I woke up slowly, and when I finally opened my eyes, I was looking straight into the eyes of the man I loved. Jonas smiled down at me and gently laid a kiss on my lips. "I thought I had lost you again," he said, kissing me again.
"I've been trying for ages to wake you up little wolf, are you okay? Any after-effects of the fainting spell you had?". Jonas was looking at me with worry etched over his face, but something else was showing there. I couldn't place the look so pushed at his chest.
"Let me up sweetheart," I said quietly to Jonas, he moved aside and asked where I was going.
"To the bathroom, if the Grand Alpha doesn't mind," I said, grinning. I heard Jonas growl as I closed the door to the bathroom. smiling to myself, I did my business and then stood in front of a huge mirror that covered the wall where the basins were. I didn't like mirrors, they show the truth whether you like it or not. But standing at the basins now, I took a good look at myself and gasped when I saw my reflection.
Even though I had seen Sapphire in the trance shift and noticed her wolf was no longer silver, but was a bright white colour, with two streaks of silver coming from her ears and running parallel down her back, then joining up before her tail, which was a solid silver colour. She was just gorgeous. What I hadn't realised was that my own hair would mirror my wolf. The Genni staring back at me now had long white hair that fell in gentle waves around my shoulders and halfway down my back. What was remarkable about my hair was the two streaks of silver. They started at the top of my head, right where a parting might be, and fell on either side, so they were framing my face and continued the length of her hair. But the hair was not the most astonishing thing. My eyes had turned from their mixed green and blue colour, which often looked like muddy water, to a crystal clear blue. The eyes staring back at me now were going to take a bit of getting used to.
I wondered if my eyes were this colour after the second part of the ceremony. They would explain why all the pack members were staring at me. I was confused why no one had told me this had happened, but to be fair, the ceremony and what followed had been so busy I guess no one had the time to tell me.
So. Here I was, standing in front of the mirror, looking at the stunning woman in front of me and wondering how I was going to break the news to Jonas about my true identity. I was beginning to stress, worrying about telling Jonas everything, but that also meant I had to tell the people closest to me.
There was a soft knock on the door, and I heard Jonas telling me that Alpha Daniel was still there. He wanted to talk to me as soon as possible, for he had something important to tell me.
I pulled herself together, finished in the bathroom, and opened the door. Jonas stood outside it, acting as if he was my bodyguard. This image made me smile widely, and Jonas wanted to know what was so funny.
"Wouldn't you like to know, nosey?" I called as I walked into a huge closet that finally held all my clothes and accessories shipped to the pack house at the same time Alpha Daniel arrived for the ceremony.
Jonas didn't follow me into the closet, and I felt a stab of disappointment. shaking myself out of the doldrums. I chose the clothes I wanted to wear and emerged from the closet a few minutes later, dressed in a beautiful blue dress and flat shoes. I looked around the bedroom, but couldn't see Jonas. I couldn't hear the shower running in the ensuite, and he wasn't in his closet either. A little perplexed at this and frowning, I jumped when I heard the bedroom door open and Jonas says loudly, "Are you ready to meet up with Alpha Daniel, little wolf?"
I walked out of his closet and said, " raring to go my love". Jonas offered me his hand, and I gladly grabbed hold of it. Together, we left the bedroom and walked to the lounge area where Alpha Daniel was waiting.
When we entered the lounge, Alpha Daniel sprung to his feet and rushed over to me, stopping dead in his tracks as he looked at his daughter. Speechless for a moment, Alpha Daniel just stood there, not sure what to do apart from kneeling in front of this woman and bowing his head. He knew who he was looking at, as he had a few of his own suspicions over the years. Instead of being shocked at Alpha Daniel's behaviour, I merely asked him to raise and walk with me over to the large sofa.
Alpha Daniel sat on the sofa opposite as he needed to face me when he told all of us what had happened. Jonas walked over to me and sat beside me and waited, even though Jonas had no idea what it was about.
I asked where Rosemary and Phil were and was told they were somewhere in the pack house waiting for a chance to see her. Looking at Jonas, I simply said "please call them here, as I would like to speak to you when Alpha Daniel has finished telling me what he wants me to know".
. Jonas' mind linked to his father and asked him to get to the lounge and bring Rosemary with him. When my in-laws arrived, I gestured to Alpha Daniel to start talking
"As you know, Genevieve did not get her wolf on her birthday, and was almost pushed out of the pack by the Luna." Alpha Daniel said this with a catch in his throat, but he continued talking. "When you left my pack and joined the luna shadow pack as Jonas's fated mate, I began to ask questions. What I found out was so shocking that I refused to believe it, but as more truth emerged, I had to take action and banish my mate. As Alpha Daniel said it, I let out an audible gasp.
" Banished? Really? Was what she did so bad?" I asked.
"If I may, I will start at the beginning, and you will then understand everything." Alpha Daniel looked at the others expectantly. Jonas looked at the beautiful woman he got to call mate, and raised his eyebrows at her. "Let him talk" was my response, but I didn't say this out loud, and Jonas, who had not been expecting it, jumped ever so slightly. With a big grin on his face, he pulled me closer to him and waited for Alpha Daniel to start.
Alpha Daniel was looking rather apprehensive, and before he started his story, he begged forgiveness over what they were about to hear about him and the young man he was. He explained that although the story was pertinent to me, it would begin when he was a young wolf.
