Simon other half of Alexander's soul

After working all day and evening in the kitchen Greta went to her room and got ready for bed. Throughout the night, Greta not only failed to learn why Alexander had Simon as his other half of his soul but why the soft ears and long tail of a snow leopard? How did Simon become a snow leopard, or even how did Alexander get Simon? Was he born this way? She never noticed it before she was reborn. Maybe something happened to him, something happened to her so that could be plausible. but was left with even more unanswered questions. She started to drift off to sleep deciding to ask Carl tomorrow when she returns to work in the kitchen.

The next day she walked in and said good morning to Minty and Carl. “didn’t get any sleep last night?” taking her elbow and tapping Greta’s arm with it. Greta laughed at Minty.

“No, but not what you’re thinking.” Laughing as she looked over the menu for today, deciding what she needed to retrieve to start preparing.

Carl was bringing in some bacon from the pantry, “hey Carl can I speak with you?” Carl always had time to Greta especially after he thought she reminded him of her deceased wife.

“Sure, just give me a sec so I can put these on the prep table.” He dropped them on the wooden table and walked over to Greta. “What’s up?”

“Well, it might sound weird but here it goes.” She was shifting on both of her feet from being nervous asking Carl these questions. “Is it possible for someone’s personality to change overnight, as if they had become an entirely different person?” rubbing her hands together waiting for his answer.

He put his finger up to his chin and started to tap on it, like he was in deep thought to the question. “A person might have two souls, both having experienced unimaginable pain, misfortune was their only commonality then yes, it can happen.” Carl suggested to her.

“Wow, okay thanks Carl.” She breathed out, not realizing she was holding her breath waiting for his answer.

“I have seen it happen once, A old friend of mine was in a war and he couldn’t save his fellow soldiers, the next time I saw him he introduced me to Alfred his other half of his soul. This Alfred was a cheetah, very weird thing to experience but it happened. He was happy and Alfred apparently saved him from his deep depression and heart ache.” Carl told her as he walked back to the wooden table.

Her fear started to creep up her spine again. But she was on a mission to marry Alexander and if that meant to also marry Simon so be it because she was not marrying Regnar.

Greta went back to help Minty; she looked like she needed help with the potatoes. “So, Greta what happened yesterday when you left with Randy?” Asking while she was peeling, Greta grabbed another peeler and started peeling also.

“Nothing really, I kissed him.” Shrugging her shoulders like it was no big deal.

“You kissed Lord Alexander? Greta what were you thinking?” Minty stopped peeling and turned Greta to look at her.

“I guess I wasn’t thinking but he kissed me back. So, it’s all good.” Greta was nervous, “Minty, maybe I made a mistake though. Do you ever feel like you’re not living in reality? Like your life was turned upside down and so many twists and turns?” Hoping Minty could help her see things more clearly but right now life was starting to get foggy.

“Girl, my life has been so boring, I wish I could say it’s not reality, but it is. So is yours, you just must face the facts. Whatever they are you just must deal with it and follow your plan in life if you have one. Now saying this, if you ever need me as a friend, I will be there for you Greta. You can talk to me; I know your only relative on this ship just passed away, but you can lean on me. I’m old enough to be your mother anyway and I have no children so I can be your faux mom.” Laughing she came in for a hug. Greta isn’t used to being hugged but she needed it so they both wrapped their arms around each other and just hugged.

Greta felt better after talking to Minty and Carl. Thinking about what Carl told her. I wonder if Alexander’s tragedy as the woman he cared for before that he killed everyone that hurt her. Is that when Simon appeared? Everyone that gets his soul split will become an animal person. Her mind was going everywhere trying to come up with different situations, different reasons.

Then she started to think about the kisses. Alexander’s was passionate while Simon was trying to dominate. Simon wanted to show he will take care of me by tying my shoes while Alexander wanted to explain. They did have different personalities and Simon’s ears were super soft and beautiful, his tail was missing. I wonder if he can control when they can come out.

She still needed time to think and process everything. If she sleeps with Alexander will Simon pop out and take over in the middle of it? Her thoughts were so deep she wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing. Once again, she slipped the knife off the potato and cut her finger slightly. This wasn’t as bad as the last time, but Minty made a small medical kit to keep in the kitchen especially for her.

“Not again. “Minty said exasperation was showing on her face. She put her knife down and walked over to the medical kits and retrieved a bandage and antiseptic. “Give it to me.” Minty asked Greta as she held her hand out for Greta to place her finger in it. Minty applied the antiseptic and bandage around her finger.
