Jonas was blissfully an aware that there was an issue that needed sorting so when he bounded up to Genni as Jax and asked if she wanted to go for a run with upper ranks Genni was so pissed off that she glared at the wolf and told him to “go screw yourself” and she spun on her heel and marched into the pack house. Jax stood frozen to the spot, had she really just said that to him? WTF was going on. Torn between going for a run and following his clearly disgruntled mate he was about to shift back when his father and his old Beta came ambling over and linked with him to hurry him up. Jorah has seen Genni stomping off and assumed they had a lovers tiff. “Leave her be for a bit son, she clearly has a problem with you. What did you do to her this morning”? The other wolves who had now gathered around him made growling noises that sounded like laughter. Feeling a little shamed that they had all witnessed it and agreeing with his father that she was better Left so she could calm down they all started to run towards the forest.
Watching from one of the windows in the entrance way Genni folded her arms and glared after her stupid husband. Was that bitchy? Well, she didn’t care at this point. She couldn’t believe she had been so blind when it came to Phil. How was she to know that her father in law was heavily involved still. She needed to talk to Rosemary before they came back. Linking to her mother in law she found out she was actually out visiting friends in the village. Frustrated, Genni decided to make a start on the panel idea that Molly had. Deciding first to go into the kitchen to grab a coffee she was surprised to see her Dad there, looking around to see if Martha was close by as she walked over to him and gave him a quick hug.
‘Out with it’ Daniel said to her and she looked at him shocked at first then tried for an innocent look that only got a snort out of him ‘sweetheart, I’m your dad, I know when something is wrong. I know in the past that you’ve had your brother to speak to but I’m here to and I want to know if I can help’. Frowning now Genni asked where Lucas was. She tried to think of the last time she had seen him but was stunned to realise it must be days. ‘I thought you knew’? Said Daniel, his turn to frown. ‘Know what’? Genni said suspiciously. ‘Well, your brother was sent back to Alpha Silas’s pack when they left, he’s going to see how things are there and report back. Didn’t Jonas tell you’?
‘No, no he didn’t. Can I ask when this was all decided as I was under the impression that all decisions regarding the bigger problem where to be discussed with the whole inner circle’? Genni was getting pissed off again and she didn’t feel great either. Her body was trembling slightly and she was feeling hot all over. ‘Sweetheart, you don’t expect the Alpha to wait around until your free from your Luna duties before a decision is reached. Do you? I think it stands to reason that the Alpha has complete authority over this pack. And when he is delayed or sorting another problem out I’m sure it is perfectly acceptable for Phil to let us know his decision’. Genni spun around to face her father now and the look she gave him was so intense that Daniel actually squirmed in his seat. ‘Do I have this right, Jonas was not present when Phil told you of his son’s decision and whoever was there at the time just accepted it without question? Is that right’? You could see by Daniel’s face that he realised Genni had a huge problem with what he just said. But he wasn’t sure why. Asking tentatively what this was all about Genni asked ‘I have one question for you, has anything like this happened before? Where Jonas is not there, late what have you and Phil has told you of his son’s decision’? Thinking about seriously now Daniel could recall at least three times that this had happened. Genni closed her eyes and when she opened them Daniel let out a yelp of fright at the colour those eyes shone the deepest sapphire colour he had ever seen.
Trying desperately to talk to his daughter while yelling for Martha or anyone to help him, he tried to move her as she was trembling slightly. Hoping to get her siting down he was pushing her gently towards a chair when Martha and Greg came running. Seeing what was going on and accidentally touching her skin Greg shouted for Sara to stay on the other side of the door. He looked at his hand and he swore that fore a second he felt her skin burn him. Sara being Sara, completely ignored her mate and walked in. Seeing her friend the way she was she ran over to her and started to talk to her but nothing seemed to be working. Everyone was panicking now as her eyes were looking worse than before. So Daniel did the only thing he could, he picked Genni up and screaming as his skin burned at the contact, he did the first thing that came to his mind. He ran outside. He was followed by the others and as they got to the middle of the yard Daniel couldn’t take anymore and dropped Genni to they ground. Martha rushed over to her mate as he lay next to his daughter, it was then that he could see a shimmer coming off her skin. He hadn’t seen it inside, maybe being outside made it show more. Pulling Daniel to his feet while trying to soothe him Martha had tears streaming down her face. Daniel shouted for everyone to get clear and they all ran back a few metres. Greg was in the middle of contacting Dr Julia when a shot of black caught his eye. He was not surprised but extremely relieved when he saw Jax streak out of the forest and straight for them. Shifting as soon as he got close enough he threw himself on the ground in front of his wife and begged her to talk to him. Looking at her husband and mate, then looking behind him to see the wolves she had seen previously she focused on Jonas again and simply said ‘TO LATE’ Jonas scrambled back in fright when he saw what was happening to her. As Genni stood up she lifted her arms so they were held out in front of her. The shimmering was more intense now and it looked like a haze of heat coming from her skin. The haze slowly turned into small blue flames that covered her head to toe. As Jonas moved back in front of her, pleading with her to calm down and talk the colour changed in one of her eyes and Jonas recognised Sapphire shining through. The next thought was from Jax “hold her arms so they are pointing straight up, do it NOW”! Jonas jumped at the order and flung himself at Genni doing exactly what Sapphire had told Jax to do. He held on for dear life as he put his arms around her and held her arms so that they pointed sky ward. Just as he got her into the right position a jet of sapphire coloured flames shot up from her body into the sky. Jonas was yelling now as his skin started to blister but he didn’t let go. He held her and whispered into her mind the entire time. Suddenly, the flames went back to being just on the surface of her skin, then a haze and finally a shimmer before she looked at her husband and screamed at the sight of his burnt body that had now slumped to the ground at her feet.
Throwing herself at Jonas she touched him wherever she could as she mumbled something under her breathe, soon his skin started to look less charred and more like someone with a heavy dose of sunburn. Not long after, his skin returned to its normal colour and by now, Genni had tears pouring down her face as she cradled Jonas’s face in her hands and started to pepper kisses all over it. Coming to in the arms of his mate Jonas was not aware of what happened for a split second then he remembered and putting his arms around Genni, who was still sobbing he said quietly ‘guess I should have followed you, huh’? Then he sparked right out again. But this time Dr Julia was there and assured her he was breathing normally. Turning around to look at everyone else there she saw her father with the same angry looking burns on his arm and she saw that Greg was nursing a burnt hand. Going over to them both she took their hands in hers and started to mumble again. Much quicker than it took with Jonas, the two men were healed. She could see Martha crying and Sara standing in the circle of Greg’s arms, also crying. She had caused this. Whatever she had done, this was all her fault and she couldn’t let this happen again. As she thought it Sapphire spoke and she was angry ‘TRANCE SHIFT NOW’ was all she said to have Genni running for the safety of the pack house and her apartment. Leaving very stunned, very frightened pack members behind her.
