Chapter 91 Dea!h.
Creed’s pov.
‘Where the hell are you?’ I yell down Ryan and I’s link as I run as fast as I can down the halls of the tribe house.
‘I’m in the middle of battle!’ He responds instantly, the sounds of yelling and screaming in the background.
‘What area of the tribe lands are you on?’ I ask as I pick up speed, barreling through the front doors.
‘North side!’ He yells before the link cuts off.
As soon as I get outside the sounds of explosions in all directions can be heard along with the terrified screams of my tribe members.
“Get into the underground chambers!” I scream at anyone who can hear, “run! Now!”
Women with their children run past me with fear filled eyes, trying to get them to safety.
I continue running through the tribe lands, trying to make it to Ryan as quickly as I can.
As I see the tree line near me I shift into Hunter with ease, pushing our wings down and soaring into the sky.
I fly over the trees, careful not to knock any down.
The soft rumbling from Hunter can be felt in my chest.
I strain my vision and see Ryan fighting in his human form, taking on two men who look crazed.
I growl and look to the side, seeing Jason and Midnight fighting not far from Ryan.
As I get above the border I unleash my dragon's breath on a rogue who’s sneaking up behind Ryan.
He screams in pain as his body burns.
Ryan turns his head quickly to see what is happening and watches as the rogue falls to the ground lifelessly.
He snaps his head back in the direction of the two other rogues he was fighting and sticks his hand through one’s chest, ripping his heart out.
The second guy doesn’t detour in his attacks though, the crazed look in his eyes never dimming.
I look around and spot Midnight fighting with a worried look on her face.
Deciding to fly down to her I fly down quickly, shifting into my human form before I even touch the ground.
“Midnight!” I yell over the screams and yells.
Her head snaps in my direction, “Creed! These aren't rogues! They are all from the underworld! My- my people are attacking yours!”
“What!” I scream in anger, feeling Hunter pushing towards the front of my mind, wanting to take control.
“Something- someone-,” she stutters, eyes scattering along the war that is happening around us, “someone is making them do this. They don’t seem like themselves.”
“With hell to them! I don’t care if they are doing it from their own free will! They are killing my people! And my mate is in labor as we speak!” I roar out in complete rage, wanting to tear these demons limb from limb.
“I know,” she says sadly, looking back towards me, “you have to either rip out their heart or take off their head. With enough power your dragons breathe could possibly kill them.”
With that she turns back around and starts fighting again, turning into her shadow figure, pulling demons to herself effortlessly.
My eyes dart back in Ryan’s direction and I see he is faltering.
Four demons are pushing him back, farther into the unclaimed territory.
With a roar of fury I run towards them, sliding onto my knees past demons trying to latch onto me.
“Ryan!” I yell as loudly as I can, “watch out!”
I make it to him just in time to stick my hand through the back of the demon's chest, ripping its heart out before he could kill Ryan.
“Thanks,” he breathes out between gaps of breath.
“Don’t mention it,” I mutter before looking for my next kill.
I spot a demon coming right for me and without hesitation run directly at him.
It seems like they are under some kind of spell, making it almost effortless to kill them… but they outnumber us by thousands.
As soon as the demon goes to throw his hand towards me, I dodge and shove my hand into his chest, squishing his heart in my hand and dropping his body to the ground.
I spin around, locking eyes with Ryan again.
He comes up behind me, watching my back as we begin to be circled.
The demons have lifeless looks in their eyes, as if their only mission is to kill every last one of us.
“You have to rip out their hearts,” I whisper quietly to Ryan, knowing he can hear me, “it’s the easiest way to kill them.”
Without warning he jumps out towards two demons, shoving both his hands into their chests and ripping their hearts out.
I also stick my hand into another one’s chest, squeezing his heart before moving into the next.
Each one we kill seems like hundreds more spawn out of nowhere, making our efforts futile.
“There’s too many of them,” Ryan says breathlessly, looking towards me before fighting another demon coming towards him.
“I know,” I grunt as I slice one’s head off with my dragon claws, “we can’t stop though, we have too much to fight for.”
We continue fighting with all we have, sustaining our power between us.
Just as I thought we had the upper hand I feel a sharp pain in my back.
“Argh!” I grunt out in pain, Hunter's anger only getting worse.
I spin around while gripping the small blade in my back.
I pull it out slowly while looking into a pair of soulless eyes.
I growl softly, walking towards the demon scum with my hands up, ready to get my claws out.
They do something I didn’t see coming, giving me just enough time to react.
As they come running at me full speed.
I spin out of their reach, gripping their neck from behind, crushing it until I am able to rip it off.
I toss their head onto the ground, scanning the area around me.
There’s blood and bodies all over the ground.
Hundreds of demons died, along with a few of my own warriors.
I hear something in the distance along with screams of terror and whip my head in the direction to be met with a massive figure covered in a black cloak.
He’s stepping through a portal with a huge battle axe in his hand.
Looking straight towards me.
The man from my vision.
