Chapter 41

Hilda dropped my hands and backed up away from me.

"what's the matter?" I asked now getting nervous myself.

Hilda was still in shock and wouldn't say anything.

"Answer her witch! What is going on!" Shane roared.

Hilda’s eyes shifted from Shane to me.

"I know what she wants to know. " The witch confessed.

"Well, do you have an answer for her?" Shane pressed.

" I do. But I don't know if it is what either of you are going to want to hear," she warned us.

" spit it out already!" Shane said getting more impatient.

"Well my dear Alpha, I am afraid you can't get something for nothing. Before I disclose what I know. I need payment."

"what do you mean? How can you get payment, I haven't even told you what I wanted.." I asked.

"you didn't need to darling. When I touched your hands, I was able to see what you wanted to know. Plus more." She informed me.

"What do you mean more.."

"Ah Luna, that is where the payment comes in. Again I will not give you any information for nothing."

"What kind of payment are you looking for," Shane asked curious as to what she might want.

I can't even begin to imagine what she could want.

"I am so glad that you asked Alpha, but what I need you can't give me, only your Luna can."

"Alright, what can I give you for payment.." I asked a little worried.

"I want the tongue of the goblin that stands guard between our world and the pixie world. and I want the wings of the fairy prisoner in the Pixie cells.."

"Please excuse my tone, but how in the actual fuck do you suggest we get this for you? And I have a question. Do you need this stuff before you answer my questions?" It seems she has lost her mind.

"No child, that is where the contract comes in."

"Contract?" Shane added.

"Yes, you see once you have this information you seek, I require you both to go and fetch my payment, failure to do so grants me your firstborn."

"what do you mean." I pressed.

"Meaning if you do not give me what I ask for a payment, I get your firstborn," she explained.

I looked over at Shane, how can I grant her our firstborn? That is not something I am willing to risk.

"But if you get me what I ask of you then you don't have to worry about any of your future pups," she added.

I can't believe what I am hearing.

"I don't know how we are going to get this stuff for you… can you guide us as to where to get it?"

"I sure will as soon as the both of you agree and sign the contract."

I look over at Shane again. His head is down. I know that he is trying to keep his cool. I can feel the anger pulsating off of him.

"Fine witch… where is the contract.." Shane said sounding upset

I Was in disbelief. He is agreeing to get her these things and if not give her our firstborn. I would not sooner reject him than give her any pup of mine. But I keep that to myself.

"Alright… let us see this contract…" I said getting upset.

Out of nowhere, there was a small fash and a contract hung in mid-air as if someone was holding but there wasn't anyone doing so. Hilda took the contract and gave it to Shane. I got as close as I could to him to read it along with him. After reading it like 5 times I locked eyes with Shane. It was exactly what she said. If we don't get her what she has asked us for, then she gets our firstborn. I don't know if I like those stakes. What she is asking us for is damn near impossible. But we don't have any other choice... If I want answers this is what we have to do... And she is the only one who has the answers to my questions... I link Shane before speaking out.

"Shane, do you think it is a good idea?" I asked him.

" I don't know if it is a good idea. But I know that it is the only way to know what you want to know. "

"Would you be mad if I agree to this?"

"No, my Luna I back you no matter what your decision is.."

I gave Shane a very gentle kiss thanking him for his support.

"We accept. " I said to her.

"Good.." She said and a smile crossed her face.

She approached us with her dagger out in the open.

"A prick of your finger you will sign in blood. It bonds you to the contract no matter where you go or how far you run.." SHe said

I just nodded. There was nothing else I could do. Shane and I both held our hands out. She pricked our fingers and we signed the contract. Once it was signed it vanished into thin air.

"Good now that is settled."

"What is the information that you have?" Shane asked her again.

"Well that Alpha has been looking for you for a long time. After you got away when you were a child, he sent his pack warriors to follow your scent and they did. But that Alpha knew better than to do something out in the open. Considering you lived within the human world."

Was she able to see all of this when she touched me? Is she making some of this up? Are my thoughts this deep? Could she be getting information from another source?

