Would love some answer please…-(E)

*Genni POV*

I was back having a shower in the bedroom, and for once I had it to myself. Jonas had told me to go shower up here. He would shower using the showers in the locker room, and then go straight to his office as he had a few phone calls to make. I was told to come down after my shower, so I decided to take my time. Scrubbing my hair and using my favourite body wash that smelt of jasmine.

After a while, I decided that showering alone was not all it was cracked up to be. I missed Jonas. Shaking my head, I still found it hard to believe that a few weeks ago I thought I didn't have a wolf. And now look at me. Grand Luna, of all things. I felt a pang of sadness when I thought of Sara, who would have had a right laugh when she found who I was. I made my mind up to phone her once I got out of the shower. With that in mind, I finished washing my hair, got out and dried myself in a large fluffy white towel. I picked up my phone and dialled the familiar number, smiling as I heard the click of connection, then the scream of Sara.

*Jonas POV*

We had a great run with our wolves. Jax was so proud to show Sapphire the wolf side of the pack lands. We ran for around an hour, Sapphire was in her element.

When Gregory had seen Sapphire, he had lowered his front paws in a sort of bow. He didn’t comment on the size of my wolf, but I could hear in his mind that he was shocked to see Sapphire standing nearly as tall as the Alpha. Sapphire had turned to look at him as he said it, and I had to remind my Beta that Sapphire could hear everything. Nodding his big shaggy head at me he walked over to Sapphire somewhat tentatively

Sapphire was larger than Gregory, and he was not a small wolf by any means. Letting the Alpha go in front of him, Seb looked all around and was on high alert. I had not told Genni, but while the mage was in the pack house, I had instructed Gregory to stay by her side if I, myself, could not be with her.

I didn’t say this to Genni, knowing that she would refuse, and I saw little point in creating an argument, so I told Gregory last night when Genni was making food for them. The good thing about it is that as Gregory was my Beta, he would naturally spend a lot of time with me. And at the moment, wherever I was, you would find Genni, as I hated to be away from her. I regretted letting Genni shower by herself. I was turning into a proper sap. I grinned at that, thinking I didn't care one bit!

*Genni POV*

I hung up the phone after twenty minutes of none stop-gabbing with my best friend. I missed her so much, plus her parents. They had always been such a huge part of my life. I decided to ask Jonas if Sara could come and visit. Settling the thought in my mind, I finished drying my hair, dressed quickly in a casual pair of slacks and a loose top, and made my way down to the office.

It took me a while to get there, even though it was only two floors down. The pack house was quite full at the moment, as most of the pack had finished breakfast and were on their way to work.

Every time I saw a pack member, they would stop me and introduce themselves to me. They all seemed thrilled to be speaking with me, and I had learnt from my father that keeping my pack happy and healthy was important. When I eventually got to the office door, I knocked, waited, and then heard Jonas telling me to come in.

Jonas looked up from his desk and raised his finger to signal he was still speaking on the phone. From what I could hear, Jonas was talking to a neighbouring Alpha. I just smiled at him and went to sit on the comfy sofa he had in his office. When Jonas had finished the call, he motioned for me to come to him, and when I was close enough, pulled me onto his lap.

as I snuggled in for a hug I heard Jonas tell me that I didn't need to knock on the door. I looked at him with a puzzled look on my face ''In my old pack, all Alpha business is private. If anyone entered my Dad's office without knocking first he would have been livid. Including my mom, I mean, Sylvia''. Unexpected tears clung to my lower lashes, and I had to swallow before carrying on.

''I have no secrets from you little wolf, and you are my equal in this pack. That gives you every right to enter my office whenever you want to'' He finished this sentence with a soft kiss on my lips. I closed my eyes and savoured it. I had not been away from him long. But it had been too long. I started to smile through the kiss and Jonas asked why, I didn't respond as I wanted more from him. But the big bad Alpha wanted to know what I had found funny in his kiss.

