Mate
YRENE'S POV.
I gazed lovingly at Theo, and gave him a hug.
"Let's talk before I leave. I want to make sure you're happy." I told him, and he chuckled.
"Alright. If you say so." He replied.
The triplets also looked happy, and I couldn't believe how well things had turned out for me.
The triplets were given food to eat, and rooms too, although we snuck into each other's rooms countless times, throughout the night to make love to each other.
And each time, it was bliss.
Early in the morning, I had packed my things, since Theo said he wanted me to remember him whenever I looked at them, and I had agreed.
Before I left, I knocked on the door of his room, and he opened it.
"Oh, you're leaving already? I'm sorry, I wasn't keeping track of time. Have you had breakfast?" He asked, and I nodded.
"We had breakfast not too long ago. I would rather not wake you. Your maids said you were sound asleep." I replied, with a smile.
"You should have woken me, though."
"Theo. I became a fortune-teller." I suddenly said, rocking back, and forth on my feet.
"Wait… you became a what?" He asked, chuckling.
"I became a fortune-teller, and I'm going to read your palm. Hand out." I said, stretching out my palm, and he laughed, before placing his large hand on my small one.
"What do you see?" He asked, looking at me, with an amused smile.
"Hmm. I see…" I began, as I traced the lines on his palm. "A mate. The mate you've been wishing, and searching for." I told him dramatically, and he burst into laughter.
"You're something else, Yrene." He replied, wagging his index finger at me, and I was satisfied he was smiling.
"I'm serious. You'll find her soon. Mark my words." I replied, squeezing his extended palm tight. Then I left it, and held my hands behind my back. "Although I'm not sure if she'll be as good, or as pretty as me, but she'll be perfect for you." I added, coyly, and he laughed so much, that he fell back on a chair.
"Oh my…" He let out softly, and laughed again. "Well, we'll see. You're a fortune-teller, and I'll find her soon, as you said. Let's see if she is indeed perfect for me." He replied, playing along, and we chuckled, as he got up from his seat.
We left his room to go to the triplets, who were busy waiting for us in the living room, and when they saw us approaching, they got up from their seats.
"Now, it's time to make it back to your pack." Theo said, with a large smile on his face, and after that, he drove us in his car to another route, where it'd be easier to get back to our pack.
There, I hugged him goodbye, and he reminded me of my foretelling, threatening to find me, and detain me in his house if it didn't come true.
I had laughed, and told him his house was the best prison I could ever be detained in, and that I'd easily gain all the pounds of flesh I had tried so hard to lose.
The triplets and I took the bus like normal kids, who were returning home after a trip, and they asked me lots of questions about my stay in Theo's house.
They made me know he was a really well-known, and famous Alpha whom their father, and a man called Mr. Gawde respected.
And according to them, Mr. Gawde was their father's right-hand man, who was the hardest person to please in the world. He reported every single thing going on to their father, and chastised them in place of their father when they were younger.
Although they also informed me he was leaving because after long years of his life, he finally found his mate, and their father wanted him to be happy with her.
After the bus, we took a cab, and I was surprised when I heard we were going to the pack house.
"Why?" I asked, looking at them, and Kaden tucked my hair behind my ear, neatly.
"We want to present to him, the lady we wish to mate with." He replied, and I blushed. "The lady we chose." He added.
Truly, absence made the heart grow fonder. Who could have thought Kaden could be that gentle, and romantic?
Probably it was simply that he didn't know what he had until it was gone.
When I was gone, they most likely realized countless things.
We got to the pack house, and went to the Alpha's study.
He was going over some important papers when the maid, who had gone in to announce our arrival, returned.
"You can come in." She informed us gracefully, and we walked in.
The Alpha looked up, and stared at me intently. It felt like he was already disapproving of me, without the triplets saying a word.
We sat on white sofas in his study that looked more like an office in a big company, and were served tea.
Minutes later, he approached us, and sat opposite us.
"So, you've finally found the maid who gave you so much trouble." He began, as he leaned back on the sofa, crossing his legs.
"She's no longer a maid. She paid to terminate the contract." Ethan replied, dropping the contract papers in front of him.
"Oh, so she's leaving?" He asked, raising his brows.
"She's staying." Reece replied, and the Alpha scoffed.
"She has no more business with you, so why would you want her to stay?" He asked.
"We want to mate with her, and not Eileen." Reece said to him, and the Alpha furrowed his brows.
"What?" He asked.
"She is our mate. Not Eileen. Eileen might bring us more money, but not our happiness." Ethan explained, looking serious.
"So, you want to mate with her?" He asked, and his gaze fell on me, hard, and strong.
No, he didn't approve of me.
