Chapter 39: Confrontation
Gabriella.
I was sitting on my bed when there was a knock on the door of my room. When the door opened, Javier entered. His expression was serious as if he had something important to say.
I took a deep breath before standing up to face him. He came closer to me while staring into my eyes.
"What do you need, Alpha Javier?" I asked him.
"What did you do to Amanda?" He asked me back, which made me frown.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Alpha Javier. I'm not doing anything to her," I defended myself.
"Amanda left crying earlier, Gabriella. When I asked her what happened, she said I would ask you," he informed me. My forehead furrowed even more because of what he said.
"If you're asking me, I didn't do anything bad to her, Alpha Javier. If she's referring to what I told her, I have no regrets," I replied.
"Why, what did you say to her, Gabriella?" He asked curiously.
"I just told the truth," I answered briefly.
He frowned at my answer, "Truth? What truth did you say?" he asked again.
"I told her you didn't love her," I asked directly.
Her eyes widened, "Why did you say that, Gabriella?" He was annoyed when he asked me.
"Why? That's the truth, isn't it, Alpha Javier? That you don't love her?" I asked him back.
He grabbed his forehead and shook his head before looking at me, "You don't know what you're doing, Gabriella!" he said.
I grinned, "I know what I'm doing, Alpha Javier, and if you ask me, it should be up to her. She should just open her mind and consciousness to the truth!" I replied.
"I know you know why I married her, don't you, Gabriella?" he asked.
"Yes, I know. Since you couldn't accept me as your destined mate then, and you need the support of their pack for Bloodlust, am I right, Alpha Javier?" I answered him.
He was silent because of what I said. I think he was thinking about what he would say to me. He bowed his head and said, "I made a mistake," he murmured.
I frowned because of what he said. Did he make a mistake? I tilted my head.
'It's too late for your realization, Javier, because what happened has already been done! You can't bring back the past! You can't bring my child back!' I said to myself.
"You're right. One reason is that bloodlust needs the support of Amanda's pack," he began.
"You know many rogue werewolves are roaming around in every pack here in the Kingdom, so we need protection, and what can help the bloodlust is Amanda's pack," he explained.
"You can't blame me for rejecting you either, Gabriella. You are a wolfless werewolf, a servant, an omega! So what do you expect, that the future Alpha, his destined mate is an omega?" He continued.
My teeth gritted. I clenched my fists because of what he said. I know those things, but I feel like he's underestimating me!
I was about to speak when I noticed him approaching me. He held my hands and looked into my eyes.
"But as I said, I made a mistake," he whispered.
"I thought I could make my pain and longing for you when I rejected you because I am the future alpha of bloodlust. I thought you were useless in my life. That I will quickly forget you, and my feelings for Amanda will change and go back to what I felt when I met her, but no!" he said.
"When I heard that rogue werewolves attacked you, and I found out that you were pregnant, I realized that you are the one who will give me unique joy in my life and the one who will color my world, Gabriella," he continued.
"When I couldn't find you, I didn't believe you were dead. I felt you were alive, and when I saw you, I promised myself I would never let you go!" he ended.
I chuckled because of what I heard from him, "Are you kidding, Alpha Javier?" I asked him.
He did not remove his gaze from me. I withdrew my hands from him and moved away slightly.
"Do I look like I am kidding, Gabriella?" He asked me back.
"And I know you have a grudge against me because of what I said," he added.
I looked at him badly.
"Yes, and you know why I told you that, Alpha Javier. That's why I'm wondering why you sent me back here. You should be happy now! You're so glad because you're free, you and Luna Amanda are free! " I replied.
He took a deep breath, "I told you my reasons, Gabriella, why I brought you back here because I love you because I need you to be here in Bloodlust!" he replied.
I couldn't help myself. I laughed because of what he said.
"You're great, Alpha Javier, but I know what's true. Don't put me through such words because I will never believe what you say until you do what I want!" I said.
He furrowed his brow at what I said, "Are you talking about the rogue werewolves that attacked you? That they are pointing out that I was the one who ordered them?" he asked me.
I knew that he already knew about the rogue werewolves that Alpha Viktor had caught before.
"Let me tell you. I had nothing to do with what happened to you!" he defended.
"I interrogated the rogue werewolves when Alpha Viktor brought them here at the Bloodlust, and they said that I was the one who ordered them," he began explaining.
"When I found out who ordered them, I couldn't believe it!" he insisted.
"It's easy to say a neighborly thing, Alpha Javier!"
"I'm not lying! Whoever ordered them, why don't they know me? Think carefully, Gabriella. And why would I do that to you?" he replied and asked me questions.
"I know I've been cruel to you. I know I've hurt you because of what I've done, but I would never be able to order someone to kill you!" He defended himself.
I frowned, "What do you mean those rogue werewolves are lying? What will be their reward for lying if they've been caught, Alpha Javier?"
He closed his eyes, "What I thought, the one who ordered them pretended to be me so that if they didn't succeed in their plan, I would be the one to blame!" he answered.
Javier approached me while looking into my eyes.
"Look into my eyes, Gabriella. You know I'm not lying," he told me carefully.
"I can't harm our future child, but there's nothing we can do because that has already happened," he continued.
"I know you're still mad at me, and you're having second thoughts. But I'll do everything to show you that everything I said is true because I won't allow you to be separated from me again!" he ended.
I couldn't speak because of what he said. I clenched my fists as I looked at him.
'No. Everything he said was a lie. He is cleaning himself, and he intends to trick me! I will not allow myself to fall into the hole he is making!' I said to myself.
"I don't believe you, Javier! No matter what you say, you will pay for what you did to me!" I firmly told him.
He sighed, "I know that's what you're going to say, Gabriella. No matter what you say, no matter what you think, my conscience is clear. I have no reason to lie to you anymore because I want you to trust me. Love me again!" he replied.
"What you said will never happen, Javier! You ruined my life because of your selfishness! You are the cause of my child's death!"
"Think what you want to think. I'll do anything to show you that I'm not to blame for what happened to you!"
I can clearly see in his eyes that he is not lying. I'm confused. If he wasn't the one who ordered the rogue werewolves to kill me, who would do that to me? I don't have an enemy, and he's the only one with a reason to do that to me!
"I'm not stupid, Javier. No matter what you do and say, I won't believe you!" I'm stubborn.
He was silent because of what I said. While we were in that situation, the door of my room suddenly opened. Javier and I looked at the door, and we saw two warriors panting.
"Why did you come in so casually?" I asked the warriors.
They looked at us, "Sorry, Gabriella, for our sudden intrusion, but we need to talk to Alpha Javier," a warrior apologized.
"Why? What do you need?" Javier asked them.
"Luna Amanda was attacked by the rogue werewolves, Alpha Javier. She's in the hospital now!" The warrior informed him.
Javier widened his eyes because of the news that the warriors had informed him.
"Prepare the car!" he ordered.
