CHAPTER 11. BACK HOME AND THE PAINFUL NEWS
"I apologize if I'm not being polite enough, Miss. I was surprised when I had to take you to this residential address. Perhaps you've given the wrong address?" said a doubtful taxi driver as his car pulled up in front of a palace-like mansion.
Sandra was stunned to hear the taxi driver's words. But a few moments later, she understood why the taxi driver said that. Anyone would also think the same if they saw her current condition. With a dirty face smeared with dirt, shabby clothes, and hair that looks tangled, he does look like a homeless person today.
"I do live here. It's just that I'm having a hard time right now. However, I will pay for your taxi fare.
The taxi driver looked at Sandra with such a compassionate gaze that he did not want to take the transportation fee from her. "If you're in trouble, there's no need to pay."
The dimpled woman was grateful for the taxi driver's kindness. But she did not want to take the opportunity. "Thank you for your kindness. However, I will still pay your taxi fare, sir. You have to wait here for a while."
After that, Sandra got out of the taxi. She walked towards a large house with a dark brown fence. The woman's outstretched arm pressed the intercom device near the wall almost ten meters high.
The evening sunlight shone behind her as she stood before the intercom camera, waiting for someone to answer from inside the mansion.
"Hello, this is Sandra. Can you open the door now?" she said hopefully.
After a few seconds, the gate began to move, and Sandra could hear the automatic door machine buzzing. Then, a young man in a security uniform appeared.
With a facial expression full of confusion and fear, the man looked at Sandra. "Are you Miss Sandra?" he asked, looking closely at Sandra.
Meanwhile, Sandra seemed to dislike the gaze of her subordinate, so she sneaked past the guard.
"What do you mean, Jarwo? Are your eyes so myopic that you can't recognize me?" However, before fully entering, Sandra's arm was suddenly grabbed hard by the strapping man.
"You can't go inside. Unless you can prove that you are our Miss," the man said in a still wary voice. His gaze was sharp and stern, determined to protect the house's safety.
Sandra, who had previously felt relaxed and confident, now looked angry. Sandra looked at the young man standinLessfore her with eyes that flashed because of the big mistake.
"I may not be dressed properly now, but that doesn't mean you can't recognize me, Jarwo!" With those words, Sandra felt the need to remind the young man of his mistake. So annoyed, Sandra pointed at her subordinate's face.
However, the young man seemed to feel remorseful. He quickly tried to explain, "I'm sorry, Miss. I didn't mean to be disrespectful. I was just following the orders of my employer, who told me not to let anyone into the house."
Sandra felt the need to ease her anger. She let out a long sigh and gently stroked her chest. "I know you're just doing your job. But you can't keep your employer out of her own house."
The young man bowed his head, looking very troubled. One of his index fingers stroked his chin, indicating he was under serious consideration. After a moment of silence, he finally revealed something surprising.
"Actually, since the fateful accident that made our Miss Sandra disappear, many women claim to be her. " The explanation came out of his lips in a sad and concerned tone, and it immediately made Sandra flabbergasted.
When Sandra was in front of the fence, a luxury car suddenly stopped. The woman immediately recognized who was in it and immediately ran towards the glittering vehicle. Eagerly, she tapped on the windshield until someone finally lowered the glass.
Inside the car, a middle-aged man was wearing a suit complete with sunglasses that gave an elegant touch to his appearance. "Are you Sandra, my child?" murmured the middle-aged man in a doubtful voice.
"That's right, Dad, it's me, Sandra!" she replied, smiling broadly and showing a neat set of teeth, her face flushed with happiness.
However, her father's reaction was not as expected. The middle-aged man was silent; the eyes that looked at Sandra seemed to radiate doubt. The smile on the woman's face slowly faded, and she took a few steps back with a disappointed look.
“Don't you trust me?" she asked in a brooding tone.
But, suddenly, the middle-aged man got out of his luxury car without ever taking his eyes off Sandra. Then, in a moment so shocking, he took Sandra's left hand and uncovered the sleeve of her dress. There was a birthmark that was the same as her daughter's birthmark.
Suddenly, the man laughed with teary eyes. "Oh my God. You are my daughter, Sandra!" he said in a voice full of joy, hugging his daughter tightly.
“Yes, Daddy, I'm Sandra," she said in a voice full of emotion in her father's warm embrace.
"Then let's talk inside. I have a lot of things to ask you." James invited his daughter to get into the car.
"Wait, Father! I have something to finish first." Sandra turned to her subordinate and beckoned the man to come closer.
"Please forgive my behavior earlier, Miss Sandra. I really -"
Please pay for my taxi fare! Give more money to the driver." Sandra ordered without wanting to question the incident a few moments ago.
The young man immediately agreed to Sandra's orders without daring to look directly at his employer's.

Arriving at her father's house, Sandra chose to clean herself first. After the woman finished cleaning, James invited his daughter to chat in his study.
They both sat with their backs to each other on the sofa in the center of the study. JamesHosened the conversation first.
"What happened to you? Everyone was looking for you at the scene of the accident. But all they found was your mangled car."
Sandra looked confused to answer her father's question. She didn't want to be thought crazy if she told the truth. "Someone saved me, and he took care of me until I recovered." she lied.
"Who is that person? I have to return the favor," James said enthusiastically.
Sandra smiled slightly as she let out a long sigh. "He went somewhere far away. I don't know if we'll ever see each other again."
"That's too bad. I was going to give him a big gift for saving you," he explained.
Then, suddenly, Sandra was reminded of her sister and her cheating husband. "Then what about Sarah and Alex?" asked Sandra weakly.
James was silent for a while. He took a cigarette and lit it. Sandra was wide-eyed at the sight of her father, who had become a smoker. "Since when did you smoke?"
James' gaze stared straight ahead blankly. "Ever since your accident and your disappearance. After months of searching, all we found were pieces of your clothes. The police said a wild animal had eaten you."
James' voice became hoarse as he recounted the heart-wrenching events. "It broke my heart to hear the news."
Sandra looked sad to see her father. She moved to sit next to James, hugging the middle-aged man. "But now I'm back. You don't have to be sad anymore."
James wiped away the traces of his tears and embraced his daughter. He caressed her face as he kissed the top of her head. "That's right. You're back home now; that's more than enough."

Then James released his embrace from Sandra. He wasi thoughtfully at the young woman. "But there's something you should know. Maybe this is not good news for you to hear.
Sandra narrowed her eyes with a serious face. "What news, Dad?"
"It's about Sarah and Alex," James said carefully while watching his daughter's reaction.
Meanwhile, Sandra looked both furious and curious about the two lovebirds. "What's the news about the two of them, Father?" asked Sandra sternly.
"They are married."
"What? How is that possible?" screamed Sandra in shock.
