Chapter Eighty Eight
Chapter Eighty Eight
Luna's Pov
The both of us lay on the floor of the rooftop, watching the star-strewn sky as breeze brushed the hair on our skins.
I'd experienced breaking my virginity twice, and both times were so beautiful. I couldn't believe Nikkie and I made love.
Each moment had been a burst of passion, a splash of deep and raw emotion.
He lay next to me, his dark hair strewn over his face, and I watched him, putting my finger on his face, so I could push his hair aside.
His skin was still ridiculously soft, just as his face was ridiculously handsome. He was every bit the prince charming.
I can remember when I first met him. I wondered how Keira could fall for someone who looked as feminine as he looked, but now I understood perfectly.
Just what she saw in him, what she liked about him, and what kept her falling for him over the years, even though he constantly rejected her.
“You’re making me shy. Stop staring,” he suddenly muttered, his lids opening to reveal those clear blue eyes that made my heart rate spike up.
“I wasn't staring.” I said, turning to face the stars instead of looking directly at him.
“What actually just happened between us?”
“Magic did. It all just happened in a blur.” My cheeks turned a nasty shade of crimson, “You don't have to feel bad or…”
“I don't feel bad.” He said curtly, and I bit my lip, trying not to smile, but the smile burst out anyway.
“I don't feel bad either. Oh! Nikkie, something actually happened when I was searching for you guys.” I sat up, looking at him, and he did the same, leaning against the balcony rail.
“What happened?”
“I met a unicorn,”
“Uni… wait, what?”
“Yeah, sounds crazy, right? They're like, super rare. It had its horn somehow tangled in the bushes when it saw me, but the most shocking aspect was that it spoke,”
Nikkie's eyes went wide, “English?”
“What do you think? French?”
“Wait… well, I think I shouldn't forget this place is weird. What did it say?”
It told me that if I want to meet the MoonCub, then I should face who I am.
“Face who you are? You're a selfish person.”
“Ouch. Why does it feel weird when you call me that?”
“Because that's exactly what you are? So this creature said, if you face who you are, then you can meet the MoonCub?”
“Yes. What do you think it is? As a selfish person, the most selfish thing I've done is refuse to have kids, but they can't possibly expect me to have kids here,”
“Perhaps the author is a selfless person? Or the author is in love with kids?”
“I don't think the author would know my history, and be aware of me not wanting kids,” I reminded him, folding my arms.
“Well, let's stick to the most obvious thing, before moving on to other things. How about you start spending time with the kids?”
“What kids?”
“The kids here,” he replied, and I raised a brow.
“There are kids here? I haven't seen any since I arrived here.”
“Yeah, they have another building here for the kids. I checked it out earlier today while I was trying to get the hang of how the place is structured.” He replied, running a hand through his hair.
“Won’t it be full of noise? Children crying? The whole place and…”
He placed his finger on my lips, “You’ll learn to love it. Find the beauty in kids.” He said, and I pretended to bite his finger, “Hey,” He laughed, and I chuckled, tucking my messy hair behind my ear.

I walked into the large room which was about the size of a ballroom.
It was a place of color. Pink sofas, green curtains, blue shelves.
It was like the combination of three living rooms, and the children were all playing, screaming, shouting.
I instantly hated it. The way the noise seemed to penetrate my ears painfully. The giggles, screams, and all that.
Nikkie brought me here and left. What did he expect me to do with those kids?
“Oh, you are here.” A plump woman came to meet me, taking the bags of cakes and sweet treats I'd brought, “This will be beautiful for lunch!” She screeched, taking me to stand at the very front right in front of a large beautiful winding staircase.
“Attention, kids! We have snacks!” The plump woman called on top of her voice, and as the children heard her words, they all came running towards us, crowding around the center, looking at me with intrigued eyes. This was brand new.
They all had huge round eyes, asking questions with their stares.
“This pretty lady here, brought us all some snacks!” she squealed, and opened the bag. Immediately she took out the sweet cakes, the whole place spiraled into a noisy frenzy, with the kids screaming.
“Okay now, get in line. Get in line!” The woman ordered, and they all scrambled to join a line.
However, behind them, there was a little girl in a wheelchair, who tried to wheel herself towards us, but kept crashing into things like the sofas, tables, shelves helplessly. .
I stepped off the side, walking to her. None of the kids even noticed me. They were way too busy staring at the snacks.
I went to her, and was about to stand in front of her when she suddenly moved backwards. She was wearing a bucket hat.
“Hi. You don't want some sweets? Aren't you coming?” I asked, but she lowered her head, “When an elderly person is speaking, you don't pretend to not hear them.” I said, trying my best to sound friendly.
Then I pulled off her hat, only to meet with a pair of enchanting gray eyes, a soft, lovely V-shaped face with porcelain skin, and silky dark hair which tumbled down her little shoulders.
However, I realized as her pretty eyes stared before me… that she was blind.
Her pink lips were put strongly together in a firm line, but I really didn't mind. I was strung by pity.
“You can't take off my hat that way.” She snapped.
What a pretty little fierce thing.
“Why isn't anyone taking you there? They know you can't see.”
“Do you think anyone would remember me when you offered snacks?” She asked haughtily, and for some reason, I smiled.
Despite her weakness, she was strong. Just like me. I never let any situation tackle me down. I remained fierce no matter what.
I knelt in front of her, and gazed into her pretty eyes. And for the first time, my heart melted for a kid.
