Okay, we have sorted out a few of these files and why they are needed, what about the other three? Genni was unsure what she could need those files for, how naïve she was. Martha handed a file to Genni “This file is specifically made for all staff members that you will be directly in charge of Luna”. Looking wide-eyed at Martha Genni gave a little self-conscious laugh and said “I’m in charge of staff members? I thought it was the Alpha who sorted all that out.” Looking at Molly and then Martha, Genni was confused. “The male pack members, yes and also the staff who work at the school and the pack hospital. But the pack house staff, the childcare centre and event staff are hired by and looked after by you Luna” Martha told her patiently.
“I’m sorry, I should have been aware of that being the daughter of a Luna”. Flushing slightly as she said it Sara came to her rescue. “Well, as your Gamma, I think that having that horrible woman as a Luna can excuse anything you don’t know yet. After what we’ve heard about her in the last few days? No Luna, there is no need for you to be in any way sorry. Don’t put that on yourself when we all know where the blame lays”. Smiling gratefully at Sara, Genni reached across the table to clasp her hand. Molly put her arm around her daughter's shoulders “Well said love”. Nodding in agreement Martha asked if Molly and Sara were ready to see their offices, hearing this Sara jumped and was by the door raring to go before and of the other women had got off the sofa. Rolling her eyes and shaking her head Molly told her daughter that the Luna should leave any room that she was in, first. Blushing now Sara said sheepishly, “Sorry Luna, after you please” and Sara gestured to the door. Genni, grinning at her Gamma and best friend, curtsied quickly and preceded to leave the apartment followed by the others.
Genni made for the stairs so they could go downstairs which was where Jonas’s office was. “Excuse me, Luna. If you’d follow me please” and Martha turned left, Walking past Greg’s apartment door. When they were at the other end of the hallway from the Alpha apartment Martha stopped by three sets of doors. Opening the middle door Martha held it open so that Genni could go first followed by the others then Martha close the door. Genie stood there looking around at a beautifully decorated office that had similarities to Jonas‘s office but had just a little bit more of a feminine touch, there were curtains at the window and Voiles gently blowing as the breeze came through the open sash. The Wood on the shelving and desk was made of a type of rosewood instead of the darker Walnut that Jonas’s desk and shelving were made of. Behind the desk was a very comfortable-looking chair and just as Jonas‘s office had a small seating area so did Genni’s. Whereas Jonas’s sofas were hard leather, Genni’s sofas were of a soft fabric there were delicate lamps on the desk and placed around the seating area on side tables and there was a beautiful rug in the middle of the room. On either side of the office were doors. Martha open the right-hand doorway and proceeded into a smaller more functional office and declared that this office was that of the Luna’s Beta. Molly looked around and found that she was delighted with the room, it had plenty of light, a large window that she could open and again she had a small sitting area, not as big and comfortable as the Luna’s but comfy enough to hold an informal meeting. There was a comfortable-looking chair behind her smaller desk and two chairs sat in front, all of which were made of the same redwood. Walking across Genni’s office again Martha opened the left side door and they all walked in to find an almost identical office to that of the Beta’s. Martha once again stated that this office was the Gamma, leading the way back into Genni’s office Martha asked the Luna if she would like to sit on her sofas so following the Luna all four women sat. Martha went on to explain that even though they were connecting doors into the Luna office, these doors could be locked from Genni’s side if and when privacy was needed. There were of course doors that opened out into the hallway so that any people visiting the Beta and the Gamma did not have to traipse through Genni’s office and disturb her. “As with all new Luna your Grace, you will have to look at the staff that is currently working in the pack house, the childcare facility and events. I think it’s a good idea that both Beta and Gamma are involved in this as you will need to go through each person's file and see if you feel comfortable enough for them to remain in their positions or if you may want to change their position or you can hire new people. The She- wolves that currently work in the childcare facility were there when Luna Rosemary held the position of Luna but have only been working there for the past three years since the childcare facility opened, the same goes with the pack House staff, they were all employed under Luna Rosemary‘s watchful eye as well”. When Martha has finished explaining, Molly took it upon herself to give Genni a suggestion. “When you are discussing the staff I think it would be prudent to involve Rosemary. She does know all of these she-wolves and it may make your job that little bit easier”. Nodding, Genni thought this a splendid idea and looked toward her desk to see if there was a phone on it so she could contact Rosemary, Sara laughed at her and said “why don’t you just use your mind link, Duh! Martha gasped at what Sara had just said to her Luna “We are going to have to do something about the way you address your Grand Luna Missy” she said to Sara frustrated slightly. “I know you are friends and are close. But that must be kept behind closed doors as a private thing between yourselves as Gamma there is a certain etiquette that needs to be observed”. Genni made light of the situation saying that she was used to the way Sara spoke and found it funny but Molly agreed wholeheartedly with Martha “Your Grace” she addressed Genni “Martha is right, now that we hold official positions within your hierarchy we must set an example in the way we speak and interact with you, if only for the sake of the pack which will then emulate us”. Sighing, Genni accepted that there was a protocol to follow and as the Luna of the Luna shadow pack, she was determined to follow it to a tee. There was no way Genni could not bear to be an embarrassment to her mate or her mother!
Genni was sitting in her office perusing the file on the She-Wolves as she waited for her Mother in law to arrive. The soft knock at the door was enough to break her concentration. Asking her to enter Genni called the other ladies back in using the link. Both doors on either side of the office opened at the same time startling Rosemary. Saying a quick sorry to her Genni asked “Shall we move this to the sofa”? The other women nodded and waited for Genni to sit before sitting themselves.
“Thank you for coming so quickly Rose…..Mom” Genni changed quickly as she was given a stern frown and then a smile. “Better” Rosemary said, “I have to admit being called to the Luna’s office did take me back to the time I was in school” Everyone laughed at this but Genni gave a hurried apology as she had not meant to alarm Rosemary in any way.
Waving her hand to show there was no ill will Rosemary asked why she had been called.
