Chapter 18 Gerald's Anger Towards Jennifer
Once again, Gerald sharpened his sense of smell, as if inhaling air through his nose.
"This isn't human blood! Is this werewolf blood? What do they want? But why did they give up this house? Do they know that Jennifer is my wife and Alex is my pup? It's impossible!"
"Jenny!!" Gerald shouted and approached Jennyfer, who looked frightened and was crying.
Jennifer hugged Martha, who was in the corner of the room.
Jennifer continued to cry, her body shaking with sobs, "Hik... hik hik... I shouldn't have left Alex alone with you, Martha! Martha, wake up! What happened?"
Martha tried to get up with what little strength she had left, but fell back into Jennifer’s arms. When she saw Gerald, he shook his head.
“Alpha, there were so many attacking us… I… I… Uhuk! Uhuk!” Martha stammered and coughed.
"Alpha? Gerald?" Jennifer looked at Gerald and Martha alternately with confusion.
'Do they know each other? But isn't Martha Captain Bryan's hired servant?'
"Enough! Stop talking, just tell me where my son, Alex, is?" Gerald exclaimed, growing more worried.
"Sorry, Mr Williams... Your son... is upstairs! He... he..." Before Martha could finish explaining, a panicked Jennifer lifted Martha's body and placed her on the back of a chair before running upstairs.
"Alex!! Oh, no, my son! I'll never forgive myself if... something happens to my son!"
Gerald was about to follow Jennifer, but then Martha explained, “Your Pups… they’re strong… Alpha! They helped me attack some people and then ran upstairs to hide! They were about to chase them, but they heard your car… they disappeared! Luckily, you came just in time!” Martha then looked exhausted.
After finishing her sentence, Martha fainted!
"Martha?" Alpha? What..." John arrived, confused.
"Take care of her, Beta John! I need her statement, what really happened here. And take our injured people to headquarters so they can be treated!" Gerald exclaimed without looking up and stood up.
"Yes, Alpha!" Beta John nodded respectfully.
Alpha Gerak turned to John with a flash in his eyes, his anger beginning to boil over.
"Find out who dared to mess with me! And find out the movements of the other packs lately, especially those who dislike me! They are not humans! But the pack of wolves that attacked here earlier! So they already know the whereabouts of Jenny and my pups!" Gerald gritted his teeth, his jaw tightening.
As quick as lightning, Gerald followed Jennifer upstairs.
Jennifer knocked on her bedroom door, "Alex? Alex? Are you in there, son? Are you okay? It's Mommy! Open the door!"
Not long after, Gerald appeared.
"Is Alex inside?" Gerald asked Jennifer, who continued to cry while knocking on the door.
"I-I don't know! There's no sound from inside!" exclaimed Jennifer, turning to Gerald.
"Step back and move away a little then! Let me break down the door!" ordered Gerald.
Jennifer could only nod slowly.
"CRACK!!"
With one kick, Gerald destroyed Jennifer's door.
Jennifer gaped as the door shattered into pieces and turned to Gerald.
"What are you waiting for? Look for Alex!" Gerald understood Jennifer's confusion and tried to snap her out of it.
"Oh, yes... Alex!! Alex!! Where are you, son?" Jennifer looked around the bathroom.
Gerald sharpened his sense of smell again.
“He’s in the wardrobe!” Gerald shouted.
Jennifer looked at Gerald, “How… Ah, never mind!”
Jennifer quickly opened the wardrobe, and sure enough, Alex was there with blood-stained hands and his body covered in blood splatters.
“ALEX!!”
Alex slowly opened his eyes as Jennifer hugged him.
"Mummy... Daddy? You're finally here...!"
Alex collapsed after uttering those words.
Alex fainted.
"No! No!! Alex! Don't fall asleep, son! Wake up!"
Gerald stared at Alex, who was covered in blood.
'Is he hurt? That doesn't look like his blood! So did he attack them? Martha said...'
Jennifer tried to carry Alex but then fell, snapping Gerald out of his reverie.
"We...we have to go to the hospital!!" Jennifer tried again, but her body, still in shock, was too weak.
"Let me carry him!"
Gerald quickly picked Alex up and held him tightly.
"Hang in there, son! You're great! You are a descendant of Alpha! You won't be destroyed that easily! My blood flows in your body! So you can definitely survive!" Gerald kept muttering, staring at his newly found son.
Jennifer, who was too focused on thinking about Alex, did not respond to Gerald's words.
"John!! To the hospital!" Gerald shouted.
"Yes, Alpha!"
John had already called some of his men and asked for help to carry the injured, while Gerald broke down Jennifer's door upstairs.
Gerald asked Jennifer to go in first, and then he followed, placing Alex in Jennifer’s lap. Jennifer kept crying; her tears wouldn’t stop.
"Alex! I'm sorry! Mommy couldn't protect you! If... if something happened to you... I... I..." Jennifer bowed her head, unable to finish her sentence.
"He'll be fine! He's not hurt! It looks like he's just in shock!" Gerald said again.
"What do you mean? How do you know? You're not a doctor!" Jennifer asked.
Gerald, impatient, turned his face away in annoyance.
"Because he's my son!" Gerald said softly.
"What did you say? Are you talking to me?" Jennifer asked.
"Huh! You're just making things difficult! Don't you really remember anything, Jenny? You're my wife! Alex is our son! If you had listened to me and trusted me, this wouldn't have happened! You would be safe under my protection!" Chairman Gerald said angrily.
"I'M NOT YOUR WIFE!!" Jennifer shouted, sobbing.
"Yeah... yeah... you're not my wife! Believe whatever you want!" Gerald said angrily again.
“Sir…” John shook his head.
“I’m just angry, John! Look at her stupidity! Do you think the one who broke down your apartment door was an ordinary human being? Can’t you see the signs? The scratches and so on? I know you may have forgotten me, but you’re not stupid, Jenny! Open your eyes! And do you think the one who attacked Captain Bryan’s house was also an ordinary human being? And you trust him more than me! Your husband!" Gerald shouted angrily.
Jennifer shook her head, "No! Impossible! I've never had anything to do with werewolves! They don't exist! They're legends..."
"Well... whatever! I'm tired of seeing your stupidity!" Gerald said, folding his arms across his chest.
"Argh!" Jennifer held her head, which felt painful.
"Jenny? What's wrong?" Gerald leaned towards Jennifer.
Jennifer shook her head, "My head hurts... that image... I vaguely saw..."
Jennifer fainted.
"Jenny? Jenny? John, what's wrong with Jenny? Why is she like this?" asked Gerald, panicking.
"It seems that your words, Alpha... triggered her memory, but it's painful and could be fatal, Alpha!" exclaimed John from the front.
"Then what should we do so that Jenny can remember?" asked Gerald worriedly.
John shook his head, 'I don't know either, Alpha. We should discuss this at the hospital later!'
"Then which hospital should I take her to, Alpha?" asked John.
"Of course, our hospital! What's wrong with you! Alex needs to be treated by a specialist, you know that!" said Alpha Gerald angrily.
“Alright, Alpha! Forgive my stupidity!” John said again.
“Enough! Hurry up, John! I don’t want anything to happen to My Luna and my pups if we’re late!” Gerald looked at both of them with a sad expression.
“Forgive me… I…” Alpha Gerald stroked Jennifer and Alex without either of them noticing.
