Jonas looked at his parents and then looked back at his mate and said “say that again”.
I smiled at all the people there.
These people were my family now, and they had every right to hear what Sapphire and myself had heard. However, this would take a long time to explain, and I was not all that sure they would believe me. So I asked them, “You all, and my brother Lucas, are the most important people in my life. I do not want to keep any secrets from you, and I believe this is too important to keep to ourselves.”
I stood up and walked over to the fireplace, pondering my next action.
“I would like to ask you all something. I have something I need to show you, but I need you all to trust me. Do you think you can do that?”
Looking around, I saw only love shining out of all the faces looking at me now, and I still couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have found Jonas and his family.
Rosemary stood up and walked over to me, “my dear, I know we have only known you a short time, but please believe me when I say we could not love you more than if you were our own child”.
I grasped Rosemary’s hand and brought it to my lips, and gently kissed the back of it. I smiled softly at her for a second, then I asked the others to stand up and join us. Jonas rushed over to my side and asked what I was going to do.
Cupping his cheek with my hand, I brought his face to mine so I could kiss him. It was a sweet gentle kiss that held the promise of more.
“I will show you all that happened to me. I need you all to link hands and close your eyes, and only listen to the sound of my voice. Jonas! Tell Jax to pipe down!”.
Jonas was startled by this, how did his mate know that Jax was kicking off about now knowing what was to come? Perplexed, he told Jax too can it and closed his eyes.
The next thing they all heard was my voice inside their heads, but yet it was more than just my voice. They could all now see the images I was sending them. My voice was loud and clear when I said “what I am going to show you now is a conversation sapphire and I had with our real mother a short time ago. Please try to keep an open mind”.
I asked Sapphire if she was ready, and at her nod we started to show them. When we had shown everyone, I asked them to open their eyes, but remain to hold each other’s hands. When everyone did as they were bid, I could see clearly on each face they believed what they had just seen.
Rosemary was crying, the tears streaming down her face, but she was smiling. Phil and Daniel also had tears in their eyes but seemed to be doing a better job controlling their tears. Jonas, on the other hand, looked thunderstruck, and I had a moment of genuine fear before he looked at me.
He still had a shocked look on his face, but I was looking into his eyes. I saw Jax staring at me for a brief moment before Jonas was back in control.
“I will follow you anywhere little wolf,” he said and kissed me softly. I knew he would have questions and many of them, but that could wait for now.
“You are my family, and I love you all. I hope you understand the importance of what you have just seen and the need to get the council of elders here as quickly as possible”. Looking around at my beloved family, clasping each other’s hands, Rosemary started to say a prayer,
“Moon Goddess, we give our thanks this day for the gift you have bestowed upon us. To send your own child to save our entire species and prevent war is a huge sacrifice, and I will thank you every day. We pray now goddess in grateful appreciation for choosing our son to be your daughter's mate and for allowing us to be her family. We will love her as our own, we will protect her and fight by her side when it is needed. We swear this to you here and now. Blessed be!
Everyone repeated this, and then they all let go of each other’s hands. Rosemary hugged me tightly and whispered in her ear, “we are so honoured with your presence, your grace”.
Rosemary pulled back a bit so she could look into the face of this miracle. “I can't believe we get to call you ours,” she said with a sigh.
''I think I may have something to say about that mom, this wonderful woman is mine”! said, Jonas. They all laughed at this, and it broke the spell they seemed under.
''In all seriousness”, I said, ''it is only the people in this room who know who I am, to the rest of the pack I am just Luna”.
“I think you’ll find that is Grand Luna,” said Jonas pompously. I wrapped my arms as far as they could get around him and asked if we could go for a walk, as I had seen nothing of the pack house nor the lands it sat on.
Realising this, Jonas said we could. Before we left, Alpha Daniel walked over to them both, “I will be leaving shortly, but I will return when the meeting is called. I know you can’t show them everything we have seen here today. I just hope that as they were the ones to give you to me, they accept what they are told and call a clave meeting between all of our hybrids. I have left Lucas in charge of the pack in my absence, and I really need to get back. I just need to make sure you're okay after passing out for as long as you did.
Although Alpha Daniel didn’t expect it, I could see the thrilled expression on his face as I pulled him into a hug.
“Dad, I fainted as the gifts my mother gave me were a shock to my system, nothing more than that. But I love that you care” and I kissed him on the cheek.
Once again with tears in his eyes, he said “of course, I care, Lucas does too. I’m your father, I always have been and I hope I always will be. Don’t be a stranger, okay”. Nodding, I hugged him again, and Jonas held out his hand. They said their goodbyes, the Jonas and I left for our walk.
“What do you want to see a first little wolf?” Jonas asked. “Inside or outside” and he made a small bow. I shoved him and ran outside laughing, “okay then, outside it is” laughing as well Jonas ran after me. Meanwhile, Phil and Rosemary were sitting together in the lounge and softly discussing what had just happened.
“Can you believe it, my love?” said Rosemary softly. All Phil could do was shake his head. Putting his arm around his mate he said “ I knew something like this would eventually happen. The vampires have already started to become a problem for a few packs in the southern states. I just never expected it to not only be in my lifetime but involve my son”.
Rosemary gave a small shudder. I know we have been blessed by having Genevieve as part of our family. I hope the goddess protects them both” when the time comes!
Nodding in agreement, Phil was about to say something when they heard Genevieve and Jonas play about in the entrance hall, laughing. It was a beautiful sound. One they both hoped to hear often. And maybe even children’s voices would bless their families one day. “You never know”, said Phil, “stranger things have happened”.
The couple stared at each other for a moment, and then burst out laughing
