Chapter 57 What A Week.
Lily’s pov.
“Go on,” Creed urges me, “go find out.”
I take small, unsure steps towards my grandmother, not quite believing it’s true. My mother told me when I was young that all of her relatives were dead.
I extend my hand in her direction skeptically, almost wanting to change my mind.
As soon as she grasps my hand in hers an electric jolt goes through my body making me gasp. It’s like I’m transported into another world but what I see is actually my grandmother's memories.
In front of me is a younger version of my mother kneeling in front of a garden with my grandmother.
“Mama!” My mother squeals as my grandmother dumps a pile of dirt over her head.
My grandmother chuckles but stands to her feet fast as my mother grabs a handful of dirt herself to throw back at her mom.
They laugh uncontrollably at each other, running around the garden together.
I stand there watching, tears slipping out of my eyes.
My mother, so carefree and young. I miss her.
I feel a small hand placed on my shoulder and look behind me, my grandmother stands there with a sad smile on her face.
“There’s more I want you to see…” she says sadly. Transporting us to another part of her memories.
When the vision clears in front of me I see my grandmother standing in a hall of what looks like a castle, she’s standing outside of a door and when I look inside I can see my mother who is older now and my father.
My mother is looking lovingly at him while he’s working at his desk.
“My love, can’t you take one day off? We haven’t spent any real time together in ages… we can try for a baby again,” my mother says softly, placing a delicate hand on my fathers chest.
He looks impatient and slaps her hand away angrily, “not now! Please, just go to our room. I’ll be there when I’m finished,” he snaps without even sparing her a glance.
My mother sighs sadly but gets up without a word and leaves his office, my grandmother who was standing outside slips into the shadows, hiding from my mother.
She watches her daughter cry bitterly while walking sadly, but elegantly to her chambers. Shaking her head in anguish at the treatment her daughter is receiving.
Creeping towards the door she listens to what Danny Further is saying, wanting to give him a piece of her mind.
“What!” My father snaps angrily, face tuned down in a huge frown, “what do you mean you can’t get here with the starlight! I need it! It’s supposed to kill my mate's mother!”
I see my grandmother gasp and clutch her chest when she hears his words, taking small steps backwards with a scared look on her face.
“You see… this is why I had to fake my death. If I didn’t- maybe I’d be dead for real,” my grandmother says softly before we are transported back to the real world.
“Holy goddess!” I yell as I see all of my family and friends in front of me, “it’s true\- you’re my grandmother,” I say breathlessly, needing everyone to believe her.
My grandmother places a tender hand on my shoulder, “yes, I am. And I’m here now, I’m not going anywhere,” she says softly, giving me a light squeeze.
“I still can’t believe you’re pregnant!” Alex says in disbelief, looking at me and totally changing the topic.
I just chuckled and walked over towards her and took a seat beside Creed, taking Alex’s hand I placed it gently onto my belly, “feel that?” I ask and Alex gasps, “that’s them kicking me.”
“Really?” Alex says in astonishment, not taking her eyes away from my belly.
“Yes,” I giggle, taking Creed’s hand and placing it onto my belly and watching his reaction.
At first I don’t think Creed feels anything, I can’t even feel their little flutters, but then I feel it.
“wow…” Creed mutters, “they’re really moving… I can’t believe this. I’m a father.”
“And I’m an aunty…” Alex whispers in awe.
“Do you guys want to feel?” I ask, looking towards Raya and Glenda.
“Yes! Of course!” Raya says excitedly, telling Creed to move away, making me want to burst out laughing, how much I missed these moments.
Creed gets up and stands away, giving me and the rest of my family space. I see my grandmother smile softly at Creed as he goes, turning back to me and talking about the babies and how healthy and strong they are.
“Four babies, it’s truly a blessing from the goddess,” My grandmother whispers with a loving smile on her face.
“Do you guys have any names picked out yet?” Raya asks excitedly, basically bouncing in her seat.
“Well…I really like the name, Maddox\- if it’s a boy. And… Athena after my mother,” I say shyly, ears turning pink, hopeful that Creed will like them too.
Creed smiles at me warmly, “I love those, what about Juniper, and maybe Mazikeen? And if we have more than one boy I like the name Enzo,” he says, giving me his opinion, making me feel all warm inside.
“Yes… I love them,” I said softly, walking over to him and placing a tender kiss on his lips.
At first it is sweet and soft but then Creed grabs me pulls me impossibly closer, deepening the kiss making me feel wet.
When Creed finally pulls away we’re both breathless and hot, my heart is beating fast in my chest and I feel Sapphire at the edge of my consciousness.
I hear Raya whisper in the background but I’m too focused on Creed to say anything.
“Let’s go to bed, I’m exhausted,” I say breathlessly, grabbing onto Creed's hand, “goodnight, everybody. We can talk more tomorrow and grandma, can you check on the babies tomorrow?”
“Yes! I can check on them whenever you want, Lily. I’d be happy too,” my grandmother says softly, smiling at us as we go.
Everyone else says their goodbyes and we all retire to bed.
“What a day,” I say, feeling the exhaustion creeping up on me.
“What a week,” Creed says back, making us burst out laughing.
“Don’t over exaggerate, Creed!” I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes in the process.
Creed smiles at me as we both start to quiet down, “goddess, I missed you…” he whispers, like I’m not really here.
I run my fingers up his arms, towards his collarbone.
“I’m here, I’m real. You better believe it, now take me to bed…” I whisper in his ear, my breath tickling him making a shiver run down his spine.
“Your wish is my command,” Hunter's voice comes out, making my heart beat faster.