"Once he knew where you were, he sent his watchers to keep an eye on you until they saw what they were looking for.." She continued.

"what is it that they are looking for?" I blurted out.

"A piece of jewelry that you were gifted from your mother," she explained.

She is talking about the ring that my mother gave me. But why?

"Why would he want that ring? It was something my mother gave me before she died. There is nothing ‘special’ about it besides that."

"my dear that ring holds a great significance to him. That ring is called the Flaming pearl (also Wish-granting pearl), The pearl on that ring is associated with spiritual energy, wisdom, prosperity, power, immortality, thunder, or the moon. However, that is not the only reason he has been following you.."

"What do you mean? What else could there be.." Shane questioned.

"You see Alpha, your mate here is not just any ordinary Luna, or werewolf. She is a half-breed."

"Half breed?"

" Yes, Alpha, your mate here is also royalty.."

"Royalty?"

"Wow, you catch on quickly Luna. Yes royalty, your mother was half wolf half Pixie. And she was the next heir to the pixie thrown… Unfortunately, her time was cut short because of Logan. So naturally that makes you the next in line to the thrown."

Could This be why my mother wanted me to hide? Can this be real? Am I royalty? Could she be wrong… how can I be a half-breed? I thought to myself.

"This is all a little much… but what does this have to do with anything?" I asked her

"For Logan to do what he wants to with that ring, one he needs to get his hands on it and you, and two he needs you to bring him to the realm of the pixies.."

"What for? What does he plan on doing with that ring?

"Something that has never been done before, he plans on taking over the pixie realm and defeating the moon goddess, taking complete control over her realm, the werewolves, and the pixie's realm and the pixies… this, in turn, would make him the most powerful Alpha there ever lived."

"Does anyone else know about this?" Shane asked.

"Yes Alpha, there are 3 others that know about this besides us here in this room."

"Who?" I questioned.

"His right-hand man, his left-hand man and his gofer."

"Who are these people?"

"Well Alpha, his gofer is Jessie, I am positive that both of you know who that is.

"I knew that he had something to do with Logan! I fucking knew it!" My anger was coming out.

"His left-hand man, Freki. He was the one that set up Logan going to your pack that night.."

"I think I have heard that name before. I will have to get in touch with my father to find out.."

I turned to look at Shane, who was not looking at his mother. And at this moment Shane's mother had a horrible look on her face. When Hilda said that name it was almost as if she had seen a ghost. I will let Shane know and see what he can find out. I hope that his mother doesn't have anything to do with this... But right now, I guess anything is possible.

"And lastly his right-hand man former Alpha Channing.."

I couldn't breathe when she said this. That was my father's name.. Could it be possible that my father never died in that takeover? Could it be that my father was working for Logan this whole time? That would be the only thing that makes sense.

"There is now one other person that knows about all of this.."

"WHO?" Shane hissed.

"A she-wolf that got close to Jessie while he was here.. Claudia…"

Carolina slammed her fists onto the table...

"Impossible. She wouldn't do anything to hurt Shane. She is his chosen mate!" His mother shouted and my jaw dropped.

"Mother you are wrong.. She was never my chosen mate… you wanted me to choose her but I didn't. Not then and not now. I never wanted to be her mate! I wanted my fated mate and now I Have her." Shane yelled in a warning tone.

"Your fated mate has your whole pack in this whole mess because of her family! How could you.."

"LEAVE!"

"What?"

"YOU ARE NO LONGER WELCOME HERE! I WANT YOU TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!"

"I am not.."

"GUARDS!!!"

A rush of men came into the room and grabbed Carolina by her arms.

"Take her to the holding room right now! I will deal with her when I am done here." Shane ordered.

The guards nodded and dragged her away. Not without a little show... Carolina didn't go quietly. But I expected as much. Once she was gone I had one more question for Hilda.

"I just have one more question if that is okay.." I said quietly.

"Yes, dear. That is perfectly fine."

"You said former Alpha Channing. Is that my father?"

"I'm sorry to say this but yes dear it is.."

"My father is a bad guy…"
