Chapter 9 AN OFFER WORSE THAN EXILE
Celestia's pov
About 10 minutes later we had been fished out of the pit and I took him to my personal tent. It seemed like he had intentionally hidden his alpha and pack scent. I guess he didn't come here without any ounce of fear as he seemed to have been almost bluffing earlier.
I mean who would actually think he was being serious?
He entered the tent following behind me and his eyes raked around disgust rising up to the surface of his expression.
"Is this where you really sleep at night?" He said it with such genuine shock that I almost had to look back and check if he had been replaced by someone else. How did you think that rogues live? In fact, things were much better now that I had been dealing with those kind alphas and lunas.
I had to maintain the relationship with them which was the only reason why I was even speaking to him right now. If it wasn't for that then I would have not been wasting my breath on him at all.
"I don't want you to be here for long so why don't we just discuss what you came here for and get it over with as soon as possible?"
I said settling down to sit he took his precious time with that before he finally sat down as well facing me.
"Tell me the truth Celestia, how has it been all these years? I'm sure that you never thought that you would ever live like this did you?"
I felt a vain pulse in my forehead and his face looked so punchable at the moment it took everything inside of me not to just incline myself to what my body was telling me to do.
"You're right Raphael I never thought that I would ever live like this but I don't think you came here because you suddenly had a feeling of guilt over what you did to me in the past. If I'm right it has something to do with that mistress of yours, doesn't it?"
For the first time, his almost bored expression flashed with something close to anger.
"Don't speak of Media that way she is now my proper mate and Luna so you refer to her with respect,"
A dry laugh left my lips, he had been completely unbothered by all the insensitive things he had seen up to this moment but I made a reference to that woman and immediately he was all up in arms ready to defend her fragile 'honor'.
"But I'm right, am I not? You're here because of her…"
He moved his fingers over to his thighs and pressed hard on them as if he was trying to shift the bones underneath his grasp.
"This is about Jason,"
Hearing the fake name that my son was being called by I felt my entire body freeze up immediately.
"What happened to my son?"
I thought he would deny that fact but while he did not agree he didn't try to completely twist my words and claim the Media was the mother just like he did in the past.
"I can't share any of the details with you right now but if you decide to apologize to the media then I will let you return to Brazen Pack,"
I tried to speak but it was as if my voice had been stolen away by the shock.
"You want me to do what?"
He repeated what he had said earlier and continued; "If you agree to what I just said then I will forgive what you did in the past and leave it there then you will also be able to spend supervised time with Jason,"
By the standards of my former mates, this offer was too good to be true and I could not see any benefits it could bring to his woman so I looked at him with suspicion coating my eyes.
"I don't think you are telling me everything yet, what's the catch to all of this? Other than the apology there should be something else you would want to completely waive off the remaining 5 years I'm supposed to stay away from brazen pack,"
He rubbed his hands tightly together.
"There is no catch, but when you get there you are not allowed to tell Jason that you are his mother that was and will always be Media,"
"Then what will I do to him instead?" I countered back.
"You will be his nanny,"
There was a long and heavy silence that stretched into an awkward position.
"Are you actually being serious right now?"
Before he could answer and spew out more of his nonsense I pointed outside.
"Get out of my sight, before I do something that you will definitely regret. You came all the way here to tell me to be a servant. Not even to hand my son back to me,"
He slowly but steadily got up.
"Celestia I understand you still had your pride and everything, but what use is your pride right right now to you?"
He made a semicircular gesture with his hand spinning it around the tents.
"This entire place looks like a glorified pig dine, you know that not even the most low-ranked servants in Brazen Park have a living quarter half as terrible as this. The position of a servant would be 100 times better than all of this torture you are putting yourself through not only will you be living a much more comfortable life but you will be able to see Jason and you can return to being a pack wolf from every angle I look at this you are the one benefiting the most so I don't know what is your problem," just when I thought that he had run out of audacity he would come up with more.
"My problem?" I said stomping towards him and stabbing a finger towards my chest.
"You still don't get it do you? After everything you have put me through you still don't think that you have done anything wrong. Don't worry I promise that one day you will understand but for now get out of my sight,"