*Jonas POV*

“What’s so funny, little wolf?” he asked as she continued to smile at herself, and I started getting frustrated. When she saw Jax pushing forward, she scolded him for trying to take control, and I could feel the mighty Jax lowering his head at the telling off. “No need to fret about it Jonas, I was merely smiling at the comments the pack members I met on my way down to you are saying”.

I looked at her sternly and said “You could hear the pack member's thoughts without asking permission from them, again”? She nodded her head slightly and said in a low quiet voice, “I’m so sorry Jonas, I met them and they all wanted to have a quick chat, you know, introduce themselves, tell me where they were within the pack structure. I loved it, everyone I’ve met so far has been so friendly and open to me, it's amazing”.

I could see how amazed she was, and I felt suddenly proud of my pack and the way they had accepted my mate without question.

“By the time I got to the office, I heard them all chatting about me, and the things they were saying were so lovely.” Genni looked at me with innocent eyes. I knew she hadn’t done it on purpose, but I needed to speak with her about it.

''Little wolf, your ability is amazing. It truly is a gift, but you have to understand why Gregory and myself were a little taken back when you did it before the run earlier. As this is the pack of the Grand Alpha, we are held to a different standard than regular wolves. In my pack, we have always had the rule in place that would protect one wolf from another. You simply can't mind link with a wolf unless it had an understanding with the said wolf. We have always asked for permission. If it is not given, you cannot link. Do you understand what I'm saying little wolf''?

Thankfully, Genni nodded her head. I could tell she understood me, but she looked like she had screwed up, and my heart went out to her.

I didn’t know how Genni could do it, but I knew a mage who might. “I think it’s time to have a proper talk with Hilda. We need some answers, and I have a feeling she knows a lot more about you than she’s saying”. Genni agreed with me. ''If I'm doing something that could negatively affect the pack, it needs to be sorted out. I would not now or ever do anything to this pack…my pack that could potentially harm. Do you know where Hilda is? I haven’t seen her since supper, last night”.

Genni looked at me enquiringly, just as I was about to say I hadn’t seen her either, there was a knock on my office door. “Come in Greg” I shouted as I expected him to knock, but there was no response, frowning slightly Genni got up and walked over to the door to open it, saying she may have locked it when she came in.

The door wasn’t locked, and it wasn’t Greg standing there. It was Hilda ''You wanted to see me your grace'', and she bowed her head in respect. Turning around to look at me, Genni could see the same look of shock on my face that hers held.

“Yes Hilda, we did, please come in and sit down.” Genni gestured to the sofas, and they both sat whilst I left my desk so I could join them. Getting straight to the point, I said “I’ve asked the others to be here too. I think it’s important that all the people that already know about this are here, so we can all be on the same page”. Genni nodded in agreement, and I felt a moment of relief. I didn't want to seem overbearing. It wasn’t long before my parents and Gregory arrived. Mom went straight to Genni and hugged her, kissing her lightly on the cheek. Cupping Genni’s face gently, Mom asked if everything was okay. Smiling at my mother, Genni said ''yes''. When mom was satisfied Genni wasn’t upset in any way, she let my dad embrace Genni. Coming forward, Phil put his arm around Genni’s shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Are you okay Genevieve?” Genni gave his cheek a quick peck. “What was that for?” said my dad, looking a little surprised.

“It’s just a thank you, you and Rosemary have shown me nothing but love from the moment I arrived, and I am so grateful to you both.” Genni held her hand out for my mom to hold, as she still had Dad's arm around her.

“Nonsense, you are our daughter now, we both adore you” giving her shoulder another gentle squeeze to show he agrees with Mom.

*Genni POV*

Phil let me go and went to sit down next to Gregory, who had already sat. “UMM, I’m here too, you know?” Jonas said to his parents, "I could see he was feeling a little left out after I had all the attention from his mom and dad". Waving away his statement, Rosemary said “Yes, yes dear, we know you’re here too, good morning”.

Jonas was sulking a little at the nonchalant attitude of his parents towards him. I just had to look at him and I could feel his mood lighten. Holding out his hand for me to grasp it, he pulled me down with him on one of the chairs. When they were all seated, Hilda spoke

“You want to know how you can hear and respond to your pack, Your Grace?”.
