Chapter 33 THE DIVINE HYPOCRISY

Chapter 33 THE DIVINE HYPOCRISY
The gods of Light needed a devil to stay relevant," Kaelen’s voice rasped, vibrating against the cooling walls of the Abyss. "So they created the devil. They created the Abyss."

He stood before the shackled Original Dragon God, a titan of grey scales and weeping mana. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and ancient blood. Above them, the three pillars of "Holy Light" pulsed with a frantic, artificial rhythm, siphoning the titan’s very life force to feed the "miracles" of the world above.

"They... fear... the blood..." the Old God wheezed, its sightless eyes turning toward Kaelen. "The Church... it was a farm, Kaelen Aurelian. They suppressed the Dragon bloodlines for five centuries... not because we were monsters... but because we were the only ones who could stop their greed."

"The 'Purity Pulse' that drove the Abyssal tribes mad," Kaelen said, his platinum-gold scales shimmering with a dark heat. "It wasn't an accident. It was an extermination."

"We were the protectors..." the Titan’s voice echoed in Kaelen’s soul. "The gods wanted a world of sheep. Dragons... were the wolves that guarded the gate. So they broke us. They made us the nightmare so the sheep would run to the Light for protection."

"Master!" Thorne’s voice crackled through the communication gem, panicked and distorted. "The sky over the capital is literally cracking! The mages are losing their mana! They’re screaming that the Light has abandoned them!"

"The Light didn't abandon them, Thorne," Kaelen said, walking toward the first massive, rune-etched chain. "I’m just about to cut off the power supply."

"Kaelen, stop!" A voice boomed from the pillars above. It wasn't the High Priest. It was a chorus of celestial voices, cold and devoid of empathy. "The Balance must be maintained! Without the Titan’s sacrifice, the mortal realm will collapse into entropy! You are a part of this system!"

"I was the part you threw away," Kaelen replied, his hand gripping the silver link of the first chain. The "Deity Runes" hissed, burning into his palms, but the \[Dragon Marrow\] within him roared in response. "You called me a Meat Shield. You used my people as batteries. The balance isn't your concern. The bill is."

"You are a mere scrapper! A mutation of stolen blood!"

"I'm the mutation that's about to faceslap the heavens," Kaelen growled.

He braced his feet against the floor of the rift, his muscles bulging with a force that warped the space around him. The \[Dragon Marrow\] reached a fever pitch, turning his veins into lines of molten gold.

"Master, the pressure!" Jax screamed through the resonance. "The Rift can't take much more!"

"Hold on to something!" Kaelen roared.

With a sound like a world-ending thunderclap, Kaelen pulled. The silver chain, forged by the deities themselves to hold a primordial, began to stretch. The runes flared blood-red, trying to incinerate his hands, but Kaelen’s scales held firm.

CRACK.

The first chain shattered.

The shockwave sent the High Priest’s remaining shadow-spirits into oblivion. Above them, in the "Heavenly Realm," a scream of divine agony echoed through the rift.

"He... he’s actually doing it," the Elven Queen’s voice whispered through the communication link. "The siphoning has stopped. The mages... they’ve lost their magic entirely!"

"One down," Kaelen panted, moving to the chain at the Titan’s throat. "Two to go."

"Mortal! Cease this madness!" the celestial voices shrieked. "The stars will go dark! The crops will wither! We are the source of all life!"

"You're a parasite in a white robe," Kaelen said, his hands locking around the second chain. "And the host just woke up."

He didn't just pull this time; he channeled the Seventh Molting’s golden energy directly into the metal. The chain didn't just break—it disintegrated.

The Original Dragon God let out a roar that shook the foundations of the planet. For the first time in five hundred years, the titan breathed on its own.

"The Heavenly Realm!" Thorne yelled. "Master, the palace spires are turning into dust! The 'Holy' artifacts are melting!"

The three pillars of light above Kaelen began to flicker and dim. The "Gods" were no longer booming commands; they were gasping for air. Their power source—the agonizingly extracted mana of the Dragon God—was gone.

"What have you done?" the voices whimpered. "We were the Light..."

"The Light is just a brighter way to hide the blood," Kaelen said, standing before the final chain over the Titan’s heart. "I think the world is ready to see in the dark."

He grabbed the final shackle. The Deity Runes screamed one last time, a pathetic, high-pitched whine. Kaelen snapped the metal like it was a dry twig.

The Titan fell forward, its massive wings unfurling for the first time in an age. The Abyss was flooded with a roar of pure, untainted mana—the true essence of the First Tribes.

"It’s over," Kaelen whispered.

Suddenly, the ceiling of the Abyss vanished. A beam of "Holy Light" three hundred feet wide descended from the sky—the final, desperate reserve of the Heavenly Realm. It was a "Re-Seal" spell, designed to erase Kaelen and the Titan in a single, sanctified blast.

"Master, move!" Jax screamed.

Kaelen didn't move. He looked up at the descending pillar of white execution.

"Is that the 'Will of the Gods'?" Kaelen asked, his voice calm.

He reached up. As the beam of absolute destruction hit his palms, he didn't vaporize. He didn't burn. He caught the solid mana of the beam as if it were a physical spear.

"Impossible!" the voices from the sky shrieked. "That is the Purest Light! It cannot be touched by the profane!"

"I told you," Kaelen said, his golden eyes burning with a terrifying, absolute authority. "I’ve changed the gold to ash."

Kaelen’s hands tightened around the pillar of light. With a casual, effortless flick of his wrists, he snapped the beam of divine energy in half.

The light shattered into millions of harmless, white sparks that rained down like snow.

The silence that followed was more terrifying than the roar. Above, the sky over the capital began to bleed a dark, abyssal violet. The "Heavenly Realm" was no longer hidden. It was exposed, trembling, and powerless.

"Wait for me," Kaelen whispered, looking up at the terrified gods.

The Original Dragon God stood up beside him, its sightless eyes glowing with Kaelen’s gold.

The suspense was a blade at the throat of the universe. The "Light" had failed. The "Dark" had found its King. And the debt was about to be collected in full.
