Chapter 54

At first, Ash was angered by the looks they were getting when they reached the underwater city. Tonners were whispering and staring, not caring that he could hear them. His anger faded when he remembered that he was a masculine figure and that was new for any of them.

Fear soon overtook his thought process. What if everything Tonsil had said was the truth? The prophecy? What if Myan really was going to be a sacrifice?

"How much longer?" He grunted, clenching his fists and squeezing his face into a frown.

"You don't have to worry. We will get there just in time." Tonsil read his mind, placed one hand on her shoulder to calm him.

"I don't need your words of comfort." He slapped her hand off. "Nothing can cause me worry because I wouldn't let anything happen to her,” he said with assurance.

Tonsil shook her head a little with a sigh, not uttering any more words.

The underwater world was a beautiful one.

It was empty but it smelled like peace.

"Where do the Bingsols stay?" He scoffed.

They swam past a group of sea turtles with rainbow-colored shells and got to the bottom of the ocean.

The floors were sandy and were decorated with multiple seashells.

"First, we go to see the Queen, she will give us the permission to go their camp and…"

"What madness is this?" Ash roared, slamming his fist into the signboard on the left. That caused Tonsil to flinch, but she cared less.

"Look, you can either be a big baby about this, or let us find a way to make things better,” she snapped at him. "You know how wrong things can be if you do it your own way. You can take her, but if you let us help you, we might teach her ways to control her powers." Tonsil told him.

"Where is Myan?" He stood his ground. When he realized there was no getting information from this patterned Tonner, he swam upwards and away from her sight like he knew where he was going.

"Ash!" She trailed after him. "You need to stay calm." She held his wrist, pulling him back with her. "Trust me."

Ash sighed, knowing even his powers couldn't find Myan for him if he tried to. He followed her quietly and waited for her to lead the way.

When Tonsil had mentioned a queen, he had expected to see the most attractive Tonner, with jewels on her wrists and skin that glistened but they were met with an old hag fish that seemed to be rotting to death.

The disgust was visible on his face. Her odor made him want to burn her alive and her cracking voice did not make it any better.

"Young man, you reek of impatience." The queen began, swimming up to his height and scanning his face for emotions.

"Where is my wife?" He decided to say, rather than tell her how she smelled.

"We can get her from the Bingsols, but we need to make her a power control and that can take a week or two,” she began.

"So, I'm supposed to just leave my wife like that?" He gasped, "what if she is sacrificed before we get back here?" He frowned. "Are you people insane?" He gasped.

"Tell me where she is!" He gripped the queen by her neck, squeezing tight, losing every form of control he had forced.

Ash let go of her and swam into the room she had come out of, disregarding privacy. He couldn't think right and all he wanted was to know was that Myan was safe and bring her back with him.

Not finding anything in the room packed with nothing but mirrors, shells and sea weeds, he began to toss everything around him in anger. "This is madness!" He cried, his veins showing through his blue skin.

Tonsil and her queen came into the room after him and stopped him as soon as he began raging and throwing her mirrors, crashing them against the walls across.

"Hey! Look, all we wanted was to help you and if you would rather do something so foolish, you are welcome to,” she hissed, "tonsil, take him to the Bingsols cave."

"But my queen!" Tonsil gasped, not believing her ears.

"Take him now." The queen was adamant.

With sad eyes, Tonsil sighed and looked up at him, "come with me."
