Chapter 24 Captain Bryan's Visit
Dr Moore looked slightly surprised when Gerald suddenly slammed his fist on the table.
Gerald smiled wryly and said, "Sorry, Doctor Moore. Did I startle you?"
"A little! What's going on, Alpha Gerald? Is there something you remember that caused your wife to lose her memory?" asked Doctor Moore again.
Gerald nodded, "I think... I know the cause, Doc! So..."
Gerald recounted the story of what happened six years ago when his pack was attacked and Jennifer disappeared, who at that time may have been pregnant with his pups.
However, Gerald was not sure what actually happened at that time because he and his men lost track of his wife, Jenny.
After sharing his sad story, Gerald asked again, “Will her memory return, Doctor?”
“It’s possible, gradually, provided there are some supporting factors!”
“Examples?” Gerald asked curiously.
“In this case, surgery is not necessary, but the right therapy will be very helpful, such as Psychotherapy can be very helpful, talk therapy, like deep talk, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and therapy to gradually restore her memory. There are also other supporting factors, such as a safe environment, reduced stress, and emotional support from her family. With all that, Mrs. Jenny’s memory could potentially return fully,” Dr. Moore explained again.
“How long might it take for her memory to return, Doctor?” Gerald asked again.
“Well… that’s impossible to predict! It could be a matter of days, months, or even years!” Dr. Moore replied.
Gerald looked dejected, and Dr Moore looked concerned and offered his support.
"As long as you do what I said wholeheartedly, I am sure Mrs Jenny's memory will gradually return! Do your best, Alpha Gerald!" Dr Moore patted Alpha Gerald on the shoulder again.
"Thank you for your support, Doctor!" Gerald smiled resignedly.
"You're welcome..."
"Is there anything else you want to tell me, Doctor? About my wife, Jenny or my son Alex?" Gerald asked as he was about to stand up.
"I don't think so! I've said everything! Oh, yes, about Alex, after he regains consciousness, I will check on him, and if Alex's condition allows it, you can take him home. And continue Alex's treatment at home! I will visit occasionally to check on his condition!" exclaimed Doctor Moore again.
"Okay! Well then, I think I have to go."
"Please, Alpha Gerald!"
After saying goodbye, Gerald left Doctor Moore's room.
'I think I need some coffee! Oh, my goodness! I forgot! I have an appointment to meet someone at the cafe! I'd better go down now!' Gerald went down in the lift.
On the ground floor, Gerald saw a man he knew, a man in casual clothes but still wearing his badge, carrying a bouquet of roses and a basket of fruit.
"What is that policeman doing here? Is he visiting Jennifer? Bringing flowers? Come on!" said Gerald irritably.
Gerald followed the man from behind, who turned out to be Captain Bryan.
While following Captain Bryan, Gerald's mobile phone rang.
Gerald looked at his phone, "Damn! I forgot my appointment!"
Gerald picked up his phone and answered, “Hello? Yes, the meeting is cancelled! Come to the hospital, I’ll wait for you!”
Gerald was about to turn around, but he had lost track of Captain Bryan.
“Where did that person go? He disappeared so quickly? This can’t be left unchecked! I have to catch up on my son’s room!” Gerald ran towards the lift.
When he arrived at the lift, all the lifts were closed, so Gerald finally decided to use the stairs.
Gerald was lucky that the hospital only had about 11 floors, so it was easy for Gerald to reach the floor, even using the stairs.
When he arrived, he saw a commotion in front of his son's room door.
Gerald smiled a little when he saw his men standing their ground and preventing Captain Bryan Smith from entering as he had ordered.
Gerald also saw Jennifer coming out of Alex's room shortly afterwards and was surprised to see Captain Bryan being held back from entering.
"Ah, Jennifer, thank goodness you're here. Please tell this person to let me in! I want to see how Alex is! I'm sorry, I only found out it was already very late when I got home! Is Alex alright?" asked Captain Bryan with concern.
"Ah, yes, the doctor said he's fine, but he hasn't regained consciousness yet. Hey, what's going on here? Why are you detaining him? Let him in! He's my friend!" Jennifer tried to help Captain Bryan so he could go in to see his son.
"Sorry, ma'am, but Mr. Williams ordered us not to let anyone into this room, including Captain Bryan Smith. Without Mr. Gerald Williams' permission, we can't let him in!" said one of the guards.
Jennifer growled in annoyance and took out her phone to call Gerald.
Gerald smiled and casually answered his ringing phone. It was Jennifer calling. "Yes, dear? What's wrong? Do you miss me?"
Jennifer became even more annoyed because she had put her phone on speaker, and everyone could hear Gerald's words.
They could only smile, but not Captain Bryan. Captain Bryan's face turned sour.
"What the hell are you doing? Tell your men quickly! Captain Bryan wants to visit Alex, but they're holding him back!" Jennifer said angrily, finally speaking with the phone to her ear. She didn't want to be embarrassed if Gerald said romantic things like he had before.
"Ahem! I know!" Gerald exclaimed, smiling smugly at Jennifer's slightly embarrassed expression.
"What do you mean? Gerald... if you don't come here quickly or tell your men... then I will..." Jennifer threatened angrily.
"I'm already here!" Gerald replied.
Jennifer turned to look for Gerald and saw him waving his hand and saying, "Hi, sweetheart!"
"You...!" Jennifer angrily turned off her phone.
Gerald arrived with his hands in his trouser pockets, "What's all the commotion here? Huh?"
"Sir! Excuse me, Sir, Mr. Smith tried to break in! As per your orders, we cannot allow anyone to enter except you and Mr. John," they said, bowing respectfully.
"Good work! Remind me to give you a bonus!
"
" Thank you, Mr Williams!" replied Gerald's guards happily.
Gerald turned lazily towards Captain Bryan as if surprised.
"Ah... so it's you, Captain Bryan Smith? How are you? Do you want to visit my injured son at your house, the one without supervision, huh?" Gerald sneered.
"Forgive my negligence, Mr Williams. I should have tightened security there! That's why I wanted to visit Alex to see how he was doing," Captain Bryan exclaimed, his face sour again.
"Gerald, it's not Captain Bryan's fault... he..." Jennifer, who saw the current situation, tried to lighten the mood.
Gerald pulled Jennifer by the waist, and Jennifer, who was very embarrassed, tried to break free.
Gerald tightened his embrace and whispered. "I haven't punished you for speaking out of turn earlier, and now you're acting up by calling your lover, who hurt my son, by his first name? Is it because of him that you don't want to be with me?"
"Gerald, what are you doing? We’re just friends! Nothing more,” Jennifer said softly.
“Good, then! If not, I could cut him to pieces! Now, shut up!” Gerald threatened slightly.
Jennifer froze in fear and remained silent, dared not move.
“Good girl!”
Cup!
Gerald kissed her cheek. Jennifer glared, but Gerald smiled again and turned to Captain Bryan.
“Forgive us! She always gets angry if I forget to kiss her goodbye!” Gerald smiled meaningfully.
Jennifer's face turned red with embarrassment, and she could only remain silent.
"Ugh! How childish!" Captain Bryan Smith said irritably.
"Sorry... what did you say just now?" Gerald asked again.
"I said…”
