Chapter 70 Oh, Creed.
Creed’s pov.
“I’ll mindlink the warrior I sent to watch them,” Ryan says, linking the warrior right away.
“Well?” I ask impatiently, “what did he say?”
“He said they’re in the bathroom right now, that they’ll be leaving when they come out,” Ryan mumbles, looking suspicious.
“He said that?” I ask.
“Wait,” he says as his eyes glaze over, “they are on their way back now.”
I swallow the lump that’s in my throat and nod my head at him, knowing that when Lily gets home I have a lot of apologizing to do.
“I’m going to head back to my office, finish up training for the day,” I say before walking towards the tribe house.
As I sat down at my desk I couldn’t stop thinking about how angry and hurt Lily must’ve felt this morning, my stomach tightens in discomfort at the thought of hurting her.
I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t want her to worry or carry this burden with me. She already has been through so much and she’s pregnant with multiple babies, my babies. How could I make her life any harder.
But I guess I did the wrong thing, and I ended up making her life more difficult. Without even trying.
Sighing to myself I place my head in my hands and groan in frustration. I doubt I’ll be able to get anything done until I make it up to her.
‘King, your mate and betas mate have arrived back. They are going towards the children’s store,’ a warrior mindlinks me suddenly.
‘Thank you, I will check in with them,’ I reply before mindlinking Lily.
‘Sweetheart?’ I whisper down our link.
‘What do you want, Creed,’ I hear her voice answer back, sounding not very impressed.
‘I-I just wanted to know how you’re doing?’ I whisper, feeling her anger.
‘I don’t know, Creed. I’ll talk to you when I get home,’ she says before cutting our link off, making my heart drop into my stomach.
‘She’s pissed,’ Hunter whispers in my mind, curling his tail around himself.
“She is,” I whisper out loud to myself.
Running a hand through my hair I decide to head back to our room and get a few things ready to apologize.
Mindlinking a young omega I ask her for some help, ‘Beatrice, I need you to grab fresh lilies and red roses, get the kitchen to prepare breakfast for dinner and put together some wine. Bring that all to my room, please,’ I say before shutting the link down, not waiting for a response.
With quick work I make it to our room fast, walking to our closet and getting out a pair of my sweatpants and a long shirt. Placing them on the bed I go towards the bathroom and turn the bath on, placing a heaping amount of lavender bubble bath that’s sitting on the side into it.
As I’m checking the temperature I hear a knock at the door, “come in!” I called out.
“King, the things you requested are on the dresser. I will take my leave now,” I hear Beatrice say before exiting the room.
Walking out of the bathroom I see she has set the flowers in vases on the dresser and there’s a tray with all different kinds of breakfast foods on it, off to the side there’s also three different kinds of wine with two glasses.
Swallowing the lump in my throat I start pacing the room, the nerves I’m feeling are making my stomach churn and my head is starting to hurt.
‘She’ll forgive us right?” Hunter says, ‘she has too.’
‘She doesn’t have to…’ I whisper back, ‘she has every right to be upset with me right now.’
Going back to the bathroom I check the bath and make sure the water hasn’t gone cold and it seems to be fine for now.
Walking back out of the bathroom I sit at the end of the bed trying to keep myself from fidgeting.
‘Alex?’ I whisper down the link between my sister and i, ‘have you spoken to Lily today… I kind of fucked up this morning.’
‘What the hell did you do!’ I hear her hiss down the link, causing me to wince.
‘I- I don’t even know where to start. I had a vision, at first I thought it was just a bad dream and I didn’t want to add to her plate and I… I basically ran out of our room this morning,’ I muttered sheepishly.
‘You did what!’ She screams, ‘you basically ran out of the room on your pregnant mate!’
I sigh and cringe at how angry she sounds, ‘obviously I didn’t mean to make her so upset, I thought I was doing the right thing but it turned out to be the wrong thing,’ I sigh, feeling like a total idiot.
‘Oh Creed,’ she sighs, ‘it’ll be okay, just make sure you give her a good explanation and an apology. It goes a long way.’
‘Thanks, Alex. I will,’ I say before closing our link down.
Getting up I decide to spread the rose petals along the floor. Grabbing one I spin it around in my hand and chuckle slightly to myself before I pick one petal off at a time.
I spread them all over the floor, from the door to the bed and along the bathroom, in front of the bath and even tossing a few into the bath.
By the time I finished all of the roses were along the floor, leaving the stems behind. Grabbing the vase with the lilies I place the pinky white flowers on her side of the bed, along with the tray of food.
Opening a bottle of red wine I pour a generous amount into each glass, swishing mine around before having a little.
Sitting back down on the end of the bed with both wine glasses in hand I hear the door handle turn before Lily walks in with her hands completely full with bags, and behind her Raya also has her hands full of bags.
As Lily looks up the frown that was on her face gets replaced with a look of shock. She drops the bags in her hands and looks around.
Raya also looks shocked and places the bags she’s carrying down before whispering something into Lily’s ear and walking away.
“Oh, Creed,” she whispers as a tear slips out of her eye.
