Chapter 8 THE PIT OF REGRET
Celestia's pov
That was it, I jumped into the pit, "Say that again Raphael I dare you!" I grabbed the collar of a shirt, "I'm the one who needs to regret what I did? Not you and that accomplice who stole my child from me? I'm the one who should be regretful? Maybe you're right I do regret something I regret the day I met you I curse it with all of my heart because you are a vile despicable person, Raphael,"
The unbothered look in his eyes faltered for a second but hardened in the next.
"You heard me earlier, I'm not going to tell you what I came here for unless we find a more civilized place to have that discussion. I'm sure your time has a rude hasn't completely wiped away every manner of courtesy in you,"
He was so unruffled while faced directly with the pain that dripped from my eyes.
Just like how he had been all those years back.
Then why was I the one blowing up and getting emotional? Why was I the one spreading out all my feelings when he would really look at me with this mixture of disgust and distance?
I decided not to make a fool of myself anymore and stepped back smoothing out my expression into a cold blank stare.
That was right.
I didn't have to explain to him how he made me feel.
How betrayal had gnawed at my heart.
One day I will return to Brazen Pack, and I will allow experiences to teach him just how much it hurts all those years back what he put me through the humiliation I had to endure. The heartbreak from being rejected and losing my pup.
I would make sure he experienced a suffering that rivaled it enough to quench the fire in my heart.
But for now, there was no need to waste saliva and strength on him.
"Not interested in hearing anything that you have to say to me, leave this place I never return I don't ever want to see your face again for any reason unless I make that choice myself,"
"Celestia, listen to me…" he tried to touch me by the side of my arm and I slapped his fingers away as if he was infected with a highly contagious disease.
"Don't touch me you lost the right to touch me a very long time ago dare to do that now and I'll make sure that you don't leave this place with those fingers intact I promise you that,"
His hand hung awkwardly in the air for a while then he dropped it back to his side.
"If you were going to be so unreasonable then I would have prepared myself better but I had no idea you were going to act this way Anyway you will have to listen to me whether you want to or not,"
"Or what? In case you have missed it news flash you are not in the Brazen pack right now. It doesn't matter if you are an Alpha with the warriors behind me you are not leaving this place unscathed and -"
"I know about your arrangement with some neighboring alphas and lunas,"
That simple statement almost sent me to the ground beneath my feet crumbling but I stood firmly and tried to remain unmoved.
"I don't know what you're talking about-"
He stepped forward.
"Don't even waste your breath denying it, someone came to me personally while I was looking for you and reported everything along with the evidence of your exchange I have it all at Brazen pack,"
All the wheels in my head burst into full speed.
I had been betrayed, who was the rat?
I was disappointed but not shocked, after all the betrayal that I had suffered in my life it would be strange if being stabbed in the back was something that shook me.
There were actually a lot of important herbs and fruits that only grew in the rogue territory, this was what I exchanged when dealing with the alphas and lunas, but some of them had gotten greedy recently demanding more and more. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them went back to my former meeting to tell him of my dealings.
"Let's see that what you are even seeing is the truth, so what? Who cares if you have all the information that you claim to? What difference does it make to me and why should I have to listen to you?"
He shook his head.
"Is it really that hard for you to still read between the lines Celestia? Then maybe I'll spell it out for you a little bit. How do you think the council of the moon is going to react if they find out about your little exchanges?"
I felt a lump instantly form in my throat the council of the Moon was a gathering of alpha's and lunar's many of them keeping to the strict rules of never interacting with rogues for any reasons they were rejected in every sense of the word and it was already an unwritten rule that once they were no longer a part of a pack they were no better than wild and animals that were meant to be put down the moments they became problematic.
"So this is why you came all the way here?" I said with a bitter sneer, "You saw that I had a little bit of happiness and you wanted to immediately take it away didn't you? It wasn't enough that you took Ash away from me all those years back now even though you want to have it too?"
He ran his fingers through his hair. So much was happening in such a short time I was trying to wrap my head around it all
"Why would I want this beautiful pseudo 'pack' but now that I have your attention will you finally speak to me outside of this adorable hole or will I have to leave with the information I have and do whatever I please with it?
