Chapter 99 Full of Love.
Chapter 99 Full of Love.
Creed’s pov.
“Tell me how she’s doing, please,” I say to the healer as they come out of Lily's room.
The healer sighs as he places his clip board down on the counter beside me.
“It’s not looking good, my King. She used too much dark magic, her body is paying the price,” he says with pity in his eyes, which only makes me angrier at the situation.
“Can I go see her?” I ask with my head in my hands.
“There’s something else I need to tell you, King,” he says, not able to meet my eyes.
“Well?” I ask impatiently, “what is it?”
“The queen… has slipped into some kind of deep sleep. Her dragon placed her into it, there’s nothing we can do to wake her,” he finally answers, looking up into my eyes.
“Will she wake up?” I say quietly, my voice breaking around the edges.
“We don’t know, King. Only time will tell, her body needs to heal,” he sighs, shaking his head in pity and sadness.
“I- I need to get to my fledglings,” I whisper, stumbling towards the exit.
The healer doesn’t say anything else, just watches me stumble my way out of the doors.
I find myself in the tribe house, in front of the staircase to our room…
My vision keeps turning black and I can’t remember how I even got here.
I open my eyes and realize I am stumbling into my room, mine and Lily’s room…
I look up and see all of the shocked faces looking back at me.
“Oh my goddess, Creed!” Alex shrieks, running towards me with wide eyes.
“What happened!” Raya asks, holding onto two babies.
“Where are they?” I say, ignoring everyone around me.
“The babies are right here, Creed,” Raya answers quietly, looking around at everyone nervously, “they are sleeping…”
I walk towards the beds they are sleeping on, looking down at the babies Lily and I created.
I see my son instantly, Maddox.
“Maybe you should have a shower first, before you hold them,” Alex says to me, smiling a little as I turn my head to look at her, “you have blood all over yourself.”
“Definitely clean yourself up, son. If not for you for the children,” Eric says as he places a hand on my shoulder.
I look down, noticing that she’s right. I do have blood all over myself.
I walk to my closet wordlessly.
Grabbing a pair of sweatpants before walking into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.
I step under the hot water, watching the blood wash away.
‘You need to hurry up,’ Hunter says into my mind, ‘I must see them again.’
“I’m going as fast as I can,” I mutter out loud, using my hand to scrub off the blood on my face.
I step out of the shower, wrapping a towel around myself.
I wipe the mirror off, staring at my reflection.
Hunter’s working hard to heal my wounds, but nothing can heal the turmoil my head is going through.
I slip my sweatpants on before going back out into the room, walking directly to my children.
“Everyone leave except Raya,” I say, gently lifting Maddox up.
“But-,” Lily’s grandmother went to protest but my sister stopped her.
“You heard him, Glenda. Let’s go, we have all the time to see them, but for now Creed needs time alone,” she says, guiding her out of the room, Beatrice and Erik behind her.
“What can I do to help?” Raya asks.
I take my eyes away from Maddox, smiling slightly at her.
“Since Lily isn’t here right now I’m going to need your help taking care of them,” I say quietly, gesturing towards the quads.
“Of course, I’ll do whatever I can,” she whispers, “but Creed… at some point I’m going to need to see Ryan.”
“I know,” I whisper, rocking back and forth, “I can’t believe I’m asking you to stay but I don’t think I know how to do this, I don’t know if I could care for them on my own.”
“It’s okay,” she says, also rocking her sons.
“What did you name them?” I ask, looking at the two babies in her arms.
“Aspin and wren,” she smiles.
“Those are strong names for strong beta heirs,” I say to her with a smile.
She laughs slightly, sighing while looking away.
“I really need to know he’s okay, Creed,” she says quietly, a tear trying to make its way out of her eyes.
“Lily healed him before she passed out,” I say, trying to reassure her, “he’s just got to wake up now.”
She breathes a sigh of relief, smiling at her sons.
I look towards the baby beds as a small cry comes from one of my daughters.
I look down at her tiny face.
Running my fingers along her blonde hair.
She opens her eyes, looking up at me with eyes so much like my own.
A small sob makes its way out of my throat before I can help it.
Raya sets Aspin and Wren down to help me pick up my daughter.
“Juniper,” I whisper as Raya places her in my arms.
She snuggled against me and her brother, making my smile widen.
“Yes, that’s Junie,” Raya says with a smile, “how’d you know?”
“I don’t know, just a feeling.”
So much love and affection runs through my heart, Hunter's emotions powering mine even more to the point I can’t control the emotions.
I place Juniper and Maddox down. Wanting to see my other daughters.
I pick one of them up, staring into ocean blue eyes.
“Mazikeen,” I smile, gently grabbing onto her sister and holding them both close.
“And Athena,” I laugh slightly, not able to believe they’re here.
“Wow, it’s crazy how you were able to tell which one was which!” Raya laughs, grabbing Aspin and Wren again.
“I just had a feeling,” I say as I place small kisses on Maze and Athena’s heads.
I look at their identical blue eyes and smile, loving how much they look like their mother.
“I’m going to take care of you…” I whisper “with everything I have.”
