Chapter 34 Watch Out!
Creeds pov.
I’m still trying to reel myself in after that crazy revelation, my wings literally came out. They came out of my human body. That’s never been done before, no dragon shifter, not even the most powerful has been able to do that. Not even my father.
“Hurry, Creed!” Lily yells at me, breaking me out of the haze I was in. We’re almost at the door leading us outside.
“Not so fast!” A chick yells as she emerges from around a corner. Four others flanking her.
“Get out of our way,” Lily growls out aggressively, “this will not end well for you.”
‘Dirty blood suckers,’ Hunter growls in my head.
“Oh please, What're you gonna do about it?” One of them taunts. She has dreadlocks and dried blood on her mouth.
Before she can react, Lily has her up in the air with her magic, choking the life out of her.
“Lily, once we break their necks we must light them on fire, otherwise they will come back,” I tell her.
She nods her head, acknowledging my words. I square up, getting ready for a fight when I feel the signs of my wings coming out. All of the vampires look at me in horror, as if I’m the worst thing they could see right now.
Lily already has the first one lying dead on the floor when I launch myself at one of the other ones, grabbing her by the hair I fling her at the wall, she hits it with a sickening crunch, falling to the floor. Without waiting until they’re all dead I use my dragon's breath to light her body on fire, turning her to ashes so there’s no chance she’ll come back alive.
“You’re tougher than you look,” the one with bright red hair hisses at Lily.
Without bothering to give her a reply, Lily lets her claws out, slitting the woman’s throat.
She gurgles from the loss of air before crumpling to her knees, her eyes wide open as she dies. Lily throws a fireball at her body turning her to ashes.
With only two left Lily and I looked at each other, something passed between us as if we knew what the other was thinking.
We start running towards them, Lily launching herself at me taking the two vampires by surprise. I swing Lily towards them with force, connecting her foot with the one chick's head, snapping her neck instantly, the other looks at us in horror, pleading for her life.
“Please, please! Show merc-,” before she can finish I tear her throat out with my claws. Lily ignites a fireball tossing it onto her body, I look off at the first vampire Lily killed and notice she’s slowly coming back to life, I walk over towards her and let my dragon's breath turn her to ash.
Lily's pov.
“Please, please! Show merc-,” she can’t even finish before Creed's claws sink into her neck, ripping her throat out. Noticing the first vampire I killed, Creed slowly walks over to her using his dragon's breath to light her body on fire.
‘Nasty, blood suckers,’ Sapphire shutters in my mind. I cringe at the piles of ash on the ground, stepping over it and heading outside once again.
With Creed right behind me we both burst out into the open, the first thing I see is absolute chaos.
Blood and dead bodies litter the ground, fire is burning everywhere. Hundreds of dragon shifters are fighting in the sky. Werewolves and other shifters are fighting, vampires are everywhere also. It’s a blood bath.
In the distance I see Ryan, he has my mother and Raya fighting alongside him, they are killing anyone in their path closing in on us. I look towards Creed and he’s got his wings out and claws. His dragon's horns are starting to sprout out of his head.
I see Ryan make eye contact with Creed, his eyes widen and his mouth drops open. He falters for a second out of his surprise, in his moment of distraction a werewolf tries to take him out, I’m about to yell out to him but before I can a blur of brown tackles the wolf to the ground, ripping his belly to shreds, I quickly recognize the wolf as Raya and am surprised to see her shift and hug Ryan quickly before fighting again.
“Well that’s new,” Creed and I say in unison. We both laugh and shake our heads before heading into the fight.
Creed and I flank each other, staying close so we can watch the others back. Shifters come at us from all directions but they are no match for us. Creed tears into people and uses his wings to his advantage, picking people up and flying into the sky, dropping them to their deaths.
I use my magic to my advantage, saving Sapphire for when I need her the most.
I look over and see my mothers still fighting with Ryan and Raya, like a force to be reckoned with. She kills shifters with precise skill, not allowing anyone to pass her. I’m not the happiest that she came back here, but there’s nothing I can do about it, just fight alongside her.
I keep cutting my way through the crowd of warriors. I don’t know how but Sapphire knows who’s a part of our tribe and who’s our enemy.
I see Danny In the distance and it’s like I forget everything else around me.
Creed pov. (Quick insight)
I’m currently fighting a werewolf who stands no chance against me when I see Lily walking in the direction of Danny. He’s got a huge smile on his face waiting for her to make it to him, Lily has a forcefield around her that’s not allowing anyone to get to her, she is on a mission and she’s not gonna allow anyone to stop her, not even me.
“Lily, don’t!” I call out to her, but it’s as if she can’t hear me.
‘Sapphire and Lily need to do this, she’s blocking me out too, Creed,’ Hunter basically whimpers.
I roar out my anger shifting into Hunter's form, nobody will escape me alive.
Lily's pov. (Again)
All I can think about is killing my father, getting to him and just making it rain with his blood. Sapphire growls her agreement in my head.
I’m just about to make it to him when I see him smirking, something inside me snaps and I almost can’t hold Sapphire back but manage to push her back enough to keep control.
Making sure my claws don’t come out I start running towards him now, like a forcefield around me there’s a clear path being made in front of me, allowing me to get to him faster.
I’m the one smirking now as I’m right in front of dear old dad.
“Daughter..” he says in a sing-song voice.
Sapphire and I cringe inwardly at the contentment he’s showcasing. The nerve of this guy.
“Enough with the theatrics, Danny. You know what I’m here for,” I say emotionless.
You can see the side of his lip twitch, a clear sign he’s not happy with my coldness towards him.
“Now, now, Lily. That’s no way to talk to your father,” he says darkly, he starts to walk towards me and I take a couple of steps backwards. Putting the needed distance between us until I figured out my next move.
He continues to walk towards me as if he wants to catch me off guard. I start moving in a circle instead, hands up ready for anything. Sapphires itching to get out and tear him apart.
Instead of doing what I thought he was going to do he lunges at me swinging a fist towards my face. I dodge backwards just in time for his fist to go whizzing past me, he doesn’t stop there though, he swings his other fist at me now, and another, one after another his fists keep getting thrown at me, I’m just narrowly avoiding them when he kicks me in the stomach, hard.
I tumble backwards a bit but regain my footing, not hesitating this time I lunge at him, going for a left hook and sending a right instead. I just barely grazed him but it hit him enough to hurt, he winces slightly, obviously underestimating my strength.
I keep going, sending punch after punch, kick after kick. He’s a lot stronger than I thought and a lot harder to take down.
I see him smirking as if he knows a secret that I don’t, as I’m about to say something smug I hear my mother cry out,
“Lily! Watch out!”
