Chapter 16 Wolf Smell

Chapter 16 Wolf Smell
ADRIANA

By the time my eyes jolted awake, the sun was already very high in the sky and I jumped up from the bed, putting on my clothes in a hurry.

I was surely done for this time. Lisa was asking to have my head on a platter since her plan to kill me last time didn't work. And my father was going to be there for the whole show.

I tripped over my own feet and fell face first into the rug.

My room didn't have a rug... so where was this coming from?

I raised my head and looked around me, realizing where I was.

"I'm so stupid."

Lisa and all of her bullshit were miles away, rotting away in that damned pack. I didn't have to be scared of them anymore because they couldn't hurt me here even if they tried.

Sighing in relief, I got up from the floor and walked into the shower. I was still deciding whether the bathroom, the closet or the bed was my favorite part of this room.

My bathroom had everything a girl could ever wish for. All the toiletries, it was decorated so beautifully and it was just so peaceful.

My closet has all the clothes I never had, all the things that Lisa wore that I always wished I could wear. I wonder who had picked them out.

And then my bed... I loved it for just being my bed.

After my shower, I walked out of the bathroom to see a tray on the bed already. I hadn't heard anyone come in. Maybe it was because I was singing so loudly in the shower. But how could I not?

I was so far away from Lisa and I would never get to see her again.

Wolfing down my breakfast (pardon the pun), I dressed up and made my way to the gym for training.

Hazel had come into my room last night after Betty left to ask me how I had settled in.

"Everything is fine. I just had dinner."

I had purposely left out the events of the day because I didn't want her to bother about it. If Elijah wanted to tell her, then that was up to him. I didn't even want to remember that it happened.

"Okay, training starts at nine in the mornings so you can find your way to the gym."

I should have probably told her that I had issues with finding my way around a place I was new to. So I had to stop a maid walking by to ask her for directions to the gym.

By the time I entered the huge gym, only one person was there.

He was very handsome and I was almost lost in his blue eyes.

"Hey, you must be Adriana. My name is Aiden, I'm the Gamma."

Why was this kingdom just full of beautiful and handsome people?

Back at my pack, the Beta was some old man that I couldn't stand close to because of his body odor and the Gamma... Well, the Gamma was even older.

But this... Aiden was a sight for sore eyes.

"Yes, I'm Adriana.. I hope I'm not intruding."

"Oh no no, Hazel actually informed me that you'll be joining us today. I was just warming up. Hope you're ready."

I was about to respond when I heard a noise behind me. A crowd of people had entered the gymnasium and I froze.

They were women, all of them and they looked like models too. They all greeted Aiden and spread out, continuing their talk and warming up.

I stood there confused. I thought Hazel said that she trained men. So women were allowed to fight too?

Wow, this place kept surprising me everyday.

"You don't have to worry. Women and men train differently due to their physical differences and I'm in charge of training the she-wolves. Hazel trains the guys."

"Oh, thank you for explaining."

Somehow, I would feel more comfortable if I was training with Hazel. I didn't know this guy even though he seemed friendly.

"Well, you're not one of us."

A girl whose presence I hadn't noticed before was standing in front of me. She was petite, with short black hair and a strong gaze.

"Oh, yeah. I'm new here. My name is-"

She stopped me with her hand and took a deep smell of me.

"Ugh." She stepped back and covered her nose with her hand.

I glanced at Aiden who was busy speaking to someone else. Why wasn't he here now?

"You're a werewolf." She said it like the words were bitter in her mouth.

"Well, if you had let me get two words out, you would have known instead of having to smell me like a dog."..

"You are a dog."

Who was this girl?

Before I could respond, she turned around and raised her hand.

"Hey girls, look over here! We have a dog in our midst. She's a wolf... a smelly, dirty, useless wolf."

Everyone laughed and I felt so small, being the attention of their piercing and unfriendly gazes.

Aiden stepped in front of me, covering my view with his broad shoulders but I could still hear their laughter.

"That's enough. Hannah, that's enough. When you train, you don't smell any different. Besides, she doesn't smell."

I wanted to laugh at Aiden's words but when I looked up, Hannah was fuming at the embarrassment and for some reason, I was the recipient of the anger.

"Formation!"

I stepped out from behind him and everyone had formed lines.

"You can fix yourself into any spot you find."

I did find a couple of empty spaces but they always covered it up before I could get in line so I ended up staying at the back and trying to look over their heads.

I couldn't see Aiden anymore but I could still hear his voice.

"Today, we will be engaging in one-on-one combat. That means, you will all pick a partner to pair with and you and your partner would try to make as much physical contact as possible. No weapons, just your body. Declare your partner."

Everyone began running around and I just stood there looking and hoping that someone would pick me.

Right before me, they stood in twos, leaving me there.

"You don't have a partner?" Aiden approached me.

"No, not-"

"I'll be her partner!"

You have got to be kidding me.

We both looked back at Hannah who had her hand up and a very weird smile on her face.

"Very well then."

As he walked away from me, I felt relieved that I finally had a partner. One on one combat right? How hard could it be?

"You're done for." one of the girls said behind me "Hannah is the former Beta's sister and she's very good in combat. She's going to crush you."

Only one thought repeated itself in my head. I shouldn't have stayed here. I should have gone to look for Hazel.
