Chapter 17 Hand to Hand Combat

I watched others spar before us and I had to say.
Most of these girls didn't look as strong as they were. The way they easily threw each other on the ground made me wonder if the women were like this, how would the men be?
It finally got to my turn with Hannah. Her eyes were on me like a hunter waiting to kill a prey.
She looked confident that she would crush me just like that girl said.
“You would regret embarrassing me this morning.”
I wasn't even the one who had said anything to her. I had simply wanted to introduce myself and she took the opportunity to introduce me as a wet dog to everyone.
Why didn't she take her anger out on Aiden?
Hazel was right. I was no longer in White Crescent where I had to ensure every treatment. Now, I had to fight for myself or else, I would be treated like trash.
Whether she was the former Beta's sister or the Beta himself, I had to stand up for myself.
I know I had made an enemy and there was only one way to fight an enemy.
“I did nothing to you. You were the one who started this.”
I didn't care if I got injured. I already told Hazel that I was ready for whatever was going to happen so really, I didn't care if I got hurt. I was going to face her head on.
“Fight!”
Hannah raised her fists and assumed her stance.
Besides, I was very confident in my hand combat and that was why I hated the fact that I could never actually hit Lisa. She was just a bitch who didn't know how to fight.
My eyes caught Aiden's, who was giving me a worried look. I gave him a small smile and a nod and turned back to Hannah.
He didn't have to worry about me. It was time for me to start worrying about myself.
She made the first move, swinging her right hook very close to my face but I was quick enough to dodge it, sending me a couple of steps back.
“Come here, you bitch!”
She swung continuously at me, not giving me time to even raise my head. I was so happy I had put my hair in a bun, helping me to see her fists as they aimed for my head.
When I finally got tired of her punches, I aimed my left hook for her gut, putting a bit of muscle into it so she would know that she wasn't dealing with a dead beat.
That punch made her stumble to the floor clutching her middle.
I let my guard down the moment I saw her on the floor and I turned my back for one moment, giving her the time to get up and push me to the floor, pinning me to the ground with my hand behind me, twisted at a very painful angle.
Her knee digging into my back was even more painful.
“You dirty dog, I shouldn't have expected any better from a wolf. I didn't know you would make your move so quickly.”
I turned to look at her. Confusion covering my face. “What are you talking about?"
She twisted my arm further.
“The Alpha! I can smell him or you. Do you think I'm stupid? What did you do with him? You think you can seduce him?"
Wow, she was exactly like Lisa. Stupid and self centered.
“You are simply delusional.” I raised my leg to kick her in the back, making her release her grip and giving me time to push her off me and get up on my feet.
“You better not be having dreams, little dog. The King belongs to me and me alone. Everyone knows that. I won't allow you to destroy what I've been planning to do."
I knew she was nothing but a bully. A weak bully who couldn't do more than try to scare me.
I punched her, square in the jaw.
“I find girls like you really weak. You know, girls who can't go and speak to the guy they like and instead, they bitch at other girls and cause issues for them. Jeez, you're simply irritating.”
She kicked me hard, causing my knees to buck and I fell to the floor and she grabbed me by my hair, pulling my head back and slapping me across the face.
My position gave me a clear aim for her gut so I took the shot.
First her gut, when she doubled over, I elbowed her then landed another punch.
As she fell to the floor, she dragged me with her, trying to pin my shoulders to the floor.
“You really won't like to mess with me. You don't know who I am and what I'm capable of. I will crush you, little dog. Don't try me, don't cross me.”
I got away from her and stood up.
“I try to stay away from trouble but you can be rest assured, Hannah, I won't back down when someone tries to mess with me. If you want trouble, I will give you more than you can handle.”
She lunged at me, and I couldn't predict her next move so I ran into her, tackling her to the ground.
Her eyes changed colors in an instant. I'd seen it before in my father, it always happened when he was about to shift.
Maybe I should have blasted so much.
“Yara! Now would be a good time for you to help out!” I called out to my wolf.
Radio silence.
“Yara! Help!”
Hannah was already growling and I immediately got off her and put some distance between us.
“Hannah! Stop!”
Her eyes were not moving from me and I could see her claws slowly coming out.
“Hannah, halt!”
It was like the command was her trigger, she lunged at me with her claws fully out, aiming at my face.
I covered my face with my hands, waiting for the worst to happen.
