CHAPTER 12. ZAIN AND JEREMY
"What are you going to do with these things, Miss?" a servant asked when he saw the pile of boxes in the living room.
"Burn it! I don't want to see anything related to that bastard!" said Sandra with a face full of emotion.
After hearing the news of Sarah and Alex's wedding, Sandra returned to her apartment. She wanted to get rid of all the memories of her ex-husband. Her heart hurts so much, knowing that Alex never loved her.
Apart from getting rid of memories of her marriage, Sandra is also busy rearranging her apartment. She wanted to create an entirely new home atmosphere that no longer reminded her of the past with her asshole husband. Painstakingly, she began moving furniture, changing decorations, and bringing in new elements that reflected her happiness and hopes for a brighter future.
As night fell, Sandra sat in the center of the newly renovated living room. She felt relieved, although there were still wounds that needed to heal. She knew that this change was the first step towards healing and living a better life without the shadow of her ex-husband. She smiled, feeling that this apartment was now her home, where she could write a new chapter in her life story.
“Finally finished too,” said Sandra as she lay on the sofa. Her body was a little tired and also dirty after cleaning activities in her house. Her eyes looked around the room, which seemed very different from before.
“Hopefully, after this, I can forget all about my past with him,” she muttered, trying to come to terms with the situation.
Suddenly, the apartment bell rang. The woman told her servant to open the door. After talking to a mysterious man, the servant approached Sandra with a bouquet of roses that was not too large.
"A bouquet for you, Miss," the waiter said as he placed a bouquet of roses on the table.
"Flowers from whom?" asked Sandra, her eyes full of confusion.
“No idea, Miss. The courier just handed over these flowers without mentioning the sender.”
Sandra got up from the sofa with growing curiosity. She approached the roses and saw a card tucked among the other flowers.
When she was about to take the card, Sandra’s finger was pierced by a sharp thorn on one of the roses. Even though it was only scratched by a small thorn, the wound was profound. Fresh blood dripped out of the woman’s index finger until it hit the card that initially looked blank. However, as her blood touched the card’s surface, words appeared as if they were emerging from within the card itself.
“Damn! I got pricked by a thorn in my finger!" Sandra rushed to her room to get cotton and red medicine to treat the wound. After finishing treating the injury, Sandra intends to remove the flowers that look like they are ownerless. However, her eyes accidentally fell on the greeting card beside the bouquet, which suddenly contained a lot of writing.
With a feeling of shock and horror, Sandra took the greeting card and began to read the writing on it.
“Welcome back! I can’t wait to see you, like a night in a dark forest. Get ready to spend the rest of your time with me. From your secret admirer.”
Sandra’s hands suddenly trembled after reading the horrifying text. Her breathing felt labored, and her face was pale. “No way. That thing is still chasing me?”
Seeing her mistress, who suddenly froze, the servant tried to reprimand her. “Are you alright, Miss?”
The waitress touched Sandra's shoulder gently, but the woman was startled and screamed hysterically.
"Don't hurt me. Get away from me!" Sandra ran to the corner of the room and ducked like a frightened baby.
“It's me, Miss. I won't hurt you," the middle-aged maid said as she approached Sandra slowly, not to worsen her situation.
Slowly, Sandra began to regain her sanity. She raised her face and looked at the middle-aged woman she knew. The woman breathed a sigh of relief as she rubbed her chest.
“I’m sorry. I lost control because of the terrible writing on the card -.”
However, Sandra’s words stopped when she saw that all the horrible writing had suddenly disappeared from the greeting card, leaving no trace. Sandra was wide-eyed, witnessing the horror, and panic returned to her.
“I’m sure there was writing on this card!” Sandra also showed the card to her waitress, but the middle-aged woman reacted pleasantly.
“This card has been blank since earlier. That’s why the courier didn’t know the sender’s identity.”
“But there was -.”
"Then let me just remove the flowers. So that you can relax." The maid removed the mysterious bouquet from the apartment, although Sandra could no longer be as calm as before.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, two men were sitting on the roof of a very tall building in the city. Both men were wearing brown furry robes with fiery red eyes.
"Why are you stalling for time? Don't you want to carry out the duties of our master, Zain?" asked the red-haired man.
“I did my duty by killing her that night. But who knows if she’s still alive,” he muttered as he looked out one of the apartment’s windows across from him.
"If you don't want to kill him now, let me!" The red-haired man had prepared to leave the place, but a sudden attack hit him.
It was a man named Zain who attacked the man with red hair. The red-haired man’s body bounced away from where it was.
"Don't try to take my prey, Jeremi! I don't like it." Zain said quietly, but it sounded deadly. Zain walked over to his partner, extending a hand to help him up.
"We could get into trouble if you slow down your task!"
"You don't understand, Jeremi. I just wanted to play around with that woman for a while. Isn't she so pretty?"
Jeremi snorted at his friend's words. He understood that Zain loved to play with women, especially humans. But this time was different; they were running errands.
“You can play around with other women, Zain. Many other women are more beautiful than her.”
“You don’t have to worry, Jeremi. I won’t cause any trouble,” Zain said, patting Jeremi on the shoulder.
But without Zain realizing it, Jeremi still wanted to finish Sandra off immediately. He has a plan to kill the woman quickly.
‘Sorry, Zain. I can’t comply with your wishes this time. I don’t want to put us in danger just because of your stupidity,’ Jeremi thought.
