other.

"Excu…" Kaden was about to say, winding down the window, but Ethan had already started the ignition.

As he drove, I wished I was the one driving. Although he had slightly passed the speed limit, I felt it wasn't enough, and we needed more speed.

When we got to the Palace, we saw about three quarters, looking severely burnt, and Yrene's quarters was among them.

We ran in, and saw the maids looking troubled.

When they saw us, they also ran to us.

"Miss Yrene was locked in her room, while the fire went on. Nobody had any idea she was in the room." One of them reported immediately, looking scared.

"Damn, she was sleeping." Kaden suddenly said. "I checked in her before we were told the rogues had attacked. She was sleeping in her room." He added.

"She's in the hospital right now." Another said, and they looked uneasy.

"Was anyone else, hurt?" Ethan asked, and they shook their heads, but we noticed they were looking really scared.

"What's the damn problem!" I shrieked, and they scrambled backwards.

"It was Silver that was burnt." Two of them said, and after a moment of shock, all three of us, turned, and ran.

We didn't even have the time to scold them for not telling us the truth earlier.

It was a much more serious case.

Silver was deadly to wolves, and could do a whole lot of injury bullets or knives couldn't do.

If the Palace was burnt with Silver, and Yrene had been in at that moment…

She could be dead.
