Chapter 313 Unplanned Kidnapping

Chapter 313 Unplanned Kidnapping
ADRIANA

The bar was still pindrop silent about a minute later. Which honestly felt like hours. I was ready to throw this whole undercover thing under the bus and command them all when one of the large men stood up.

“You heard the lady. Don't start acting all dumb now. Who knows Tobias Harrison?” his voice boomed in the place, bouncing off the walls.

I hadn't been expecting him to say anything but I appreciated the help because finally someone stood up.

“I do.”

It was one of the school boys.

“You.” I pointed at him with the bottle and then threw it to the ground “Come here.”

Obviously, he was scared as he made his way over to me and I walked away from the pig on the floor so I could meet him halfway.

“You say you know the man I'm looking for?”

He nodded and I saw how his hands shook.

“Yes. He's my father.”

His father? Well, this was interesting. What were the odds?

I brought out the picture and showed it to him.

“Is this the man? Is this your father?”

He took one look and nodded.

I pointed to Hazel.

“Go to that lady over there and go with her.”

I turned back to.the crowd that I had now gathered.

“Well, I apologize for stopping your evening. Please continue while I think of a way to deal with this…mess.”

Why did I have to deal with him? He was the one who was assaulting me so if anything, he should be grateful I'm not taking him back to the kingdom for Elijah to deal with.

“You can go. I'll take care of it.”

The big man that had stood up for me earlier had offered to clean this up.

“Thank you. Thank you so much.”

I was already walking away but I still heard it.

“It’s a pleasure, my Queen.”

How did he know…what was the point in asking questions?

I'm just glad that he didn't say anything.

I went outside, finally happy that I could breathe proper air without choking.

The kid was already in the car with Hazel.

“How did I do?”

Hazel chuckled. “Well, I didn't expect you to smash a bottle on anyone's head on your first mission but you did well. I mean, we got what we came here for.”

Exactly, the end justifies the means.

“Where are you taking me? I haven't done anything wrong.”

He was already crying.

“No, you haven't. It's your father I need to see. You're going to take me to him. Do you understand? And don't even think of doing anything funny. Give me your phone.”

I collected the phone from him and switched it off.

“Now, give her directions to your house.”

“He’s not at home. He's at work.”

I used that time to eat even though Hazel had eaten my chicken. I didn't know what was with everybody and taking my chicken.

“What is going on?”

I looked up to see policemen aiming their guns at us. They had blocked off the road and Hazel brought the car to a halt.

“What’s going on?”

“I have no idea. Maybe they think we're someone else.”

Or maybe it was because I had broken a bottle on someone's head.

Well, it was fair, he groped me.

A man stepped forward.

“Come out of the car with your hands in the air and you won't get hurt.”

That man…

I was beginning to get anxious.

“Hazel, what should we do?”

“Get down from the car. Put your hands in the air. They need to see that we're not a threat.”

I did exactly that. Elijah was going to laugh when I told him what happened today.

They ran over and put us in cuffs and the little toad that was putting my cuffs on twisted my arm too hard so I shouted in pain.

“Hey! Watch it, you bumpkin! Don't you know how to do your job?”

“Yeah, keep smart talking. You're already in so much trouble. You're going to need a damn good lawyer for this one.”

They brought the kid out of the car but they didn't cuff him. That was how I knew what was going on.

As they pushed us to the car, I tried to speak to Hazel but she was hurling insults at the officer that was pulling her away.

We were in for some very deep shut.

Unfortunately, they didn't put us in the same car so I had to ride in silence to the station.

The officers transporting me however weren't silent.

“You think it's a joke kidnapping the District commissioner's son? Do you know how much trouble you are in for this?”

Tobias was the Commissioner?

What did he and Lucy have in common?

Hazel's car pulled up first and I followed behind her as we marched into the station.

“Both of you, take a seat there and don't even think of doing anything funny.”

We sat in front of a desk.

“We need to tell them who we are. If not, they'll think we came here to kidnap the kid. Which they already do. We need to get out of here.”

I couldn't spend the night in jail. I needed to get back to my kids. Lana would be hungry now.

After about an hour of trying to get someone to speak to us, an officer finally sat in front of us.

Well, I don't know which part of him sat in front of us first. Him or his pot belly.

“So it was you two. You know when the call came in, I thought that we were up against real gangsters. I had no idea that it was you two. What a waste of effort.”

Well, that hurts. Couldn't we pass for actual gangsters?

“Sir, listen. You're mistaken. We weren't trying to kidnap him. We needed to see his father and he was taking us to him. That's what happened. I'm the Beta and she's the Queen.”

He paused typing on his computer.

“Hey Lenny! Come hear this story. It's really good.”

Other policemen gathered and we knew that they were toying with us.

“Darling, if you're the Queen, then I'm the King. Don't be silly.”
