CHAPTER 32
VALERIA POV

My face was flushed with anger when I eventually walked away. Why would he always try to appear everywhere I am? This is no longer fun. Actually, I had hoped to have some fun in the palace but who knew he would come to disrupt my peace?

I looked back to see that he was standing beside the water. The sun shimmers on his dark hair and his blue eyes seem to dart towards my way. I turned back instantly and continued walking. He will find out I was looking at him when I already lied that I was going to see Lady Eliona.

As if the goddess was on my side, I saw Lady Eliona with Adelina. They were actually enjoying some fresh air beside the fall trees. In fact, I was going to dodge but Adelina saw me.

“Is that not Lady Valeria?” she said and stood up. I stopped in my tracks and looked at their way.

“My lady!” Lady Eliona exclaimed in surprise when she saw me. I had no choice but to walk towards them.

“Oh my. You even looked more beautiful. I saw you on the news. I had to admit that the Pack members were surprised to see you. This isn't something I was expecting.” Lady Eliona rambled on without holding back.

Adelina looked like someone who was going to vomit but she held back and smiled at me with her head slightly bowed. I wish I could actually know more about her.

Maybe I will ask Lady Eliona later because Vance told me about her.

“They were jealous of you two.” Lady Eliona added and I smiled.

Who knew I was already trending online?

“It's all because you treated me well and the king is doing the same.

“I know my cousin is caring, Lady Valeria. Where were you?” Lady Eliona said and showed me where to sit.

I sat down and Adelina was on my left side. I looked at Lady Eliona since she just asked me a question and I ought to reply.

“Oh. Vance took me to see the running water. The castle is indeed beautiful.” I confessed and Lady Eliona nodded her head as she offered me orange juice.

“Yes. And you haven't even seen half of it. You will get to see more as time goes on because we are not allowed to go deeper sometimes.” She said and I wondered why they have a restricted area.

“Then I can't wait to uncover a lot of beauty,” I said and took a sip from the juice before placing the cup back on the table in front of us..

The view of the sky is even more beautiful here.

“So how was last night?” Lady Eliona asked, her voice tinged with curiosity as she moved closer to me and I tried to compose myself.

“I am even surprised you are already walking around. You should stay for a while inside and try to regain your energy because the wedding is around the corner.” Lady Eliona said in a whisper and the surroundings suddenly became stifled, making it hard for me to breathe well.

Why do they all have to be so vulgar with their words? I guess that is how things are supposed to be in his Pack.

“The king left early this morning too. Maybe this is why Lady Valeria had to leave early.” Adelina answered instead, drawing out each word before I could even make up a lie.

I guess whatever relationship they had is actually strong.

“Come on Adelina. You can see the king is getting married soon. It's high time you admit that you don't belong to him. I still wonder why you are still around though.” Lady Eliona said and I wonder what I have been missing.

It seems there is more I need to know just like I thought earlier. She is not someone powerful but I could see she came from a powerful family or I could be wrong.

“Ah, Lady Eliona. This is not about jealousy. I think I should let you know since you are curious. I was with the king this morning.” She said and I sat well.

Of course, she wasn't joking because I saw her myself this morning before she got inside the Lycan king Xyrus's room.

“Whoa. You are still as shameless as ever, right? I can't believe you.” Lady Eliona said but I shook my head.

It won't be bad if I try to put her in her place.

“Adelina,” I called her name and crossed my legs, looking at her.

“I don't know the kind of relationship you had with the king but the moment I become his Luna, you will have no choice but to stay clear of my way,” I said with a slight smile and blood drained from her face as if she wasn't expecting that.

“If you understand, you can take your leave now,” I said and Adelina stood up from the chair and smiled but the smile couldn't hide those emotions.

“Her face flushed with embarrassment but I know this was just because she wasn't expecting to say anything back.

I am not interested in her love life but she really needs to learn how to talk. I still haven't forgiven her for what she did this morning.

“Wow, Lady Valeria. I didn't know you had it in you. She disappeared immediately.” Lady Eliona said giggling.

“It's fine Lady Eliona. I don't just like the way she speaks to you.” I said and took a sip from the juice again before inhaling the fresh air deeply.

“I am curious. Is he the king's mistress?” I asked Lady Eliona even though I knew the answer to that question.

“No. She is not but their relationship is complicated.” Lady Eliona said and turned to face me.

Curiosity tugged at me but I refused to act on it. If Lady Eliona was going to tell me then I believe he will.

“However Lady Valeria, I want you to know something. He is not the type who has been with many women. We are only aware of Adelina and no one else” Lady Eliona said and I don't know if it's actually something I wanted to hear.

“But I can assure you that things will be different. I can see that he is actually in love with you.” She added and I almost choked on my saliva.

What?

Is she for real?

Because screw that. We are in a contract marriage and they are not even aware of that.

“So enough about them. When are you going to pick your wedding dress?” Lady Eliona asked me.

“I haven't really thought about it,” I told her and looked away. Gareth was outside, talking to someone.

“You should send for your friends again Lady Valeria. They will even be glad to accompany you. You should know it is tradition that the king is not supposed to see you in your wedding dress until the wedding day.” Lady Eliona said and I looked at her with my face flushed with disbelief.

“Wow. I didn't know there was a rule like this” I confessed.

There is still a lot I need to learn.

“I understand.. It's because you are an omega.”

“Okay. My friends won't be able to come until the day of the wedding. I can just go and get the dress myself.” I said and Lady Eliona shut her eyes, shaking her head slowly in disagreement.

“Oh. That isn't allowed. If you are free tomorrow we can go together if you don't mind.” She proposed carefully and th
ere is no fucking way I am going to decline that offer. I can't.

“Then I am in. Thank you.” I said.
