Once safely behind the closed door of her apartment Genni lent on it for a moment to catch her breath. She was so confused as to what had just happened. How had she burnt Jonas, her father and Greg. All she could remember was being extremely angry. Leaving the door Genni made her way to the bed. Linking quickly with all the inner circle at once to say she was going to converse with Sapphire and she needed to be on her own. After sending it Genni settled herself on the bed and closed her eyes. Feeling Sapphire take over, she found herself slipping into the world where she could look her wolf in the face when she spoke to her.
Opening her eyes and seeing that she was sat by the familiar camp fire Genni was surprised to see the Sapphire wasn’t there yet. Sitting on one of the large tree trunks that lay parallel with another, Genni waited. It was not long however before she saw her beautiful wolf walking over the small bridge towards her. Sapphire sat opposite her just in front of the trunk that was there. But said nothing at first. She just stared at Genni and Genni stared back. When she decided to final break the long silence Sapphire asked one question “what the Fuck just Happen, Gen’?
Looking confused and frightened Genni tried to explain herself ‘I don’t know Saph, one minute I was talking to Dad and the next I felt an anger that I had never felt before. It consumed me. I knew you were there talking to me but it didn’t make a difference. It only made things worse if I’m honest. Please help me, I’m so scared that I will hurt our Mate again, or anyone”. Genni was crying now and Sapphire let out an exasperated sigh ‘Gen, you need to understand something that you tend to forget. You! You are the daughter of a Goddess. We! We are joined together in this life and that means that Selene is my Mother too. I know what that means but I don’t think you do. Your pulling away from our destiny to try and make a difference to the pack by trying to be an ordinary Luna. Your not! What I don’t understand is why you don’t just accept your destiny and do what we were sent here to do. When was the last time you tried to find out if you had any more abilities or tried to properly control the ones you already have’? Jumping to her feet, Genni knew that everything Sapphire had said to her was right but it was still hard to hear. She was being called out by her wolf for forgetting or blocking out her destiny with the mundane life of a regular Luna. But Genni didn’t feel like it was a mundane life. She always thought that the Luna should be the back bone of the pack, the person that supports their mate and upholds pack rules. That sparked a thought in Genni’s mind and she went back to sit opposite Sapphire.
‘Do you think that just happened to me because I found out about Phil and I felt like I was a failure. I didn’t see any of it happening and I should have, Saph. I should have been aware of the discord. I should have been more up to scratch on pack protocols and the hierarchy that is in place’ looking at her wolf directly she carried on ‘I know you think that I should only want to focus on the destiny we have been given. But I believe that this pack, our pack, is directly link to it. In the battle with the children of Kane that is to come, do you think the pack will follow and take direction of an 18 year old girl that never bothered to make an effort with them? Do you think that they would willingly put their lives on the line for someone they think doesn’t give a shit about them’?
‘I hadn’t thought of it that way’ Sapphire admitted. ‘I was only focusing with the task we where sent here do. Of course the pack won’t follow the lead of a young girl who never made any effort to talk with them. I know I wouldn’t like it had the roles been reversed’.
Genni watched her beautiful white wolf to try to gauge where her head was at. But as Genni was not inside her head anymore but, sitting opposite her it was nigh on impossible to do. For what seemed like an hour Sapphire final spoke ‘you need to sort shit out with the pack first before we can give our all to the destiny side of things, I understand that. But Gen, you got to start taking your powers more seriously, please. What happened today can never happen again. You lost control, if Jonas had not arrived when he did you would have seriously hurt or maybe killed all those that were around you. The power we possess is so potent that without proper handling, could have serious ramifications for anyone around us. I know for one I do not want to be responsible for the death of any of my loved ones or friends‘.
Nodding her head in agreement and then facing the ground in shame Genni accepted everything that Sapphire had said. As well as the scolding she had received. She knew she deserved it. Saying sorry just didn’t Seem to cut it at the moment. Genni had seriously fuck up. Sapphire let out a soft sigh, she hated it when Genni and herself were at odds. It felt like a huge part of her was pulling at the bond in the wrong direction. So to try and fix the problem Sapphire suggested this ‘I will stand with you in regards to the pack duties but you must promise me that for a few hours a day we concentrate on learning about our abilities and finding ways of controlling them. Instead of letting them burst out of us at random times’? Genni was relieved and appreciated the way Sapphire had handled this. Agreeing at once that she needed to train made Sapphire relax a little. ‘Good, now. We need to discuss Phil and what we need to do’. Again, in full agreement they started to discuss what had happened from the moment they sat down with the Omega’s to now. It was a long discussion with both of the having opinions. As there was contention around some of the discussion they came to a similar compromise to the one before. Both agreed that Phil seemed to think that he was still the ruling Alpha but they didn’t disagree with Rosemary’s part in it all. Sapphire was convinced that Rosemary knew and supported her Mate. Genni felt that there was more to their story and she fully intended to find out what was with them. She didn’t want to think about any kind of abuse going on but she also couldn’t rule out the nagging feeling she had that Rosemary was being controlled. And it didn’t sit well with Genni at all. By the end of the longest Trance Shift they had ever done both Sapphire and herself had clear goals that needed to be achieved before they could once again focus on the battle. They needed to get Lucas back. But they also needed Hilda. She would be crucial in their training and development of the abilities they shared.
